My Rating |
| 1 |
one of the best examples of true Americana films. Hold up over the years. Truly amazing.
|
|
| 2 |
A great sequel to one of the best superhero films. Under-rated cause of the Donner affair.
|
|
| 3 |
its more a Pryor comedy than a Superman film. But its way better than part4!
|
|
| 4 |
The one that sealed the fate of this dying franchise. So bad its good though.
|
|
| 5 |
I think this is a great continuation of the Donner film. The weak point in the film though is Kate Bosworths portrayle of Lois Lane.
Kevin Spacey own Luthor! Brandon Routh does a exellent job summoning the soirit of Reeves.

Batman
(1989, PG-13)
Not as good as what i originally thought at the age of 15. But its still better than a Joel Schumacher installment.

The talk is that this film is doing incredibly well and breaking all records because it has the 'Ledger Death Hype'. Iam not going to say thats completely untrue, but this film is so fucking awsome that it would of done just as well with out all the controversy. This is by far the best Batman film ever! Its so incredibly well done that i dont know if a third one could be as good. Nolan juggles all the material better than anybody else could have done. There are several stories going on and not once does any of them become muddled and confusing. There are basicaly two films that could of been made from the material and Nolan combines the two flawlessly for one perfect picture.
Ledgers Joker makes Nicholsons look about as threatening as Ceaser Romero's in the old 60's t.v. show. Ledger is the ultimate Joker. He's scary, unpredictable and completely out of his mind. Never will this Joker be topped! And Eckharts Harvey 'Two-Face ' is pretty damn good too. A major-major improvment on Tommy Lee Jones's awful Two-face in Batman Forever. Of course Bale, Caine, Freeman and Oldman do their finest too. The Dark Knight is a very hard PG-13. Its very violent, alot of people die and its scary at times. Iam suprised it got away with as much as it did and got such a rating.

Man when i was a kid this was THE SHIT! I loved this t.v movie. His web shooters were like rollex watches. And he faught ninjas. This went on to become a very short lived t.v. series.
I havnt seen this in years and i should probably keep it that way. Its probably alot cheesier than i remember it being.

Raimi faithfully brings the web head to the screen. I love this film and other than the goblins look cant think of any thing that could be wrong with it. Perct sammy, perfect!

I always though Larry Drake(Dr. Giggles) was born to play Doc Ock....till i saw Alfred "throw me the whip, ill throw you the idle" Molina in character. This film kicks ass on so many levels.

First off seeing the Sandman on the big screen is amazing!! I almost pulled my junk out to give it a couple strokes when he first appeared in Sandman form! His first steps as the Sandman are without a doubt one of the finest moments in cinematic history!
The first hour or so of Spider man 3 are some of the best moments in the whole trilogy. His first fight with the Sandman, the whole fight between him and Harry. It was all perfect.
But really for me the only real losing moment came when Parker went to M.J.'s work and played piano. That was truelly uninspired. I could take the M.J. song numbers and the whole funky strut sequence...but c'mon Raimi what the hell was that!!!
That aside, Spider-Man 3 is every bit as good as i thought it would be. One thing to note is that Raimi has been very outspoken on the fact that Venom was a character he wasnt really interested in doing. And it kinda shows cause he's really reduced to a minor character. Hey it didnt bother me, as far as iam concerned. I love the old school spidey villians like Doc Ock, The Lizard, Electro etc.. Venom just never seemed to get the love Raimi gave to the Sandman.
One more thing....I know Raimi is a big fan of my reveiws, so ill say it here first....Raimi, babe, spidey 4!?..forget all that Carnage crap...Ben Kingsley as The Vulture......c'mon huh?
The second time around Spidey 3 wasnt as fullfilling as the first. I noticed a hell of alot more flaws. The ending is pretty bogged down with too many charaters. I still like spidey 3 a hell of alot but its not 4 1/2 star film, like i had previously given it. I blame the studio heads for this entertaining mess.

Hulk
(2003, PG-13)
Incredibly under-rated. This film is a masterpeice! I guess no one wanted a good story...just action? I hope people get their heads out of their asses and realize it doesnt get much better than this!

I wasnt expecting much from this when i heard they were gonna use the guy who directed one of The Transporter films, but to my suprise The Incredible Hulk is a damn fine film. Its in no way on the same poetic level as Ang Lee's vision, but its still a great time. Ed Norton fits the Bruce Banner character much better than Bana. Although i think Bana did a fantastic job, Norton has the look of the Banner in the comics more so than Bana did. And as good of an actor that William Hurt is, Sam Elliot's Thunderbolt Ross was the shit!!
The story starts off with a fast pace that only really lets up for a couple moments later into the film. Theres plenty of hat tipping to the old t.v. show that should please fans of that turd. And the action sequences are fantastic. Its nice to see a action film were the use of shakey cam is minimal!! I loved Abomination. And the set up for the next villian is fantastic. And i cant wait to see him come to life on the screen.
The cgi is pretty off for the most part. Lee's was much more convincing. This one looked to much like a cartoon most of the time. There were a couple scenes were Hulk looked great, but only a couple. I can overlook this flaw. Ive seen worse CGI in much bigger bugeted films.

For fans of the t.v. show only! This was the first of marvels attempt to bring other superheros from the marvel universe onto the show. This one had Thor. It was bad. You could see they were attempting to possibly give him his own show.

|

This Hulk telefilm had Dardevil in it. Again only for fans of the t.v. show.

This was freaking awful. They killed off the Hulk in a way that would only piss him off more and make him stronger.

X-Men
(2000, PG-13)
Flawed but still a great film. It basically kick started the whole comic-film trend.

X2
(2003, PG-13)
The best of the three. X2 kicks ass in every way possible.
|
|

Upon second veiwing, i didnt think X3 was the peice of shit i originally thought! Thats not to say i think its a great film. But it is fun. I think alot of the characters were handle with out care. The ending still manages to piss me off. On the plus side..seeing Angel, Colossus and Beast was awsome.

I saw this in the theatre and really enjoyed it. Bought it when it came out on DVD, watched it and said to myself, "WHat the Fu** was I thinking!" I then proceeded to force Icy Hot deep penetrating Muscle cream into my urithra. I think i learned my lesson.
Example of a bad film. Ben 'is my toupee' on straight' Affleck and Jennifer '

Stylish. Probably the first full length film from Rodriguez that i actually loved. Not that hes a shit director, i just never saw anything by him that demanded his reputation. But this is definatly the film worthy of giving him cult status. Willis, Rourke and Owen all kick major ass here.

I need to re-watch this film. But really enjoyed it the first time around

I wasnt expecting anything more than an overstylized film. But i liked it. I think the films benifited actually from the stylization. Its hard to make a film like this and have all kinds of "creatures" and not be stylized in some way or another. I dont think it was the greatest film ever made...but definatly a very fun film. This film is one long BLOODY action sequence. Normally i would be turned off by that. But it works just fine here. I would probably see it again before it left the screen. I dont know how well it would hold up on a small screen. One complaint....this is a very LOUD film.

ultra violent comic book film. Verhoeven intelligently peppers this with intelligance.
|

Robocop2 is hated by alot of people, I think this is just as good as the original. I would of loved to of seen the original ultraviolent cut.

Pretty much a lost film to the mainstream. But if your a geek like me you can find a copy at the closest Con. Alright the Roger Corman produced FF is definatly a flawed film. The acting is bad, the effects are almost as bad as the acting. BUT this film has heart. Its way better than that shit Hollywood put out in 05. For the budget this film was made on its a wonder they could pull half of the shit off that they did. Seriously..this was made with heart on a budget that would only buy most a can of peas.

I really couldnt make it through this. I would rather watch my bootleg copy of Roger Cormans early 90's version. At least that one had heart!

First, i never even made it all the way through the first film. I fell asleep during it and never bother to rewatch it. What i did see was awfull. So i had really low expectations going into this one.
If you can turn your brain off for about 1 1/2 hr's you will find the Rise Of The Silver Surfer is a fun film. Of course the human drama is badly done. The dialogue is childish. The acting is horrible. And the guy playing Victor Von Doom is about as threatening as Jim Varney! But for some odd reason i really enjoyed this film!? It captured the cheesey fun of the comics for me. Although iam sure there are comic geeks who would disagree. But fuckem. I liked it. I think i might give the first one a second chance now.

The best of the three. Great effects and a cool comic book story.

ultra cool Bava film. Fab sets and lighting. Bava is a genius at camera shots. Fun and campy.

The best Schwarzenegger film ever made. (Maybe because his dialogue is limited)
A film i truly love.
