Explorers (1985, PG)
It's such a cute cute film with a cute cast (I don't think someday I will call Ethan Hawke cute, but he's really cute in this film ^^). Watching it made me feel like I was dreaming the dreams of Ben, of every kid in the world. Considering it's a 1985 film, Exploreres is a really good kid movie. Sadly that with nowaday technology, kids will not like this film much. |

My Own Private Idaho (1991, R)
River Phoenix is fascinating... It's the first film I watch of him but he totally amazes me. He doesn't own every scene he appears, he doesn't make you forget about other characters. He just plays Mike Waters the way Mike should be, subtle, always longing for love and above all, a home. Mike Waters could easily be my favouite film charater (and considering I rarely like any character from films, that counts for something). I ache for Mike throughout this film, from the moment he asks for $10 more, when he confesses to Scott and after all, when all he has is himself, Idaho and a never-ending road... |
