The Best Directed Films ever made.
A lot of factors are important in a Film. Most people say that the script is what makes a Film great or bad, but, I totally disagree. In this list, I have chosen some Films with scripts (or stories) that are not exactly my favorite ones; but the DIRECTION, the Cinematography, the Actors and they're amazing work, etc... makes them what I like to call Masterpieces... now, we will focus only in Direction. The order is not that important, beceause I would lose my mind if I think of an order of all the Films I've ever seen, so don't pay much attention to it please. P.S. By the way, let's not forget that there are great Films that have it all of course. But my point is that actually you won't find a lot of these Films in My Favorite Films Category or viceversa, because in this list, it's only about Direction.

Boogie Nights (1997, R)
An amazing journey inside the porn Industry by Master Paul Thomas Anderson. He really creates poetry with tough subjects, such as rejections and the cruel ups and downs in life. For those of you who thought that Mark Wahlberg is not a good actor, I agree. He is not good, he is great; at least in this amazing Film. |

The Departed (2006, R)
YES!!! WE WON!!! MASTER SCORSESE WON!!! GREAT! BRILLIANT! BRING THE CHAMPAGNE!!! By far the very best film by Master Martin Scorsese. And, what a cast! Leonardo DiCaprio is the best actor alive; Matt Damon is choosing very good roles; and so are Mark Wahlberg and Vera Farmiga. It deserves an Oscar! Babel? I'm positive it will win, but so many Films and people have won without deserving it. Period. Thank God I was mistaken about Babel by the way! Huge but "great" mistake. |

The Aviator (2004, PG-13)
Since it is impossible to rank all the Films and Actors in the right order without going crazy, I do have to say that only the first 10 or 20 are in the right order; most of the rest in the two categories are random. And by the way, I do have to admit that I am confussed about my number one Film. It could be a match between THE AVIATOR and THE DEPARTED. A REAL achievement in Cinema History. Again, Master Scorsese and Leo DiCaprio together. GREAT team; G-R-E-A-T. |

Seven (Se7en) (1995, R)
An amazing Film by Director David Fincher, who does crappy movies and masterpieces alike. I think this one is his best. Se7en is also the best Brad Pitt movie. Now he is lost. He was great and cool in Se7en, Snatch, Meet Joe Black, Spy Game, Ocean's Eleven, etc. That Brad Pitt doesn't exist anymore. |

Gilda (1946, PG)
And the glamour and beauty collapsed in this amazing Film Noir story. One of the best genre examples, and one of the best homages to women's beauty. Rita Hayworth is one of a kind. We are talking MOVIE STAR here. Glenn Ford is great. Charles Vidor gives us a perfect combo for us to enjoy. A real masterpiece. |

I believe the very best Christopher Nolan work. Amazing and thrilling. A driven and authentic Film. Very cool and with an excellent pace, Art Direction, etc.. Guy Pearce and Carrie- Anne Moss' best. I also believe they deserve much, much more from Hollywood; a place that I understand less and less everyday... |

Brokeback Mountain (2005, R)
Regardless of the story (a love one) or the Actors (two of the finest), EVERY SINGLE shot here is a piece of Art. It's like watching several great paintings along the way. Ang Lee's finest. And needless to say, I believe Heath Ledger's acting craft is really amazing. Hard to beat. What an amazing actor. |

The Bourne Ultimatum (2007, PG-13)
I did not have much faith when it came to action films because they were all trivial and stupid, until the Bourne series began. And the trilogy went up, up, instead of the opposite. Jesus.. what an AMAZING Director Paul Greengrass is. The scenes are full of pure adrenaline, testosterone and film magic in a perfectly balanced cocktail. And something else is that I never believed that Matt Damon could become the best action star in Hollywood; shame on me. He is doing a great work in every single project he chooses. He really is an amazing actor, and a big star. Brilliant. |

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005, PG-13)
An amazing acting by Hayden Christensen. Great. I believe that is one of the best things this Film has to offer. And, of course, all the sub plot. A very intelligent Film. I am not a fan of the Star Wars saga, but since Anakin appeared, it was worth it. Great proof of what ambition , wrath and frustration can achieve. |
