The Sixth Sense (1999,  PG-13)
The Sixth Sense
I adored this movie when it first came out. Haley Joel Osment is an amazing actor. Anyone who begs to differ watch A.I as well.
2
Sleepy Hollow (1999,  R)
Sleepy Hollow
Loved this movie. Was totally brilliant, and consistent throughout. Definitely worth a watch!
3
The Nightmare Before Christmas (2008,  PG)
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Agh... The genius of Tim Burton!! If you wanna watch a Xmas movie then forget The bloody Grinch!!
4
Signs (2002,  PG-13)
Signs
Brilliant idea for an alien movie. Aliens and horror. Really good.
5
The Blair Witch Project (1999,  R)
The Blair Witch Project
Ground-breaking horror in it's time, and gave people in movie theatres motion sickness. LOL. Classic.
6
Tim Burton's Corpse Bride (2005,  PG)
Tim Burton's Corpse Bride
Brilliant animation, and story. Highly original viewing. As usual Mr Burton has done it again!
7
Donnie Darko (2001,  R)
Donnie Darko
Cult classic. Very depressing, but totally and darkly brilliant. It's gonna hurt your head, but effect you in my opinion.
8
An American Haunting (2006,  PG-13)
An American Haunting
I thought this was one of the best poltergeist movies I've ever seen and highly original! Very impressive, and the actress playing Betsy has done a role opposite from Wendy in Peter Pan as you can get! Brilliant!
9
Ghost Ship (2002,  R)
Ghost Ship
This movie has got the best opening sequence for any horror film!! C.mon. It deserves at least 3 stars for that!! Yummy!!
10
Ju-on: The Grudge (Ju-on 3) (2003,  R)
Ju-on: The Grudge (Ju-on 3)
The Grudge was spawned from this and tried to replicate it. Difference is that this movie is absolutely brilliant and freaky, and the Americanised version is lame!
11
The Eye (Gin gwai) (2002,  R)
The Eye (Gin gwai)
Asian horror at it's absolute finest. I bet the Americans will ruin this one too!! It is absolutely brilliant though, and well worth watching. Completely original and compelling.
12
Three...Extremes (Saam gaang yi) (2005,  R)
Three...Extremes (Saam gaang yi)
Three completely unrelated yet brilliant short horrow films. The stories are each inspired yet freaky in their own way. Dumplings is just a funny concept, and the other two are equally brilliant. Check this out!!
13
The Eye 2 (Gin gwai 2) (2004,  R)
The Eye 2 (Gin gwai 2)
What I love about this movie as a sequel is that the story is completely unrelated to the first film. It is a completely different concept. I love the fact that spirits are re-incarnated into babies as they are born. Brilliant idea.
14
Ringu ( Ring) (1998,  Unrated)
Ringu ( Ring)
This is far superior to the American re-make of The Ring, just as they always are! If you can't deal with subtitles then you must have issues, as you get the actors feelings through much better. Absolutely brilliant. Freaky as hell, and ground-breaking. The amount of movies this film has inspired is phenomenal!
15
Ringu 0 (2000,  Unrated)
Ringu 0
This movie is actually quite brilliant as a prequel. It really helps you out with the plot before. And it far better than Ringu 2, although not as good as the original. If you are a fan then I beg you to watch this!
16
Ringu 2 (1999,  Unrated)
Ringu 2
It's okay. It jumps about (not as much as The Ring 2) and there are times you may get lost. It isn't as good as Ringu or Ringu 0, but hey, it's okay. It's not the Americanised crap, so you can enjoy it hopefully!
17
Dark Water (2002,  PG-13)
Dark Water
This is a very good movie. It is quite slow in paces, but the story is original, and the film is well shot, well acted, with perfect effects. Watch this. Don't watch the re-make with Ms Connelly.
18
The Garbage Pail Kids Movie (1987,  PG)
The Garbage Pail Kids Movie
For me it's a classic from when I was younger. I collected the stickers (they're still around somewhere!) and put them all over my cupboard. This film is pretty awful in a lot of respects, but it's so bad it makes it bloody good in my opinion! So, I love it!!
19
Ghost Busters (Ghostbusters) (1984,  PG)
Ghost Busters (Ghostbusters)
One of my fave films when I was younger. Sigourney Weaver is wicked possessed!! I want a giant marshmallow shaped as Stay Puffed!!
20
Ghostbusters 2 (1989,  PG)
Ghostbusters 2
Classic trashy fare. You have to love Ghostbusters and number two!
21
Ju-on: The Grudge 2 (2003,  R)
Ju-on: The Grudge 2
It isn't as good as Ju-On, but it's still brilliant Japanese horror. Much better than The Grudge or The Grudge 2!! Americans spoiling perfectly good foreign cinema by doing re-makes. Tsk Tsk...
22
Darkness (2002,  PG-13)
Darkness
Hmm... It's good, but there are similar films that are far better than this one! Not bad, but not great to be honest. Watchable. Didn't really enjoy the ending, but there were some good moments.
23
The Exorcist (1973,  R)
The Exorcist
This movie is a total horror classic. It caused such an uproar, and Ellen and Linda's performances in this are second to none! Ground-breaking viewing. None of the sequels could live up to this original though.
24
Half Light (2005,  R)
Half Light
I have to say I quite enjoyed this. I sadly didn't see the twists coming, so hey, maybe I'm gullible! It's a very watchable supernatural fliack. Check it out.
25
Flatliners (1990,  R)
Flatliners
I love the concept of this movie, and it's a classic I've been meaning to watch for ages. It's a shame then that it was quite a disappointment. Another good film that should have been a great film.
26
Pulse (2006,  PG-13)
Pulse
I was kind of pleasantly surprised... Most American re-makes of Asian cinema are completely awful, but this one was okay. Still not great, but okay. I did jump a couple of times. Kairo is still better though, but thankyou for putting Ian Somerhalder in... Yummy!!
27
Pulse (Kairo) (2001,  Unrated)
Pulse (Kairo)
Very original, and freaky like any Asian horror should be. I'm sorry, but they do freaky so much better than the Americans. Definitely one to check out if you haven't.
28
The Messengers (2007,  PG-13)
The Messengers
A very bizarre movie with an odd concept! Great effects though, and it did actually kind of work I guess. I was gripped, but still not sure it FULLY explained itself.
29
The Chumscrubber (2005,  R)
The Chumscrubber
This movie is one of the best movies I have ever seen. It's dark but funny, has an amazing cast, and the whole story-line goes together well whilst still being believable. It could actually happen, and you never know what is going on behind closed doors. Can't praise this movie and Jamie Bell enough!!
30
Lady in the Water (2006,  PG-13)
Lady in the Water
I really started off not enjoying it, but it really is a complete original fairy tale put into movie form. It was really interesting they way it all unfolded, and I ended up being pretty impressed. This is a fantasy you can get caught up in, unlike Bridge to Teribithea...
31
The Gathering (2006,  R)
The Gathering
Hmm... It's a real shame this movie isn't great as it throws around good ideas and doesn't really pull them off. Just okay.
32
The Haunting (1999,  PG-13)
The Haunting
Hmm... Shame that the cast is so good, as are the effects, but it just fails to impress me at all. A big pile of spooky doo. Although if you wanna see Owen Wilson get beheaded it's so worth watching!!
33
White Noise 2: The Light (2007,  PG-13)
White Noise 2: The Light
I did actually really enjoy this movie, although the ending was a bilt confusing and pretty lame. There were times I thought it was very clever, and other points where the genius was completely lost. At least it was a completely different idea to the first one.
34
Stay Alive (2006,  PG-13)
Stay Alive
I actually thoroughly enjoyed it! It has a great B List cast and is incredibly original in a way, using computer graphics so much. I alwfays loved this one death on one of the Nightmare On Elm Street movies where a kid is sucked into a game, and this kinda reminds me of that. Worth checking.
35
The Reaping (2007,  R)
The Reaping
I thought I could hate this, but it was actually pretty well done with some great actors, so I'm impressed. Fairly original with the holy twists, but good. Not great.
36
In Dreams (1998,  R)
In Dreams
There are times I forget just what a brilliant actress Annette Bening is. This is a brilliant psychologic thriller, and both her and Robert Downey Jnr are brilliant. A great movie packed with suspense that makes you wonder what will happen next!
37
Premonition (2007,  PG-13)
Premonition
This movie was good, although confusing at times. Sandra was absolutely brilliant, but I do wish this movie was a lot better. The kids were good little actresses too.
38
Silent Hill (2006,  R)
Silent Hill
If you wanna see a decent video game converted into a movie that does it justice then watch this. It's unlike any movie you will ever watch, and the performance and artistic quality are simply stunning! A hauntingly beautiful movie...
39
Night Watch (Nochnoi Dozor) (2006,  R)
Night Watch (Nochnoi Dozor)
This is one of the best foreign supernatural horrors you will have seen, and maybe the only Russian movie you will have seen! This has some of the best cinematogrphy I have ever seen with just brilliant effects and characters. I can't gush about it more... See it... It won't disappoint!!
40
Cronos (1994,  R)
Cronos
You can see the way the genius that is Pan's Labyrinth would come about in this great directorial debut of del Toro. This is like a more modern Nosferatu... It has so many under-currents like addiction, eternal youth, and love bringing you through becoming a full monster. Very clever and scary beautiful movie...
41
The Return (2006,  PG-13)
The Return
Ugh... This movie is hard to watch... Even for Sarah/Buffy fans like myself. I nearlt turned it off in the first twenty minutes, but didn't... It got better but in the way a rash gets better, you put something on it and it then doubles in size and irritation... The three words I can use are... 'What a shame'
42
The Invasion (2007,  PG-13)
The Invasion
I actually thoroughly injoyed this movie and thought it was like an alien version of 28 Days Later... The acting was brilliant, as I thought was the story-line. Many will disagree, but I highly recommend it... Well deserved paranoia thrown in for good measure, which I usually hate in movies!
43
Dead Silence (2007,  R)
Dead Silence
This movie should either be called "Horror Movie for Dummies", or "You're A Complete Dummy for Watching This!" which is a shame as so much more could have been done with it! I suggest watching "The Puppetmaster" and it's sequels as they scared me when I first started watching horror aged fourteen, and have a much better premise...
44
The Entity (1982,  R)
The Entity
This movie was incredibly well acted. It must have been extremely difficult for the main actress to put herself through the stress of the distressing scenes. Really quite disturbing and dramatic. Only main flaw is maybe it was a bit too long, but I was quietly impressed...
45
Beneath (2007,  Unrated)
Beneath
This was actually pretty well done> I was quite impressed. Freaky in places as it should be. Shame there wasn't more. Very twisted the way I like. Extremely original piece of freak that definitely isn't to be sniffed at!
46
El Orfanato (The Orphanage) (2007,  R)
El Orfanato (The Orphanage)
This is one amazing movie that keeps you guessing. What is happening next? What did happen to her son? I did guess the ending, but obviously not to the extent. This is a movie that becomes an experience. It is so good that I was moved to tears! That doesn't usually happen for a movie like this. Even if films like this disturb you, if you watch this you'll be glad you did.
47
Return to the House on Haunted Hill (2002,  R)
Return to the House on Haunted Hill
This may be a load of drivel, but it is highly watchable drivel! The deaths were pretty bloody good, and I mean bloody! I didn't find that I cared that much about any of the characters really, as they didn't have enough dimensions. A couple of the ghosts looked really good too. Not a bad movie just to pass some time.
48
The Ruins (2008,  R)
The Ruins
It's like Day of the Triffids meets Invasion of the Bodysnatchers meets the Aztecs... And not in a good way most of the time... The acting and effects are good, but it's bizarre, and although the tension is great at times it leaves you wanting more than some acidic ivy that feeds off humans! Original, but a bit ruined...
49
Awake (2007,  R)
Awake
This is one of my worst nightmares... Being put under and knowing that you are being operated on. Freaky, but this movie is weirdly spliced together with consciences mixing and flashbacks, and it also ends abruptly. The jury is out...
50
Solstice (2007,  PG-13)
Solstice
How annoying?! An attractive up-and-coming young cast sign up to this shite! I'd be gutted! The last twenty five minutes is the most interesting, but it's not that great... The acting was pretty good but this is like a Point Horror book that you finished reading and left the bitter after-taste of unsatisfaction in your mouth...
51
The Astronaut's Wife (1999,  R)
The Astronaut's Wife
Talk about an amazingly freaky movie... Very well acted by both! Not exactly the kind of film you want to watch again and again, but really good. Yes, people are going to keep making "Rosemary's Baby" comparisons, and fair enough, but it is a good twisted film with two amazing actors...
52
The Covenant (2006,  PG-13)
The Covenant
I need myself a hot Wicca man RIGHT now!! Hell yeah... Is it getting hot in here or is that just the whole cast? Oh the movie... I liked it!! Didn't explain itself completely but hey... Did I mention how hot the cast is?? The film ain't that hot though....
53
Over Her Dead Body (2008,  PG-13)
Over Her Dead Body
I didn't think this was bad at all for a rom com. I did laugh out loud in certain places and enjoyed it, which surprised me! You could definitely do worse for an hour and a half than watch this movie!
54
Shrooms (2008,  Unrated)
Shrooms
This was definitely nearly as much of a disappointment as I had heard in every review. There were slight moments where it was funny of scary, but they really were few and far between. It wasn't fluid, although, with the subject matter I wasn't expecting it to be that much... Another movie with just too much paranoia, and also... I predicted the ending at the campfire story-time... I'm just gonna go drop some shrooms and eat some noodles now...
55
Drag Me to Hell (2009,  PG-13)
Drag Me to Hell
This movie is bloody genius! I loved it! I don't think I have ever jumped so much watching a film! It is pure cheese in places, and quite gratuitous, but it completely works. You don't need to take it seriously, because it doesn't take itself seriously. The bitch fight between Christine, and the old woman is cinematic gold... Reminiscent of the fight in Death Becomes Her. This movie is a must-see! Just make sure you take a valium first...
56
Tormented (2009,  R)
Tormented
One of the best Brit horrors I've seen in a while! The cast is hot, the deaths are bloody, and some parts are a bit comical. Like Marmite you'll either love it or hate it! It's Skins meets any teen slasher! If you killed yourself after being bullied at school, wouldn't you reek revenge on your attackers? I would. Enjoyably evil.
57
The Children (2008,  R)
The Children
Wow... Kids really can be scary... And this movie proves it. Village of the Damned and The Exorcist eat your heart out. Bit more the girls in The Shining. FREAKY!! SO well edited it's untrue. Makes me think twice about working for Disney again. It's ashame it's not explained why all this is happening, but I applaud this film, and thought it was sheer genius.
58
Coraline (2009,  PG)
Coraline
I think this would have been better had I watched it in 3D at the cinema. It's a good movie, and the animation is second to none! It's like the alternative family movie that you aren't really supposed to understand. Maybe an Alice in Wonderland, but on slightly more acid & Magic Mushrooms... Intriguing...
59
The Uninvited (2009,  PG-13)
The Uninvited
Hmmm.... Crap. Well acted crap, but crap. Unispired crap that took a mix off 'Single White Female' and 'Gothika' and ended up being the worst part of both in the ends.... A crying shame. Not impressed! AT ALL...
