Gael Garcia Bernal is a versatile actor, the plot is very fresh and interesting, the haunting music suits the mood and tone, and the twists are also unexpected. The themes of homosexuality, religion, etc. aren't new but they are approached in such a unique and fresh way.

It is a wonderful and exceptional yet tragic film about two lesbian lovers and their new roommate. It has a great cast and some beautiful imagery. All three main characters do groundbreaking performances, I specifically love Paulie, and the ending is very sad and depressing. Tory should have followed her heart and Paulie should have not let anger overcome her.

I love how V sees himself as a powerful and bulletproof idea while Evey likes V for the person he is. The film is a great movie with great themes. It shows how we should have tolerance and accept people for whatever their race, gender, sexual orientaion and religion may be.

I am not fond of road trip movies but this film is an exception. For me, it is a nostalgic piece of art as it somehow reminds me of life back in my home country. It has a great narration, nice imagery and well-developed characters. I also find Tenoch very attractive and sexy.

The movie has tons of movie references, memorable scenes, great cinematography, some shocking and disturbing elements that blend with the eccentricities and the style of this movie, and unique messages and themes. For some reason, this movie reminds me of Y Tu Mama Tambien.

It is a great movie about homosexuality, family relationships, drug addiction, and faith. Zach is just a cool and awesome character, and the rest are pretty interesting too. I love the scene where Zach goes to the deserts of Jerusalem. I can also somehow relate to the main character, Zach, as he keeps denying his sexuality and finally accepts it in the end.

It's about three women from three different generations with similar conflicts. It has likable characters, a great cast and a wonderful story. I love how all three women are somehow connected to each other even if they are from different generations. I also love the little plot twist in the end.

This film is about family relationships and values, homosexuality and first love, and it is simply one of the most lovable and most heartwarming movies ever. It has great actors, hilarious scenes, a realistic depiction of life in poverty and life in the Philippines, and a satisfying ending. Hehe, everyone goes through that first love phase.

The protagonist is eye candy, so hot and adorable. It isn't exactly your average gay film because of its great and fitting narration, hilarious scenes, and an exceptional plot. There are a couple of cliches in the end but I still love this movie. The happy ending is quite a change from the tragic and depressing endings I have seen from a couple of gay/lesbian movies lately.

The movie is so tragic and depressing, and it is capable of showing its audience the awful truth and reality. Hilary Swank is just brilliant, and the one who portrays Lana is just as great as her. It is very rare that you see movies that deal with issues and themes of transsexuality, and this movie is quite a rare gem.

It has a very interesting story, unique and problematic yet lovable characters, some hilarious scenes, and some quotable lines here and there. And I really don't mind the explicit sexual content. I recommend this film to people who are totally fine with sexuality, homosexuality and bisexuality.

It is an excellent and witty film with themes of homosexuality, bisexuality and feminism. It has unrealistic yet great dialogue and interesting and diverse characters. The gay themes give the film a little bit of flair and humor. I absolutely love the ending where they all talk about what will exactly happen to them in the future.

The story is about two lovers who are forced to act according to the norms of society and make their relationship a secret. I don't like Ennis as he seems to be too aggressive and still in denial about his sexuality but I absolutely love Jack as he really dreams of living with his loved one. But the movie has a tragic and sad ending.

It is about two best friends and a love triangle among friends. It has wonderful cinematography, comforting colors of blue in most of the scenes, some nostalgic scenes, some lovely imagery, and an overdone yet good story. The open ending is quite okay since it lets the audience decide what happens among the three in the end.

It is very eccentric and disturbing at times. It has realistic, interesting and messed-up characters. There are a lot of unforgettable scenes in this film, and there is one scene that I particularly love: the one where most of the characters seem to be mad and frustrated.

Let's learn to appreciate life more and let's try harder to notice the beautiful things in this world. The movie is kind of dark but the unpredictable ending totally made up for it. I must say that it has one of the most satisfactory yet saddest endings ever.

I love satires but lately, I have been seeing some awful satirical films such as Thank You For Smoking. However, this film is a good example of a satire that actually works. It criticizes the conversion therapy, and it even makes fun of the stereotypical depictions of homosexuals and the gender roles and norms in our society. It is also good to see Dante Basco portraying a homosexual.

Javier Bardem amazingly portrays an interesting writer who is hated by the communist government for being both a homosexual and a rebel. Johnny Depp plays two minor characters here but still manages to stand out even with these small roles. I praise this film for its excellent cinematography, amazing camera shots and brilliant script.

Elin jokingly tells her mother and her sister that she's lesbian while Agnes is pretty much aware about her sexuality. This film is a great story about teenage love, specifically love between two women. The characters, even Johan, are very lovable and sympathetic. I love the ending. They literally come out of the closet even though it isn't exactly a closet.

The movie approaches a common theme in a different yet realistic way. The dying man doesn't exactly tell about his illness to everybody he cares for. He just looks back to his childhood and his past, looks at old photos, takes pictures to have a lasting memory of people he loves, etc. just like any other person would do if he or she is dying.

After his portrayal of a gay character in Law of Desire, Antonio Banderas portrays one again in a mainstream film. It is one of the first mainstream films that deals with homosexuality and AIDS. I am not a huge fan of Tom Hanks but he does an amazing and outstanding performance in this movie. The story is great and deeply moving. There is also great character development.

Antonio Banderas kissing another man is pure bliss. And Antonio, our antagonist, is the embodiment of obsession and possessiveness in this film as the film shows how obsession is the wrong kind of love and can be such a bad thing. The film also has some themes of homosexuality and transsexuality. There are also some surprising revelations and twists in the end.

My love for this movie can't just be expressed in words. The film has a very good and real portrayal of women, lesbians and transsexuals. The characters are very realistic and lovable even with their countless flaws. Penelope Cruz and the rest of the cast are amazing. I also love the film's reference to A Streetcar Named Desire, a favorite play of mine.

One summer changes the whole lives of two guys; one becomes an asexual, and one becomes a gay prostitute. The performances of all the actors and actresses are noteworthy. The scene where it suddenly snows and the last scene are very well-done and are really different from the dark and depressing tone of the film. This is a disturbing yet great film dealing with so many issues.

This film deals with transsexuality, something most people are uncomfortable with. It is another one of those great road trip movies. It has only good intentions, and it is overall charming and heartwarming. Both protagonists are dynamic characters who slowly develop during their road trip.

It is love in the wrong time and the wrong place. But I really do think Ilse and Felice are more compatible for each other than Felice and Lilly since I am not quite fond of Lilly's character. This film has very intense dramatic scenes, lovable characters, a depressing tone, a grim and dark atmosphere, and a couple of memorable scenes.

Rent
(2005, PG-13)
I am kind of annoyed with Roger's singing voice. Nonetheless, this movie is still a wonderful musical with lovable characters, great and diverse actors and actresses who have amazing voices and unique lines. Even though there are a lot of conflicts and themes in this musical, it still works and they are able to pull it off.

It is a guilty pleasure movie of mine. The songs are catchy and I love the acting performances by Toni Collette and Nia Vardalos. Toni and Nia are great at portraying women pretending to be gay cross-dressers. The ending is kind of cheesy and predictable but I still love this movie.

This shows how much society has changed since the 1950s when it comes to diversity and tolerance. It looks at how racism and homophobia just leads to a life of prejudice and unacceptance and leads to more damaging problems. Kudos to Julianne Moore for her effective performance.

I am not a fan of the terrible dialogue in this film. The last parts of the film and the small twist in the end have made me decide to give this movie more than two stars out of five. It is a simple movie, not a masterpiece but still a good one.

L.I.E.
(2001, NC-17)
It's Paul Dano in his pre-Little Miss Sunshine days. Even though it is very interesting and dramatic, the film is very disturbing, and I have expected more from this movie. One of the main characters just disappears after the first half of the film, and I have expected more roles from the side characters.

It's always either a hit or miss from Gus Van Sant, and this movie is definitely a miss. Although I admire the acting performance from River Phoenix, the story isn't that good and the ending is annoyingly weird. I guess I never will be a fan of any movies that are based on Shakespeare's works.

This depressing film looks at the history of China and its Peking opera while also looking at the relationships and struggles of three characters especially at Cheng Dieyi's secret feelings towards his childhood friend and fellow male actor. These three people's lives have been determined and affected by things beyond their control. The costumes and the setting make the film look more vibrant.

A young Daniel Day-Lewis licking the neck of another man is pure bliss. This film is exceptional as it is able to deal with a lot of themes and conflicts (sexuality, race, class, politics, etc.) without forcing any of them or putting something out of place. Nothing is entirely resolved in the end but this film doesn't need an ending where every secret should be revealed to the other characters or every loose end should be tied up.

In the once completely homophobic world of Hollywood, gay and lesbian characters have been portrayed in several negative ways, particularly as weak and suicidal victims or villains. Now Hollywood's view of homosexuality has somewhat changed, now showing real and positive images of homosexuals. This documentary has great and relevant clips from movies with homosexual subtexts, great comments from its interviewees and awesome music.

Ludovic believes that he was supposed to be a girl but accidentally became a boy instead. But at the same time, he doesn't want to be hated and blamed by his family because of their neighbor's intolerance of his behavior. This film is an extraordinary one dealing with acceptance, identity, family values, transphobia, etc. It also has a very lovable protagonist, a great use of color, a well-done plot and a satisfying ending.

This is now my most favorite Lukas Moodysson film. It is about families living the hippie lifestyle, and it deals with several themes: feminism, politics, alienation, loneliness, etc. To me, it would be awesome to live in a commune like the one in this film. To anyone who have felt so depressed after watching Lilja 4-Ever, I recommend this one because this film will totally make you feel good and certainly put your hopes back up again.

Just when I thought Wong Kar-Wai was overrated, I got to watch Chungking Express and this film. This film about an unhealthy relationship is an amazing example of a stylish and innovative film that actually works. The cinematography, especially the color design and the visuals, is breathtaking and unique too. The performances by the two actors are very effective and believable, and it is as if the two of them weren't straight in the first place.

It is a great, touching and enjoyable film with a somewhat ambiguous ending. Hedwig can be a jerk towards her fellow band members sometimes but she is a very likable character whom most of us will feel sorry for. Some of the songs sung by the band are awesome and I really like the flashback approach of the lead singer's life. The song The Origin of Love is also very catchy.

Wow, I now feel respect and admiration towards Kevin Smith for making this emotional and hilarious movie. The characters are very realistic, the film is definitely quotable, and unlike other films, it shows compassion, tolerance, and a deep understanding of relationships. The offensive language is too much but I can ignore that because of the great story. The ending isn't what I have expected, and it's a good thing.

Surpisingly, I quite enjoyed watching this film. The dialogues among the different couples are interesting and somewhat witty. Ewan McGregor's role as a homosexual should be noted too. The only connection among the couples in this film is that they all discuss about their own relationships, love, etc. at the same park. I am just sad that most of the stories don't end happily.

I felt that the movie was too long and slow-paced, and the story-within-a-story narrative wasn't the right thing to do here in this film but the film definitely has some good and touching moments and themes of friendship and female empowerment. I also think that the filmmakers should have added the lesbian romance between Idgie and Ruth and not made it subtle.
