Ghostbusters (1984, PG)
Where can I start on my favourite movie of all time, there are not enough superlatives I can say about this one Ghostbusters is just simply incredible, as it blends almost every genre into one with comedy being its greatest attribute, but also thrown in to this enjoyable pot is action, horror, romance and whole bunch of other stuff that makes Ghostbusters one of the best movie experiences ever. Although this has happy nostalgia over it, as this one a film I have grown-up with since I was a kid and watched periodically every year since I was 3-4. It still remains as great as it did in 84. Every time i view it I pick-up some more of the comedy involved. Just brilliant! |

12 Angry Men (Twelve Angry Men) (1957, Unrated)
12 Angry Men is a fine example of a great combination of acting, direction and writing; 3 essential elements to a film. The way in which this is conveyed and produced by those that worked on the film is of zenith proportions. |

Convict 13 (1920, Unrated)
Convict 13 is great Buster Keaton flick, full of ingenious slapstick comedy mastered greatly by Keaton. It must be said his physical comedy cannot be mirrored or match. Convict 13 follows Keatons change of identity throughout, it can also be said that Keaton is a amster of situation comedies as he conjures some of the best situations in comedy history including Convict 13. |

Syriana (2005, R)
This is a very intense and well researched political thriller that boasts realism. I found it an interesting diessection of the behind the scenes of the oil trade and negotians, and the power struggles that ensue. Syriana is the most difficult film to follow and understand, but it is a revelation in my opinion, it has an automatic re-watch value due to his comprehensive and involving plot and information. |

Howl's Moving Castle (2005, PG)
Howl's Moving Castle is a rich, ambient animation with exceedingly good animation. Miyazaki's vision and direction enables this film to transcend above many other animations and proves that Japanese are superior than that of the west for this genre. I found this better than Spirited Away but not as good or compelling as Princess Mononoke. |

The Station Agent (2003, R)
The Station Agent is a bittersweet drama focusing the developing relationship of three different people. Peter Dinklage is well casted for the main role, which I must say is unorthodox to see a dwarf as the primary protangonist in a drama and not a fantasy. It is good to see this and his performance was great along with the supporting cast, both Patricia Clarkson and Bobby Cannavale are fitting in thier roles and add to the diveristy in this film. The character development I find is excellent too. Overall, great and original drama which keeps the viewer wanting elaboration. |

New Police Story (San ging chaat goo si) (2004, Unrated)
A darker more uncomprimising background/plot is the set of this installment of Police Story which is different to its predecessors. Jackie Chan visits a familiar role with great action and stunt set pieces. I found the film to be good on most fronts with a rather high production value, the plot like most other action movies was always going to be farfetched but the movie is enjoyable paced well throughout. its great to see Jackie still doing great stunts and action choreograpghy with decent acting after so many years. Recommended for fans of this genre |

Renaissance (2006, R)
Renaissance is an involving techno crime thriller, whih i think lives up to its hype. The most striking point to make about the film is its aesthetics. The noir-styled tone which creates mood and atmosphere heightens this films feel and the viewers engrossment. |
