Remember the Titans (2000,  PG)
Remember the Titans 4.5 Stars
Not what I was expecting at all. It spoke loud about a serious issue that needs to be tackled. No pun intended. Denzel Washington's performance was very powerful. I don't think it would have been quite the film it was without him. The other actors pulled it all together nicely. It was nice to see a young Hayden Panettiere as well, just as her career is taking off. Verg good performance from her, considering her age at the time. Although his character was only seen a couple of times, I loved Ryan Gosling. Even with such a short screen time you can tell he really is a great actor. It gives you chills throughout and it has just the right amount of sad and happy moments.

Wimbledon (2004,  PG-13)
Wimbledon 4.0 Stars
Really good romantic comedy. I love tennis so i suppose that helps a little. Fairly good performances from Kirsten Dunst and Paul Bettany. Paul is a brilliant actor but i don't feel that he gave his best performance here. While watching the film I was rather impressed with Kirsten and Paul's tennis skills. I did however find out later on that the tennis ball was CGI. Little disappointed.

Really great film. Fantastic performance from all the actors. Especially Paul Newman. Wasn't quite sure if I was going to enjoy it but I did, I really did. A must see for just about everyone.

Happy Gilmore (1996,  PG-13)

I've seen this so many times now and it never seems to get old. I love Adam Sandler's earlier films. His new ones are no where near as good. I'm not a golf fan which I think is important because this film really isn't just for golf fans. Sandler gives a brilliant performance that is seriously funny and sweet at the same time. It really is him at his best. Christopher McDonald is brilliant as the paranoid Shooter. The other actors give decent performances as well. An extremely worth while watch.

The Waterboy (1998,  PG-13)
The Waterboy 3.5 Stars
This has to be one of Adam Sandler's best films. It has everything. It's extreamly funny and is probably Adam Sandler at his best. I've never really liked Kathy Bates as an actress. There was always something about her that scared me. That is why I feel she is completely perfect for this character. I don't feel that anyone could have played it better than Kathy Bates. The plot is entertaining and even from reading about it on paper you know it is going to be funny. This is a must see film for everyone no doubt.

Bend It Like Beckham (2002,  PG-13)
Bend It Like Beckham 4.0 Stars
I'm not a David Beckham fan but I did enjoy this film. I couldn't really get into it the first time I watched it but on a second viewing I changed my mind. Thats why i'm re-reviewing it. Its still not one of Keira Knightley's best films but it was one of her first starring roles so it can't really be compared to her newer films. Its an enjoyable film.

She's the Man (2006,  PG-13)
She's the Man 3.5 Stars
Ok, so it's stupid and predictable, but I liked it. The performances weren't great and the plot was far from original but i still liked it. I suppose i can't really justify that but I can't help it. It is simple and uncomplicated and sometimes you need to watch films like that.

Goal! The Dream Begins (2006,  PG)

A lot better than I expected it to be. I loved that they used real English Premiereship teams. The ending was good and although I wanted him to make the free kick I still in my heart wanted Liverpool to win. I suppose you'd love this film if you support Newcastle but for any other team you'd want his team to lose. It is also just a little unbelieveable in my opinion that Newcastle would win the premiereship.

Cool Runnings (1993,  PG)
Cool Runnings 3.5 Stars
I used to watch this a lot when I was younger. It's close to the perfect children's movie. But on top of that it isn't completely aimed at kids. John Candy was a brilliant comedy actor and everything he does, in my opinion, appeals to adults as well. Seriously enjoyable film with an odd plot that just from reading you know you're going to not only enjoy but find it extreamly funny as well.

Typical 80's film. Winona Ryder's first ever screen appreacnce and although you don't really get to see too much of her, she does a pretty good job. Perfect for her character anyway. Corey Haim gives a good performance and although i've not seen too many of his films, he's definatly interested me in watching them from this pretty strong and decent performance. Charlie Sheen doesn't exactly impress and none of the other actors seem to stand out long enough to impress anyone. It's a decent film but nothing special. Perhaps worth one watch just to see Winona in her first role.

Coach Carter (2005,  PG-13)
Coach Carter 3.0 Stars
Decent film that is at times a little too strong with the inspiration. Don't be fooled that this film is a basketball story because it is far for that. That could only be considered the setting for the story itself. So if that was the reason you were put off of this film, you really should check it out. Decent performance from Sam Jackson, who plays a coach who gives a basketball team lessons in life as well as sport. As I said some of the lines in it are slightly over the top but at times, films like that are good to watch and definatly necessary for young people today. If you liked Dead Poets Society, while not being quite as good, this is definatly to be considered. The kids that play the guys all do a very good job and like the coach you get to see past their characters thuggish attitudes and realise they all have a lot of potential. I can understand why you wouldn't want to watch it but I believe it's one of those films you just have to watch at least once.
