Carrie (1976,  R)
Carrie
This one is a classic. I could never forget the very scary Sissy Spacek. She really gives me the creeps in this film.
But you have to admit: it's simply unnecessary and unfair to kill those few who want to help her out! And Jeeeze, what a mother actress Piper Laurie is portraying.

Stephen King's Cat's Eye (1985,  PG-13)

Children of the Corn (1984,  R)
4
Children of the Corn II: The Final Sacrifice (1993,  R)
5
Christine (1983,  R)

This one makes me think about Maximum Overdrive and the movie is hardly better. Machines come to life, trucks come to life and here a beatiful old-timer comes to life and kills.
Anything new? Nope.

Cujo (1983,  R)

Dolores Claiborne (1995,  R)

I own this one on VHS. Wonderful and touching story by a terrific Kathy Bates. Has to be watched again because this VHS movie is too good to gather dust.

Stephen King reaaally should quit drinking!!!
This movie was quite scary but somehow I knew what to expect because I have seen many stories based on Stephen King books... There are special effects but it's not exaggerating, Therefore it's not boring but still funny. If you have seen many similar movies in this genre, they all get a bit funny.
At the start I thought that it was scarier then The Overlook Hotel in Stanley Kubrick's The Shining, but on the whole this movie was not scarier at all.
In the end the plot is a bit twisted. Interesting.
I was a bit disappointed that Samuel L. Jackson had such a small role. John Cusack was very good, I enjoyed seeing him like this.
So I had a great time watching this flick sitting entirely alone in theatre! It could be a very scary experience but it really wasn't.
So no full five stars.

Stephen King's It (1990,  Unrated)
Stephen King's It
After Stanley Kubrick's The Shining and The Green Mile in my opinion the best Stephen King story on screen ever released.
This tale takes three hours to tell but it feels like an hour. No second of boredom. The acting is superb of all children and adult actors involved, The plot has no holes, the directing is fabulous. The switching back and forth between now and then is very well made.
I have owned this movie on VHS since I was 16 and recently bought it on DVD. I used to be very scared but when I watched it tonight I hardly jumped. Maybe I've watched it too often and knew what was coming?
Anyway, that doesn't matter. I always feel very sad though when I see young actor Jonathan Brandis and his tragic end in real life. I can't stop thinking about that.
Rest in peace Jonathan Brandis & John Ritter.

Maximum Overdrive (1986,  R)
Maximum Overdrive
I own this one on VHS. I bought it 15 years ago and this movie is really not worth watching, unless you're a die hard Stephen King fan. This film is full of stupid and screaming dumb women, so toally irritating. And the rebel appearance of Emilio Estevez hardly rises the quality of a movie only made for men.
12
Misery (1990,  R)
13
Needful Things (1993,  R)
Needful Things
Booooring! A typical Stephen King movie, exagerating, extremely strange scenes lead to even more stranger and rarer scenes... When I was younger I thought these movies were exciting but now it seems that I've seen more than enough movies based on Stephen King novels!
14
Pet Sematary (1989,  R)
Pet Sematary
Seen it plenty of times on VHS. It keeps being very scary, especially after actor Dale Midkiff opens his son's grave and his evil ghost starts to kill. It scares the hell out of me. Yeah it's one of better King stories made into film.
15
Salem's Lot (2004,  PG-13)
Salem's Lot
A typical movie about vampirism. Something we all have seen before. But it is a good attempt to be scary, I would have been scared ten years ago but not anymore.
I expected a much better movie when I bought this DVD!
16
Secret Window (2004,  PG-13)
Secret Window
It wasn't scary enough for me but it did have a nice plot which I liked. Yes Johnny Depp is creepy enough to act in a story written by Stephen King.
17
Sleepwalkers (1992,  R)
18
Sometimes They Come Back (1991,  R)
19
Sometimes They Come Back... Again (1996,  R)

Stand by Me (1986,  R)
Stand by Me
This is the only Stephen King story without any reference to horror or the supernatural. And I liked it very much because the characters in this story are very believable and they are well played by four very good young actors. There's simply no room for irritation in this movie. The scenery is beautiful and the story is innocent and strong. Definitely worth watching.

The Dead Zone (1983,  R)
22
The Green Mile (1999,  R)
The Green Mile
Best Stephen-King-book-turned-into-movie-script I have seen so far. All the actors make a deep impression on me and I discovered lovely Sam Rockwell in this one!
23
The Langoliers (1995,  PG-13)
The Langoliers
This story makes me think of It only this movie is not so interesting as It. Certainly there's happening a lot and as usual one by one is eliminated. Unbelievable story and quite original but not very emotional.
24
The Lawnmower Man (1992,  R)
25
The Mangler (1994,  R)
The Mangler
I have seen this film once and it wasn't good enough for me to remember the plot. Could have been directed a bit more professionally... maybe.
26
The Mist (2007,  R)
The Mist
I have seen so many movies based on Stephen King novels. In every story some topics come back, one of them is the country people obsessed with religion. I almost screamed in theatre because I was so irritated on that woman. This story was predictable except for the end. A very sad end, not the end I expected.
Anyway, this movie is not highly recommended by me but surely enough just acceptable.
27
The Night Flier (1998,  R)
28
The Shawshank Redemption (1994,  R)
The Shawshank Redemption
From all the movies based on Stephen King novels this is my absolute favourite. A must see movie. So beautiful. Great actors!
29
The Shining (1980,  R)
The Shining
There will never be made any better horror movie than this one! For sure! This movie is awfully CREEPY. I've seen it at least 10 times, watched it today again, and it is still as creepy as the first time. That's because of the SCARY soundtrack during the entire movie and the incomparable acting abilities of Jack Nicholson, who is even more creepy than the background sound.
The story is not entirely the same as the one Stephen King wrote down, but I like this Kubrick adaptation much better than the story in the book!
Amazing horror flick.
Five stars is not enough.

The Tommyknockers (1993,  R)
The Tommyknockers
I like this adaptation of this Stephen King novel. Not the best film adaptation but certainly not the worst. Rather exciting and I wanted absolutely to know the secret although the answer wasn't as shocking as I expected. And then it even started to be a little bit cliché and predictable.
I have not read the book, maybe I should give it a try.

Thinner (1996,  R)
