Nick of Time (1995,  R)
Nick of Time 3.5 Stars
Not one of Johnny's best, but still an exciting thriller that should keep you entertained. Christopher Walken again fantastic as 'the bad guy', but without Johnny I wouldn't have seen it in the first place. I wouldn't really expect something like this though.
I hadn't really heard of this before, so I can say that it should have deserved more credit. A must see for any Johnny Depp fan.

From Hell (2001,  R)
From Hell 4.0 Stars
This is another outstanding Johnny Depp film that I am really glad that I have seen. It came highly recommended by friends, and I can say that I completely agree that this was a brilliant movie.

It's another flick where Johnny Depp is an inspector, in this case he is Inspector Fredderic Abberline. Abberline is assigned to investigate a series of murders which are all linked to Jack the Ripper. There are some very disturbing parts to this film, but I thought the murders weren't particularly bloody until it was close to the end.

Johnny Depp gave another exceptional performance, every thing he did in this film.. his every movement and every line he spoke was to complete perfection. Heather Graham was one of the more average actors, but still not a completely bad casting choice. Ian Holm was electrifying.. his performance was amazing and he truly gave the whole movie a lot more thrills. There were some other great supporting actors in this, including Robbie Coltrane and Jason Flemyng.

I strongly recommend for anyone to see this, definitely a great watch and an exceptional horror/thriller movie!

Bridge to Terabithia (2007,  PG)

"She brought you something special when she came here, didn't she? That's what you hold onto. That's how you keep her alive."

If I hadn't been given the DVD then I would never have chosen to watch this, It was lucky I got it because wow.. this really surprised me. I expected it to be one of those childish movies, but this is much more. It's emotional, inspiring, sad and pleasing to see.

Okay, honestly I hated the look of this movie from seeing the trailer in the cinema. It just looks like another kids Disney movie that I wouldn't like any pretty much waste my time seeing. So from that, I had no intention that I would ever see it.. and somehow I found out the ending, so that made me even more disinclined to see it. But hey, look at me now, I've seen it and I really enjoyed it. It wasn't at all just a kids movie, and I think that it would be hard for some kids to take in the tragic incident towards the end of this movie, therefore it would be hard for some kids to understand all the elements of this film. There I can understand that they might not like it.. but for someone like me, it's incredible how all of the elements come together and create this wonderful movie and satisfying ending. You have to understand and have an open mind to see this and enjoy it.

It was extraordinary how the two main characters, kids, could come through so well with the actors. Josh Hutcherson and AnnaSophia Robb were brilliant together in this, both of them giving amazing and inspiring performances that shouldn't be missed. Robert Patrick was also in the cast, I felt he had a pretty important role for someone that isn't on the screen for as long as others.

This really was a magical story and one that should be seen no matter how old you are, hopefully you will find something special hidden within the story that you won't forget.

Alfie 3.0 Stars
It was worth watching, but not exactly interesting for me. I liked the humor and how this film is unique, but really it had no storyline at all and apart from a few quotes it wasn't laugh-out-loud comedy.
Though I must say that Jude Law was brilliant as always..

Michael Clayton (2007,  R)
Michael Clayton 4.0 Stars
"There's no play here. There's no angle. There's no champagne room. I'm not a miracle worker, I'm a janitor. The math on this is simple. The smaller the mess the easier it is for me to clean up."

Michael Clayton is an appealing, slow at times, but generally satisfying thriller. My words of advise if you plan to see this is not to expect a fast-paced action thriller of any kind, this is really something quite the opposite. It's still kept in the 'thriller/mystery' genre, but by no means has the action that some viewers might be looking for. Instead it takes a slower pace and it focused on politics and lawyers, though not a great deal of understanding is needed. In order for this overall film to leave the viewer satisfied, you have to understand the ending and pay close attention throughout the film. Even for me there are some questions still in my mind that are unanswered, but I know that some people will watch this and not pay attention for some of the movie, and then be left almost clueless at the end. I for one really appreciated this style of film, and although it's not normally a type of film that I would choose to watch, I am still glad that I have seen it.

George Clooney showed some amazing talent in Michael Clayton, it was great to see him in a role such as this. Tilda Swinton for me did not live up to the 'Best Supporting Actress' Oscar that she received, to me most of her performance was nothing that contributed a lot to the film. Tom Wilkinson, however, was exceptional and gave a great performance.

This was a brilliant film that I definitely enjoyed watching, it was extremely interesting and well acted in most cases. Though, having said that, this film isn't for everyone. If it sounds like something you might like, or you're just curious, then I recommend that you see this for yourself.
