i cant stop saying how much i love this movie.. it has to be one of my most fav movies in the world if not my fav. This incredible study of glamrock shows an absolutely wonderful insight into the world of the 70s and 80s where beauty, makeup and rebellion collides... it also shows the attitude of the kids of that era where everyone wanted to be bisexual. not to mention it also features music from lou reed and placebo!!

amazing amazing.. the character draws u in and takes its time to unfold from a kid into an adult.. most enjoyable parts were when he was a kid.. and the soundtrack is FANTASTIC! ending brot tears though.. touching.. very well done.

this is by far one of the most amazing films ever. its so sad and some parts are uncomfortable but so so pretty..
looking into topics that not many wld want to look into... it stirs up your emotions pretty fast.. and the acting... was as they say, phenomenal.

i have no negative comments for this movie at all.. its an absolutely touching coming out movie. and the ending is just so sweet.. and it made me cry.. haha.. and id watch it over and over again.

one of the best gay themed movie ive ever seen. the sexual scenes arent even explicit.. they're really sweet and the cinematography and direction of photography is SUPERB.

stephen fry was born to play this movie.. i've been wanting to watch it foreverrrrr.. its amazing how it played out.. nothing was boring at all. Love the wit and humour, the sorrow and hurt.. everything!!

"of the oscar wilde sort" haha.. I LOVE THIS FILM. i love how difficult it was for them to be together.. and how slowly as if if he were to hide the feelings, clive thought he could change. i love the fact that maurice ended up in love with some one of a different class.

once again, gus van sant.. one of the few geniuses in this business... absolutely beautiful piece about friendship and life on the streets.. absolutely amazing.
River Pheonix gave the most extra-ordinary performance ever... playing a soft spoken sometimes odd narcoleptic.
and the chemistry between him and keanu reeves really worked well.
the movie touched on things such as sexual identity and choosing of relationships and friendships.. absolutely gorgeous.

o.. and the scene where mike told scott that he loved him eventhough he wasnt paid to do so.. is just the sweetest thing ive ever seen... makes me melt...

such a gorgeous gorgeous film. It isnt just about sexuality.. its also about the thatcher period where rascism was also an issue. I love the relationship between omar and johnny. and i love how there was the father and uncle figure trying to prove themselves.
this is definitely a must watch for anybody.

I think i've watched this a million times! I loveeeee this movie and its one of the most heartbreaking love stories ever in hongkong cinema.

this is one of the most heart breaking movies ive ever watched.. cried early in the show and for the last half hour of the movie as well... it is rare to come across a movie of such intensity.. i read the novel based on this movie before i watched it.. so it helped me understand more.. even if you watched it already, i urge u to get the novel. you'll just start crying all over again.

trials and tribultions of coming out in the 80s... The music is absolutely fantastic and the cast did a very good job.

absolutely adorable! this movie will leave you all warm and tingly inside.. espacially if its christmas time! Something the whole family can watch (unless you have homophobic family members.. like mine..). i think everybody should watch it just because the boy who plays scot is so incredibly funny in here. a feel good sort of comedy. and i didn't have any problems with the pacing of the movie. just watch this! :D

cillian murphy makes an extraordinarily pretty lady. yes he does.. and has done the role perfectly with just the right amount of sensitivity and comedy.

watched this twice. its a very nice coming out movie about the people around you and relationship with them, in this case, ex-girlfriends and bestfriends.

lesbian love can be hard to understand but this movie, you just dont see it as a war between straight and gay ppl, you see it as an evolution.. esp for syd in the movie.. so what if its a lesbian movie, go watch it.. the movie shows off real love in all its honesty..

they'd just say "its another gay movie" cept this time its about cowboys and a mountain.. haha.. but its NOT just a gay cowboy movie, its much more to me.. and its totally different from most of the gay movies ive watched.. and trust me, ive watched too many with too much sex scenes and cliche endings. bah.. but this is something that made me tear and i think may even turn some homophobes to homo-loving ppl (in a gd way). :)

i love this movie! but i kinda hate the ending.... :( get real is a wonderful movie and can satisfy like only a british coming out movie can.. i esp love the scene of steve and john in the forbidden forest after sex. what sweetness... :)

wow.. sean hayes is amazing here... i absolutely love him.. and the storyline is REALLY really sweet. I love the fact that it was about a photographer and his polaroids.. i love how they used the polaroids to tell the story.. being a photographer and polaroid collector.. this is one of those movies ill remember forever. :) good to watch with just about anyone~ other than ur homophobic parents that is. :P

moving tale abt a grp of friends and a photographer.. its sort of a feel proud abt urself kind of movie but has more plot in it. all in all, a perfect grow old with me date movie for the sexual minority. ;)

an art house film with something diff... u see a 13 yr old's discovery of his affection for a certain male teacher.. im sure everyone can at least relate a little.

i thought this was gonna be cheesy and everything but i was wrong. I really like the way X narrated the movie. It somehow made it less of a typical gay movie.

this is a very heartwarming movie with a good script.. although its not very well filmed in some parts. I cried and laughed... and i think the boy acting as gil is very talented. and i admire charles busch who plays the male nurse and polly bergen too. great movie to watch.

this movie is just so cute!!! everything about it. and its light hearted so you can watch it when you don't feel very intelligent or when you're just lazy to work your brain juice. lol. chance is a cool character and the fact tt its set in the 80s is awesome. o and i love that little kiss in the end. wooo!

This is absolutely BRILLIANT! Loved the use of archival footage and how gus intergrated it with his filming. Gus van sant is a genius. GENIUS. The film is at once touching and also humourous yet strikes a deep chord in everyone. And the cast is so damn GOOD! josh brolin and sean penn were absoulutely perfect! and not to mention the rest of the supporting cast like james franco, emile hirsch, diego luna and joseph cross! Stunning. This is a well thought out piece of work. And a very important piece of history well worth the reminder. It reminds us all about how important our human rights are and not to take it for granted. Its really amazing to see how Harvey Milk changed history.
Overall, just do yourself a favour and watch this if you havent!

Such majestic angles and magnificent cast. The plot was littered with many tiny details and it was a pleasure to watch. I've seen many people review it as draggy but I never once felt it was too long. I loved how it ends where it started. The journey that we're brought through. The love and the religion, everything that influenced their lives.

I love the relationships between sebastian, charles and julia. what youth!

another brilliant film by todd stephens! Very touching coming of age film with such heart. its filled with dreamy filming and lots of stevie nicks (of cos) and the cure inspired scenes.. a film perfect for the dreamers or anyone who has ever had a dream and tried to persue it. It shows us that its ok to be who we are and to not give up.
