Upon viewing this movie, I was kind of surprised that it really wasn't about anything more than a man's obsession with taking revenge upon a giant whale. I mean, I knew that was the general storyline, but I guess I expected there to be a lot more complexity and allegory than I found in this film. (Of course, I've never read the novel, so I don't know how much complexity and allegory exists within the original story anyway.) |
