Me Without You (2002, R)
This is an all-time favorite movie of mine! It is about a remarkable growth of friendship through time, and beautifully captured through the trials and tribulations of Holly and Marina. The two met as children living next door to each other, and quickly becoming best friends doing just about everything together. The path into adolescence leaves the two dealing with the onset of emotional disasters in various relationships and embarking into new adventures, or lack of. Although Marina is highly self-indulgent and takes Holly's friendship for granted at every opportunity, this leaves Holly sadly living in the shadow of Marina's misadventures and pining for the love of Marina's older brother. Despite having a cruel friend, it is Holly that truly shines. As adults, Holly is fed up with all the mistreatments, past and present, she then realizes it is more than just about self-worthiness and acceptance but about separating herself from Marina altogether in order to have her own life. Great cast! Michelle Williams and Anna Friel are a great combination. Trudie Styler is brilliant. Absolutely love Oliver Milburn in this one! Phenomenal music!! Gotta love Echo & the Bunnymen, Cowboy Junkies, Depeche Mode, The Clash, etc. Definitely worthy. |

Dil Ne Jise Aapna Kaha (2004, Unrated)
A great movie! Absolutely loved it. Salman Khan is phenomenal. One cannot help but fall in love with his character, Rishabh. Rishabh had everything in life, a good career, the love of his life, and absolutely beautiful life and home. One day, he loses his true love in an accident but yet gains a new love in another. Little does he know, his true love donates her heart to Dhani, a young woman in sore need of an able heart. This movie definitely reminds me of "Return to Me" with Minnie Driver and David David Duchovny. Another great movie as well. This is definitely a tearjerker! Brace yourself. |

Vivah (2006, Unrated)
A fantastic movie! Absolutely loved it. The story plot is beautiful, and very touching. It's very enduring, and heartfelt. The relationship between two families are wonderful to see in this movie, as well as the very touching belief an uncle/father has for his daughters. All daughters should not be seen as a father's burden. I think this is definitely a beautiful thought, no matter of what culture. This movie reflects a great love a father has for his daughters, despite one not being of his own (but that of his brother's). It's also fascinating to see a character like Prem, a man, loving his true love despite what she may look after her accident. Loving her truly within, despite her outer physical appearances. Great movie by Sooraj R. Barjatya. Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao show definite promises, as they have in their likely characters. Seema Biswas is phenomenal in this movie. |

Yaadein (2001, Unrated)
An intriguing movie. Great story plot. A movie most worthy to watch over and over, despite the mood or setting. This story centralizes around family, friendship, and lastly love. Raj Singh Puri loses his beloved wife Shalini in an accident, and continues to raise and support his three daughters on his own. At his wife's behest, he promises not to only be a father but their friend as well. There hasn't been an inconstructive task where Raj had to face alone before, because he always had his Shalini by his side. Now, he must be both parent to his daughters as they embark on love, marriage, and the future. Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor are brilliant. |

I'm With Lucy (2002, R)
A fantastic movie! Absolutely adore it. Great love-comedy about a woman who has one misfortunate blind date right after another, in some cases- disastrous! She finds certain things wrong in each of the guys, although her emotions are pretty shifty after being dumped by her dream guy. She tries to find subtlety in any situation. But, when she does, she just isn't sure. |

Silk (2007, R)
A fantastic movie! Very touching and enduring. Intriguing story plot. Michael Pitt, Keira Knightley, and Alfred Molina star in this movie. Here's a tale of one precious commodity that helped open trade for Japan, silkworm. This is the story of one man's quest to obtain it. Great transition in musical composition. Definitely a tearjerker! *sigh* A must-see (if you dig romance movies). |

U, Me Aur Hum (2008, Unrated)
An exceptionally, amazing movie with a brilliant story plot by Ajay Devgan. Here's a movie about two who meet, fall in love, marry, and begin a life together. Ajay (Ajay Devgan) falls instantly in love with Piya (played by his wife, Kajol Devgan), at first sight on a cruise ship where she is a waitress at a bar. After buying a round of drinks, he is smitten and decides to win her love. He embarks on a swift journey where he learns salsa, buys her favorite kind of chocolates, gets a dog, and changes his entire home. It is months after their marriage, when Piya starts to forget things collectively and a sudden event causes them to see a doctor. It is there that Ajay learns Piya has an early set of Alzheimer's, and decides to care for her and their unborn baby. Several months after, a certain life-threathening event occurs and it leads him to make the final decision for the safety of his child and his wife: he decides to send her to a patients facility where she will be entirely cared for. But suddenly, he realizes he is nothing without her in his life, and also acknowledges that it is his 'sacrifice' and duty to love, and care, for Piya no matter what. |
