The Dark Knight (2008, PG-13)
Following a chain of five star ratings and tears brought to peoples' eyes, I feel a little guilty saying that I didn't truly get into it until about the last hour and a half. It was a bit slow at first, but by the end, I was very much on the edge of my seat. Oh, can I just say that Christian Bale is dead sexy? Okay. That's out. Anyway. Heath Ledger's performance was not overrated, even if it was brought more to attention in light of his death. It was truly incredible, and I second the various motions I've heard of him being nominated for an Academy Award. Overall, the movie was interesting, and at the end, quite captivating. I won't go so far as to call it the best thing I've seen all year, but it was very good. |
