this cult b-movie its brilliant for its simplicity and erotism. Russ Meyer already had enchanted me with his personal view of women on Faster Pussycar Kill Kill, but this Vixen, although with a less solid story, its quite funnier. and Erica Gavin is fantastic. a film recommended for any b-movie fan.
sexy and funny, this is the way i describe this Russ Meyer's film. the shots and dialogs are unbelievable, though you may pretty much find them rude and primitive, thats what keep you thrilled the entire movie, and you wonder yourself how simple it was. I've been hearing Meyer was known for his sexy movies, almost perverted in a way, and by seeing Pussycat Kill! Kill! i can now surely say he's awesome in "sexyfying" the woman in an obsessed, kinky way. I mean, for example, the shots where he keeps the camera close below the girls waist, the shots when they dance or fight, or their characterization. terribly sexy.
very seductive and provocative. i simply loved the hommage by Bertolucci to the oldies. i admit i haven't seen much of Bertolucci's fimography, but i can already say this was not his best. yet, overall, a great film.
quite good and enjoyable, although, sincerely, i still felt somewhat disapointed. was expecting it to be five star worthy. can't wait to read the novel now.
Caligula is one hell of a porn film, above any other label. Of course orgies were a common thing in ancient Rome, and in alot more civilizations by then, and so there's absolutely no reason to produce any other, far from the truth, prudish depiction of the Roman living like Hollywood got people used to. And yes, the added sex scenes are a bit too excessive, too extravagant and too perverse, and there's controversy on that, but then wouldn't be a real portrayal of the history, specially on Caligula's reign.
this was damn sexy. a mountain of sensuality combined with such beautiful women, and an indian sitar soundtrack... this just couldn't go wrong... and although with a B movie concept, with in my opinion, a bad camera work with too much zooms, and missplaced shots, causing a bit confusing storyline, it was still quite amusing.. and i must add anyway that i liked this Franco style.
damn, Miike is such a fucked up mastermind... this was probably the sickest and fucked up thing i've ever got the chance to see. it wasn't bad, but i can't say i liked it either. and i reckon it has a meaning, although to understand it, it is needed to pass beyond the many perversed taboos shown, which can be quite hard for the less open-minded.
truly amazing! there's like big contrast feelings through out the whole film, the purity in one side, and the evil/perversion in the other, and thats absolutely brilliant. Dennis Hopper did one heck of a performance! one of the most sadistic, evil, mad characters i've seen, side to side with Kakihara (from Miike's Ichi The Killer).
