Little Shop of Horrors (1986, PG-13)
Timid florist Rick Moranis finds a plant that thrives only on blood. As it grows, so it gets greedier, to the detriment of the local population. This transfer of the popular stage musical falls rather flat, although Steve Martin's great as the sadistic dentist mistreating the wonderfully breathy-voice Ellen Greene. |

Hairspray (2007, PG)
Really outrageously, funny and cool musical of the 1960s like Grease. Newcomer Nikki Blonsky does a wonderful performance in her debut movie from her acting, sings and dance performance. John Travolta was so funny in his drag as Tracy's big-hearted mother. I was surprised when I saw director John Waters and actress Ricki Lake from the original, appeared cameo in this film. |
