Some of my favorites from his earliest to the last. I could have listed more or for that matter, listed them all but these stand out to me.

The Bishop's Wife (1947, Unrated)
A classic Christmas movie along with 'It's A Wonderful Life', 'Christmas In Connecticut', 'Holiday Inn' and others that Christmas would not seem like Christmas without. This one also features Loretta Young as the leading lady but the wife of David Niven. No 'monkey business' here however as Grant plays an angle. |

People Will Talk (1951, Unrated)
This film pairs Grant with Jeanne Crain. Yet another 'adult theme' of the time that Grant's trustworthy style or personality he always seems to project makes him perfect for the role. It is probably what he was often chosen for such roles. Anyone elase would have been too innocent or too corrupt to make the story 'acceptable'. |

Father Goose (1964, Unrated)
My favorite Cary Grant movie of all time. Very underrated and very entertaining. As somewhat of a different role or character, It proved Crant's acting abilities. In one scene, he 'flips of' someone. That's right! Gives them the finger! I think he sparked the rebellious nature of the 60's with that gesture in this 1964 film. |

Walk, Don't Run (1966, Unrated)
It said that when asked why he quit making movies, Cary Grant said that he though he was too old to be the leading man and that his fans wouldn't accet anything else. I think it's too bad because I believe he would have delivered his best acting had he continued. Perhaps he avoided being exploited however. I found myself wanting more from Cary Grant following his real life exploits through the tabloids until his death in 1986 at age 82. But, it's better to appreciate what was than regret what was not. Cary Grant was great and a true gift to cinema. |
