Surprisingly I really enjoyed it. I really thought I wouldn't. The chemistry between Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna is fantastic. Its really believeable that these two teenage boys are best friends. Maribel Berdu is very good. I do have to say that the ending is just perfect. Loved it. Mexican cinema lovers should definatly see this film. I love it because it sends out great messages about living life to its full.

Its hard to say exactly what I love about this film but there is definatly something special about it. Bill Murray is one of my favorite actors ever. He's a very funny guy and a brilliant actor. Comedy films are what he does best but I think this film shows there is something more to him. This film made Scarlett Johansson and for a very good reason. She is outstanding. The plot is wonderful. Its set in a beautiful city and I think you really get to see how amazing it is. I'd give my left arm to know what he wispered to her at the end as well. I really loved that touch. That even though the film is over it leaves you guessing about what he said. I could watch this movie a million times and never get fed up with it. Definatly one of my favorite films ever.

I seriously love this movie. The Jane Austen story is one of her best and I really think this film does the book justice. The acting is brilliant. One of Kiera Knightley's best performances in my opinion. The chemistry between her and Matthew MacFadyen is really intense and makes the film really enjoyable. It really does have everything you would expect it to have and more. A must see for everyone. I think it's the ultimate love story.

I was really hoping I would love this film after reading all the reviews of people who loved it. So glad I did. The plot was just perfect. With this, they could have got it so wrong and they didn't. It could have been overbearing, stupid and cheesy but it was none of those things. The performances were all excellent, with some huge actors getting very small roles but working with them brilliantly. I've never been a fan of Christian Slater and felt slightly reserved about him being in this film but this has completely changed my mind about him. He was perfect for the part and together with Patricia Arquette, they really did make a great couple. The chemistry was all there which, for this film was rather important. The smaller characters pulled the film together and really made it what it was. Christopher Walken was brilliant as the mob boss. Chris Penn made a really great cop. Brad Pitt as the stoner room mate was classic. Gary Oldman as the pimp just made me laugh. And Val Kilmer as Elvis just threw me off the whole film. The whole character of Elvis was a little odd but for some reason it worked. I worried about the ending most of the way through the film as it just kept building and building and I didn't want it to be a dud climax. But it wasn't in the slightest. Completely worked. Definatly a highly recommended film.

Stunningly beautiful yet tragic and sad. I have not read the book but I certainly intend on doing so. Joe Wright directed this so brilliantly just like he did with Pride and Prejudice. It was just amazing to watch. I love the scene on the beach where nothing important is happening and it isn't affecting the characters in anyway but he felt compelled to put it in. You watch all of the soldiers just waiting. A real insight sequence that although irrelevant summed up with film well. The best part of the film would have to be the acting that came from Keira Knightley and James McAvoy though. The made a great pair and the casting agent did a brilliant job in choosing them because they had everything that was needed to make the film work. Just enough chemistry, the characters down to a tee and the acting ability to portray all the emotion needed. I think I may have found a new favorite film in this award-winning masterpiece.

I really was completely blown away by this film. I cannot believe that I waited so long to watch it. I think it was odd to have two pregnancy films come out in the same year and although I thought Juno was excellent, I have to say I enjoyed this film a whole lot more. Seth Rogan was just amazing and he is definatly going to be huge. I've seen all of his films and so far this is the best by miles, I do only hope that he has not peaked in his career too soon, luckily I honestly don't believe that is the case. I'm sure there is lots more he has to offer. The rest of the cast are all brilliant. I thought Jay Baruchel was excellent and the most defined character of Ben's friends. Jonah Hill also gives an excellent performance. The plot is simple yet beyond effective. Definatly a must see film. Don't wait any longer to see it, I was expecting a brainless comedy but it really is about as far away from that as you are going to get with it still being utterly funny.

Excellent indie film that has everything you should expect from the genre and more. The most stunning thing about this film is how natural everything is. The two lead characters, played by Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy are both really fascinating and throughout the film they reveal more about themselves to each other and to us. It has taken a while for me to really accept that Ethan Hawke can act, after a few less than average performances. However, this film proves that he really does have it in him. Anything I see him in from now on, i'll be expecting this level of excellence. Up until now I've never really been aware of Julie Delpy but in this she proves to be a more than capable actress. Together they make a perfect duo, with all the chemistry and awkwardness of a couple that just met. Some really amazing and honest moments captured, make the film what it is. There are also quite a few shots showing off the backdrop which just adds to the beauty of the film. Really amazing film that I highly recommend. It's not a conventional romance film.

Nancy Meyers in my opinion is one of the best when it comes to Romantic Comedies. This film is so original and refreshing. The cast is just perfect and chemistry is pretty good as well. The cameos were great. I really enjoyed Dustin Hoffman's short but sweet appearance. I love the story and think that it is a really good feel good film. Its good to see Jack Black in a slightly more serious role although he does get to be funny. I would definatly recommend this film to anyone that likes RomComs.

I'm not a huge fan of Orlando Bloom and I think Kirsten Dunst is a decent acress. Therefore i'm completely impartial when it comes to reviewing this film. And I don't know why, but I loved it. I now like Kirsten Dunst even more than I did before and I respect Orlando Bloom a lot more. I find it quite hard to justify my views but it really is a great film. Obviously I think it appeal more to a female audience but even then i'm not the type of girl that likes those kinds of movies. So it did come as quite a shock when I found myself watching this film back to back for weeks on end. Thanks you Sky+ recording. It's probably the kind of film your going to love or hate. I loved it.

I didn't expect this film to be this good. Zack Braff really shows his talents and potential as a big name in Hollywood in this film. Not only did he star in this film and do a wonderful job might i add, but he directed it and wrote it. He really proves himself as an actor, not just in the comedy sense the way he has done before but as a real actor that can successfully put his hand to any genre out there. Braff plays Andrew Largeman, an actor who returns home after nine years for his mothers funeral. Up until this point he has lived his life pumped full of lithium and at this junction in his life he decides to stop taking the medication to see what life is like without it. On this emotional journey Largeman encounters old friends and a girl, Sam, played by Natalie Portman. As the plot develops Sam brings things out of Largeman that he never knew existed. The chemistry between Portman and Braff is quite unexpected to say the least but together they really are brilliant. Bring the best out of each other in the character sense and in their acting abilities. It can't be easy to direct yourself and know when you've got it just right but Braff does it with such ease I hope he gets around to doing it again if this is the kind of results we are going to see. Peter Sarsgaard plays Mark, Largeman's friend from High School. The pair make an obvious duo with Mark being happy to take life as it comes and is in no real hurry to do anything with his life, whereas Largeman is someone who is searching for some reason to it. Luckily, by the end of the film he resolves his problems with his father and himself and in some obscure way, finds some kind of meaning to his life. The rest of the cast do an excellent job as well. I have to mention Jim Parsons even though he's only in one scene. He's a really funny guy even if he doesn't get much of a chance to show it in this film. He plays the Fast Food Knight by the way. Braff won a fair few awards for his efforts as a new director which were completely deserved if you ask me. A quirky film that is completely original and definatly worth checking out. You'll discover a whole new side to Zack Braff which I welcome with open arms after seeing this.

I've never been a huge romantic comedy fan but for some reason I liked this one. The chemistry was good. There were just enough funny moments and romantic moments for it to be believable but not too cheezy. The ending was exactly perfect but it was substantial. John Cusack is always great in romcom's and this one really isn't much different. Kate Beckinsale does a good job as well, I've just recently got into her films. Together they make a great couple which is usually hard to achieve with films like this. A good film that I would recommend anyone see unless you hate romantic comedies.

It's my friends favorite film, so I thought I better check it out to see why she makes such a fuss about it. I can see why she likes it but it is by far no where near as good as she made out. I like Winona Ryder films and this one was good in terms of some of the other rubbish she signs up for. For some odd reason I even managed to like Ethan Hawke. Never ever, thought i'd say that, but I did. He was actually pretty good. Both of their characters were really interesting. The same can't be said for Ben Stiller however. He gave a decent performance but that wasn't what I had a problem with. It was that he just seemed completely out of place. He just looked odd inbetween the two other characters. He did a great job with the direction but perhaps someone else being cast as his character would have been a more sensible choice. Fun film overall that should definatly be checked out though, despite the few problems I had with it.

A film that really surprised me. I knew it would be good but I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. The plot was very good and interesting I'm sure to those of you who are not into Shakespeare. Luckily I'm not one of those people as I love his work. I was hoping this would do it justice in some form or another. I liked that they didn't even try to challenge it. They stayed faithful to most of it and didn't interfere with it at all, which is why this film is so successful. Joseph Fiennes is an excellent actor, but if I'm honest not the most obvious choice to play the young Shakespeare, so it's probably a good thing I'm not a casting director because he did an excellent job. I have no idea if he was nominated for an Oscar but if he wasn't he really should have been. Gwyneth Paltrow did an amazing job and really deserved her Oscar. She's not really an actress that has impressed me an awful lot. I always get the feeling she lacks something when i'm watching her. But whatever that something is, she had it in this film. Probably the first time I've watched her and really respected her as an actress. Together with Joseph Fiennes, they make an excellent pair, with a ton of chemistry to boot. However, I don't feel it was these two that really made the film. I feel it was the supporting performances that gave it that something special. First of all, Judi Dench as the Queen was just brilliant. She did a really brilliant job and too, deserved her Oscar. Although I didn't like Colin Firth's character (I believe that was the point), he was brilliant. I'm nearly always disappointed by Ben Affleck but in this he was very good, for the very limited amount of screen time he had. And I just have to mention Martin Clunes. I'm sure very few of you know his name unless you're familiar with British tv, specifically comedy. He's a terrific actor and although he probably only titled as an extra on this film, I feel I owe it to him to mention him as i've watched him a lot on a comedy show in the 90s and I don't believe i've ever laughed so much. The plot is very good, straight to the point and without all the unnecessary crap in between. Definatly a film you should check out if you've not already.

This film actually really surprised me. When it started off with the shot of Annabelle in the car it was the exact shot used in the film Lost and Delirious so I thought that it was probably a sign of things to come. A film that wouldn't be original in the slightest and take all the best bits from other films in an attempt to be better than it actually was. I didn't think that was the case at all. Perhaps it wasn't the most original piece i've ever seen but it had it's moments. It didn't try to be anything bigger than it was, it wasn't obnoxious or over stating it's message. The plot has been done before and probably more successfully than this as well but there was something to it that made it watchable. Lots of people have complained about the ending *spoilers* and said they should have ended up together but I think the ending was perfect. Although the plot was slightly unrealistic, at least the ending was grounded. People act as if they could have been together when anyone with half a brain knows that just wouldn't happen. I thought it was directed very well. Some really beautiful shots and I liked that it ended with the same shot it started with. In the beginning you see Annabelle in the back seat of a car with the window rolled down so far and in the end it's a shot of Simone in the back of the car with the window open so far. The lighting used was also very good. Katherine Brooks did a really good job of this and I look forward to seeing if she makes anything else. Overall not a bad romantic film. Obviously not to everyone's taste but if you're into the whole girl on girl action then there is a couple of scenes you might be interested in. It's not as bad as some people make out and not as good as others make out.

I've heard a lot about this film recently so I thought I'd better see what all the fuss was about. The title set certain impressions of the film, so I didn't really bother reading the synopsis. I was wrong about that. I thought it would be about teenagers trying to commit suicide. I thought it would just be some bad emo film. I was glad that I was wrong. No, it wasn't excellent but it wasn't your usual love story either so it's always a pleasure to watch films that have a different take on things. The inexperience of everything really comes through in this film. Although it doesn't hinder the film in anyway. It showcases the young talent in all the different fields of film making. Some of the sequences are quite striking, especially the very first one. Patrick Fugit does a really great job in the leading role and all the other characters work well together. I really can't complain about any of it. Yes, there are flaws but nothing that would bother you an awful lot. A recommended film just because it's different.

I was expecting a really terrible romantic comedy that would use every cliche in the book. Luckily it wasn't like that at all. Cute story with pretty decent performances. Piper Perabo and Lena Headey have worked together before so their performances are slightly more comfortable although better has been known to come from Perabo. It's also odd that the most chemistry does not come from these characters, as would be expected, but from Anthony Head and Celia Imrie. The unconventional couple who give the impression of hating each other. It was also these two that were given some of the best dialogue of the film. "We've been together since the fall of Troy", just about floored me. Head's delivery of these lines is just spot on and really makes the film. Overall not a bad film, i'm sure it won't cater to everyones taste but you'll have to decide that for yourself.
