My Sister's Keeper (2009, PG-13)
This movie had a beautiful story thanks to author Jodi Picoult, however I don't think the script was written quite as well. The movie was sluggish and although highly emotive, the audience will disengage from it at time due to its slow momentum and sometimes uneventful plot. The actors involved where absolutely brilliant with Cameron Diaz and Alec Baldwin displaying some of their best work to date. It was indeed the cast that prevented the film from being a complete failure. It was a shame to see this story executed so poorly by both the scriptwriters and the director when this could easily have been one of the best and most powerful films of our time. |

Trick 'r Treat (2008, R)
Although the film was very well made and the both Michael Dougherty and Glen MacPherson did a fantastic job of filming this movie, the story was weak and messy. I think it would have been a much better film if Michael Dougherty had concentrated on developing a stronger single story rather than several underwritten stories. I don't think the movie deserves the hype it has been receiving and was left disappointed. |

Observe and Report (2009, R)
This was an incredibly stupid movie, yet for some strange reason, I couldn't help but like it at times, I cant stress enough that it was simply at times! It certainly had its moments but I think it was far to over the top and all the cast members were pretty shocking. There's a reason this movie did badly, and its a movie you needn't waste your time seeing. |

Inkheart (2009, PG)
This movie is a fantastic and magical journey. It is full of adventure and excitement. Its dramatic and full of intrigue. More surprisingly, this movie has wonderful story and character development. This is one of those great family films that only comes along once in a blue moon. Paul Bettany also deserves a special mention here for his outstanding performance in his role. |

Frost/Nixon (2008, R)
A superb high tension drama. This movie has an amazing storyline. Directed incredibly well by the talented Ron Howard and fantastically performed by Michael Sheen and Frank Langella. The script was missing the satirical humour that the stage play had which was a bit of a shame as this left the story a little dry in some stages but over all this is a great political drama. |

Australia (2008, PG-13)
Ok, the verdict...the movie had a great storyline but it was quite slow and probably shouldn't have gone as long as it did. Hugh Jackman was awesome as was 'Brandon Walters as Nullah. Nicole Kidman was flat nothing out of the ordinary there. The beginning was a bit too lyrical for my liking for this sort of feature. All in all it is an watchable film |

Never Back Down (2008, PG-13)
Not just another fight movie, this film has drama and heart, morals and a great back story. The acting was amazing as was the script. There is never a dull moment in this movie. A film that is sure to be enjoyed by fans of the fight genre and even by some of you who wouldn't ordinarily watch a movie like this. |

Appaloosa (2008, R)
After watching this movie, I think Ed Harris needs to stick to acting - not that he was particurlay brilliant in this moive, but then again neither was Renee Zellweger. Viggo Mortensen definately stole the show in that department. The movie was pretty boring and really slow. Didnt much care fot this film at all. |
