Fantastic! I can't help a giggly smile on my face whenever I watch this. Each character is complexly constructed, honestly played, and presented from a quirky perspective. What's there to want?

Atonement 4.5 Stars
I'm torn between a 4 and a 4.5., so I gave the movie the benefit of the doubt. There are certainly moments of pristine quality, dampened by others that are dull or unconvincingly acted (especially through the middle as the war comes into play). Overall, a stunning spectacle, very intricate in its presentation, that touches on all of our favorite themes.

Why doesn't Jim Carrey just stick to drama? He's much better in that capacity, if you ask me.

Pride and Prejudice 4.5 Stars
I overrate this movie for sentimental concerns; my mother, sister, and I have seen the BBC and A&E interpretations dozens of times together as a strange but happy ritual. This version does a surprisingly good job of capturing the depth of character and overall atmosphere with a mere 2 hours of work.

An offbeat, yet endearing, performance. Though markedly "Indie," it manages to remain unassuming with earnest emotion and comedy. I'd love to see this movie again.

The reason I give this movie a high rating is mostly due to the fact that I think its approaching an important topic that is under-considered. The second best thing about this film is that it is relatively straightforward and stays on-task.

Horrible acting, but that's never why one watches a movie starring David Bowie. The creative vision is astounding.
