South American Cinema

In this list, I have included also what is usually called Centro-America. In any case, places from where interesting directors are appearing, even getting a place into competitive anglo-saxon market. For example, Meirelles (The constant gardener, Blindness), Del Toro (Hellboy, Blade II), Cuarón (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Children of men), Campanella (some "House" episodes), Gónzález Iñarritu, etc... But this list is for the films that can be considered mainly South-American. I would also like to include the Spanish-Argentinan TV series "Vientos de agua".

Nine Queens (Nueve reinas)
Elegante revisitación de un clásico (el de la película de las grandes estafas), que nunca pasa de moda.

El Mismo amor, la misma lluvia (Same Love, Same Rain)
Although the idea is not bad, the actors are not bad, the whole film is not enough. Sorry, because I love the director

Elsa y Fred
Recomendada.

El Secreto de Sus Ojos (The Secret of Her Eyes)
Great! Incredible! Enormous Campanella! He takes a lawyers-thriller (Darín remembered to Al Pacino in his best times) and to a I-can-not-breathe-while-looking-it he adds wonderful touchs of poetry, tenderness and incisive humour. Although the rhytm is slow, you never get bored, as the script is incredible. Amazing sensation!
