Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980, PG) |
|
| 2 |
Raiders of the Lost Ark (Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark) (1981, PG) |
|
| 3 |
Blade Runner (1982, R)
This is a movie I can't help giving an extremely high rating, even if I could always barely understand it lol. It's visually stunning, hard to look away from and truly original. |

Witness (1985, R) |

Back to the Future (1985, PG)
They've been remaking a lot of 80's movies of late and this is one movie that should never ever....ever be remade. It's a smart touching and fun movie about time travel where a teenager (Michael J. Fox) is stuck in the 50's. |
|
| 6 |
The Untouchables (1987, R)
The Untouchables is no doubt Brian DePalma's best movie. It stars Kevin Costner as Elliot Ness who wants to bring down Al Capone (Robert De Niro). |
|
| 7 |
Batman (1989, PG-13)
In this Batman film he's taken seriously and you don't get shots of his butt in the Bat costume. Joel Schumacher was obsessed with shots of Batman's butt for some reason lol. The movie is perfectly dark and sometimes comical. It doesn't over-due the campiness like Batman Forever and Batman & Robin. |

The Shining (1980, R) |

The Witches of Eastwick (1987, R) |

Terms of Endearment (1983, PG) |

The Breakfast Club (1985, R)
It's a well made teen drama about teenagers that get to know each other in detention. It's smarter and better acted than a lot of the teen dramas of the 80's but also the 90's and 00's as well. |

Ghost Busters (Ghostbusters) (1984, PG) |

Gremlins (1984, PG) |

Platoon (1986, R) |

Top Gun (1986, PG)
Top Gun is the macho chick flick of the 80's, I can't think of any other way to describe it. It's macho enough for guys with enough romance for women. It also has a great soundtrack if you're into 80's music. Plus Tom was cool then and not as annoying and show offy than he is now. Which is scary since he had an ego then too, it just somw how grew much bigger now. |

Glory (1989, R) |

The Color of Money (1986, R)
I don't know why some critics like Roger Ebert found this follow up to the Hustler to be disappointing. To me, this is a flawless film with Newman in top form. He was only nominated for the Hustler, he actually won an Oscar for the Color of Money. |

Willow (1988, PG)
No, Willow totally did not suck lol. Hell, as a kid it was one of my best times at the movies. Probably seen it like 3 times. |
|
| 22 |
Beetle Juice (Beetlejuice) (1988, PG) |
|
| 23 |
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989, PG-13)
I really like this one bus mostly due to the chemestry between Harrison Ford and Sean Connery as father and son. The late River Phoenix made a great young Indiana in the beginning as well. |
|
| 24 |
Crocodile Dundee (1986, PG-13)
A Australian crocodile hunter (Paul Hogan) is brought to NYC by a reporter. Will he adapt to the big city and fit in ? |
|
| 25 |
Flight of the Navigator (1986, PG) |
|
| 26 |
Lethal Weapon (1987, R)
Murtaugh, a cop feeling his age, is stuck with a new partner. His name is Riggs (Mel Gibson) and he has a bit of a death wish after losing his wife. Murtough loses his cool when Riggs actually jumps off the building with a suicidal man. |
|

Lethal Weapon 2 (1989, R)
I love this one, the action is great and Gibson and Glover's chemestry is even better than it was in the first. |
|
| 28 |
Mad Max 2 (The Road Warrior) (1981, R) |
|
| 29 |
Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (Mad Max 3) (1985, PG-13)
Max is left dead in the desert after he refuses to kill someone in a fight to the death match. He's found by a young tribe that have mistaken him for a pilot that they believe will fly them some where safe. |

Down and Out in Beverly Hills (1986, R)
Richard Dreyfus and Bette Midler star as a rich couple that take in a homeless man (Nick Nolte). Dreyfuss invites him to stay as long as he wants and Midler is a snob that doesn't want him there. |

Pee-wee's Big Adventure (1985, PG)
I always liked this movie, not because I'm a Pee Wee Herman fan but because I'm a Tim Burton fan. Without him, the 2nd film Big Top Pee Wee fell flat and was lame. Pee-wee's Big Adventure is fun with a lot of energy. Burton's direction and Danny Elfman's score are 2 good reason to check out the movie. |
