Young Frankenstein (1974,  PG)
Young Frankenstein 5.0 Stars
What follows is my review of the movie Young Frankenstein, the first time I saw it in October of 2003.

Young Frankenstein is one of the most perfect comedy movies I have ever seen! It is superbly cast starring:

Gene Wilder as Dr. Frederick Frankenstein is masterful in his comic timing and delivery of his lines. The classroom scene is one of the best shticks I?ve seen in a long time. Just a side note: When I was in grade school, I played Dr. Frankenstein in a play where I called my creation by his nicknames of, sweetie pie? and ?snookums.?

There were two other reasons why it was perfect. It was my first time seeing it and at a brand new theater too, the AFI Silver in Silver Spring Maryland.

Fast Forward today 5/19/08. I watched some of the DVD's Special Features. They include:

A Wonderful 30-Minute Documentary on the Making of Young Frankenstein.

Very Amusing Mexican Interviews with Gene, Cloris and Marty.

Wonderful black and white stills from the movie.

Odd that this movie was marketed as a comedy. There are funny moments to be sure, but I would say it is more dramatic.
