Austin Powers in Goldmember 3.5 Stars
It has its moments and the Dutch Goldfinger parody is classic, but the format is getting a bit long in the tooth.

This should have been the war movie to end all war movies. Beautifully shot and with a brooding ominous atmosphere throughout. It's a seminal combination of the absurdity of war together with the personal impact that's had both subtle and obvious influences on later films. For a movie that is so much about the journey the inconsequential end game seemed a bit too long, though that may just be because the Redux version made the journey so much longer.

Munich (2005,  R)
Munich 4.5 Stars
MOSSAD agents on a revenge mission following the murder of Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics. A powerful real-life story, intriguing plot, and very unique. It managed to piss off both the Israelis and the Palestinians, so it's got to be both a fair and fairly accurate portrayal of recent history. A great revenge thriller, with realistic action sequences, don't let the fact Spielberg directed this movie put you off.

Death Proof (Grindhouse Presents) (2007,  R)
Death Proof (Grindhouse Presents) 4.5 Stars
More like Death Porn, this is a movie of two halves. Tarantino took his stunt girls from Kill Bill and made a movie about them! His thematic style is exaggerated to make this present day story look like a real 70s film, and the music isn't quite as catchy as in his earlier work. The Tarantino dialogue seems false with these characters, but Kurt Russell and Zoe Bell (as herself) are fantastic, adding some humour to an otherwise dark movie.

I was always going to enjoy this one! The inspirational story of the Apollo moon landings entirely narrated by the astronauts themselves. Some of whom are really great story tellers, in particular Mike Collins' humour really makes this British documentary entertaining.

The Phil Collins movie where he both supplies the soundtrack and fills the lead role. A cheesy but loveable British 80s classic about the Great Train Robbery, set in my home locality.

Neverland: The Rise and Fall of the Symbionese Liberation Army(The Taking of Patty Hearst) 4.0 Stars
An amazing story about a piece of forgotten history from 70s America - the anarchists known as the Symbionese Liberation Army and the brainwashing of Patty Hearst, daughter of a media-mogul.
