1
Dirty Harry (1971,  R)
Dirty Harry
Clint Eastwood plays a tough cop nick-named Dirty Harry since he doesn't go by the rules. He's up against a mad-man who will kill any random person until he gets paid.

I have enjoyed checking out the old school Clint Eastwood films that I haven't seen. No one plays a bad ass as good as Clint Eastwood. Dirty Harry isn't the best movie I have ever seen but it's still a lot better than most of the cop films that are released today.
2
Lethal Weapon (1987,  R)
Lethal Weapon
Murtaugh, a cop feeling his age, is stuck with a new partner. His name is Riggs (Mel Gibson) and he has a bit of a death wish after losing his wife. Murtough loses his cool when Riggs actually jumps off the building with a suicidal man.

They of course eventually bond and when Murtaugh''s daughter is kidnapped, Riggs just might be his only hope in getting her back. The movie is fun with a good action. However, it just gets a little silly when the police just sit back and let Riggs have a 1 on 1 fight on Murtaugh's front lawn. I can watch it over and over again, but for some reason I love the 2nd one even more.
3
Die Hard (1988,  R)
Die Hard
Die Hard is the film that made Bruce Willis an action star. This first film of the series is the best due to being the smartest and the best acted. It's also the only action film that manages to make me shed a few tears. No scene ever gets to me like the one where Reginald VelJohnson fires his gun.
4
The Last Boy Scout (1991,  R)
5
Mad Max (1979,  R)
Mad Max
Mel Gibson stars as Max, a cop who's up against a dangerous motorcycle gang. They brought out the worse in him though after they kill his wife and son. So now the hunters have become the hunted.

The first film is probably my least favorite of the 3 films but it's still really good. The car chases and battles aren't as good as in the sequels. But they are still pretty entertaining.
6
Magnum Force (1973,  R)
Magnum Force
Harry (Clint Eastwood) is back with no explanation why, since he threw away his badge in the end of the first movie. He's up against a team of crooked cops that also bend the rules, except they kill in cold blood. The movie isn't as good as the first one but Eastwood at least has his moments.

Except he was more sarcastic and tough in the first. He's sarcastic but not as much of a mean bastard as he was in the first. He's more of a team player in this one, which isn't as fun as him being a loner badass cop. But the movie is still better than a lot of cop dramas of today. The plot is a little like Rightous Kill for instance but this movie is a lot better.
7
Lethal Weapon 2 (1989,  R)
Lethal Weapon 2
I love this one, the action is great and Gibson and Glover's chemestry is even better than it was in the first.

Joe Pesci is funny in his first appearance in a Lethal Weapon film as well. He wasn't that needed in the 3rd and 4th films though. I also thought the Russian woman was adorable. I can watch this one again and again without getting tired of it.
8
One Good Cop (1991,  R)
One Good Cop
Michael Keaton plays a cop who finds himself taking care of his partner's 3 girls after he's killed. He finds himself doing things that he wouldn't usually do, in order to support them.

The movie is a little routine with the usual "hand in your badge" type of stuff that you usually get in Hollywood cop dramas. While it's overdone with how we're constantly reminded why he's doing what he's doing. I mean, the movie has to keep showing that the kids are cute and that he cares about them.

The movie also throws a big typical action movie shoot-out at us in the end that doesn't really fit in with the rest of the movie. However, I still like the movie due to the under-rated Michael Keaton that a lot of people dislike for no good reason. Rene Russo also does fine work as his wife. While Racgel Ticotin (Total Recall) isn't bad either a woman cop investigating him.
9
Tango & Cash (1989,  R)
10
Black Rain (1989,  R)
11
Cobra (1986,  R)
12
Bad Lieutenant (1992,  R)
13
The Hard Way (1991,  R)
The Hard Way
Michael J. Fox plays an actor who teams up with a cop (James Woods) for research for an upcoming role. The movie is supposed to be a Lethal Weapon type of action thriller, it's hard to take it seriously though. Especially when Fox goes for laughs even through what's supposed to be serious action scenes.

The movie still works as a comedy though and it's hard not to like it due to the fun performances by Fox and Woods. The Hard Way is basically just an entertaining bad movie.
14
Die Hard With a Vengeance (Die Hard 3) (1995,  R)
Die Hard With a Vengeance (Die Hard 3)
The 3rd film is mostly good due Jeremy Irons as the villain. He's the best one next to Alan Rickman in the first film. Willis is good as McCaine but not as good as he was in the first 2. This time around he's saving NY from terrorists while having a bad hangover.
15
Live Free or Die Hard (2007,  PG-13)
Live Free or Die Hard
Live Free or Die Hard is better than I expected but no way is it as good as the first two. It's more cartoonish than any of them but it is still fun I admit.

Bruce Willis is as macho and cool as always and is the main reason to see the movie. Justin Long is better than I expected as a hacker that the terrorists want dead. He's still annoying at times though. While I'm a Timothy Olyphant fan he's the weakest villain of the series. It's also not his best work at all. Maggie Q as Olyphant's ass kicking g/f is a better villain and has a nice unrealiistic big cartoonish fight with John McCaine.
16
Die Hard 2 (Die Hard 2: Die Harder) (1990,  R)
Die Hard 2 (Die Hard 2: Die Harder)
This one is probably the most under-rated of the series. It has good action and the plot isn't bad either even if it's not as original as the first film.

This time, John McCaine has to stop terrorists who have taken control over an airport. His wife just happens to be on one of the planes .
17
Lethal Weapon 3 (1992,  R)
Lethal Weapon 3
It's not as good as the first 2 but it has some of the ingredients of what made first 2 good. The 4th film doesn't really have any of them.
18
Red Heat (1988,  R)
19
Shaft (2000,  R)
20
16 Blocks (2006,  PG-13)
16 Blocks
Bruce Willis is great but Mos Def is awful and annoying.
21
Training Day (2001,  R)
22
The Dead Pool (1988,  R)
The Dead Pool
Harry (Clint Eastwood) is consider a hero and is famous after capturing a dangerous criminal. Which lands him on the list of a mad man that kills celebrities. While his reporter girlfriend (Patiricia Clarkson) is also in danger. While the director of B-movies (Liam Neeson) is the prime suspect. But could it be that he's being framed ?

The Dead Pool isn't the best of the Dirty Harry films but it is one of the better ones at least. Eastwood has funny one liners and gets to kick ass one last time. While the supporting cast is also impressive, well even though Jim Carrey was pretty bad in an early performance. But at least he wasn't in much of the film. I liked Liam Neeson though and it's funny that his character says that he's being framed by someone who's jealous of him, when he has never made a good film. Evan C. Kim has some funny lines too as Harry's new partner who has funny wise cracks at every crime scene. For instance, when a critic is killed he says " I give this one an 8" lol.
23
48 HRS (1982,  R)
24
Beverly Hills Cop (1984,  R)
25
Beverly Hills Cop II (1987,  R)
26
The Untouchables (1987,  R)
The Untouchables
The Untouchables is no doubt Brian DePalma's best movie. It stars Kevin Costner as Elliot Ness who wants to bring down Al Capone (Robert De Niro).

He forms a friendship and partnership with an old officer well played by Sean Connery. He also gets help from a young cop played by Andy Garcia and Charles Martin Smith as I think a Lawyer.

The movie makes a good mob film due to De Niro's ruthlessness as Capone. He even gets to say "are you talking to me". It also offers some gripping scenes such as a baby carriage rolling down the stairs during a shoot-out.
27
Walking Tall (2004,  PG-13)
28
A Man Apart (2003,  R)
29
Point Break (1991,  R)
Point Break
One of the most under-rated action movies. How could a movie where bank robbers wear masks of former presidents get bad reviews ? This movie is just...cool and Patrick Swayze kicks ass in it lol.

What makes it different is that it has copes & robbers.....football.....skydiving and surfing all in one movie. It may be over-stuffed and silly even but it's still beautifully made.
30
The Departed (2006,  R)
31
The Fugitive (1993,  PG-13)
The Fugitive
The Fugitive is a summer movie that didn't disapoint. It has well done chases and a smart script. It also has Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones both in top form.
32
Metro (1997,  R)
33
The Negotiator (1998,  R)
