Stephen King
The best movies in my opinion! He deserves his own list, don't you think?

Stephen King's The Stand (, Unrated)
Very good adaption of one of Stephen King's longest novels. Doing it as a miniseries meant they could keep a lot more of the material in the movie, which is wonderful. There's a whole bunch of well known actors in here, and they all do a great job. Jamey Sheridan especially does a great job as Randall Flagg, one of King's best villains ever. |

A good horror movie but maybe dragged on a little long. All the acting was first rate, John Cusack carries the picture by himself and does an excellent job. I probably wouldn't watch again though, so only 3 stars for me. A great horror movie is one you can watch over and over again, this one isn't it. Definitely worth a watch though! |

The Mist (2007, R)
This movie would have been awesome, but I am just so conflicted about the ending. Downer? for sure! Tragic? yes. Why did Frank Darabont have to wreck it like that? If he'd just stuck with King's ending....but anyways. Great characters, especially Marcia Gay Harden, she was terrific! Thomas Jane got to be a little annoying though, everyone else was perfect, loved the man who played Ollie Weeks. Great special effects and great monsters as well, liked the added scene in the pharmacy, that was a cool scene. Probably wouldn't watch again, just because the ending is so depressing. It's like a punch in the gut. |

Dreamcatcher (2003, R)
This was a good movie, i liked it more than the first time I saw it. I think it helped that I just read the book. Characters and acting were great, but I could have done without the awful British accent that Mr. Gray puts on. I also could have done without the ridiculous ending, I'm sure the book ending would have worked if they'd rewritten it a bit. Plot was good, but it seemed like it would've been hard for people who hadn't read the book to understand what was going on. It would have worked better as a miniseries, I think because of the huge amount of stuff they left out. To me, it was like watching the beginning of a movie and then skipping to the ending. It felt like a really rushed ending. But still an interesting movie with good acting! |

Firestarter (1984, R)
Definitely not as good as the book! I found it very disjointed and condensed at times. Drew Barrymore was good as Charlie but she grated on my nerves at times, her character was a little whiny. I don't know why they had the stupid special effects like David Keith having to grab his head every time he used his power, and Charlie's hair blowing around. They also changed some plot stuff and I don't know why. But it was still entertaining and fun to watch! |

Sleepwalkers (1992, R)
The first time seeing Madchen Amick and Alice Krige, two of my favorite actresses. I really like the special effects in this movie, and i like Madchen Amick's character, she fights back against Brian Krause when he tries to kill her. Also the cameos from other horror directors/authors are priceless. |
