Blood Stalkers (The Night Daniel Died)
Blood Stalkers is a great drive in film. It was made with all heart. Sure its got alot of cheeze happening. But its one of my favorite films of this type. Chock full of great characters and some fun direction. Blood Stalkers also has by far the greatest scared shitless scenes ever filmed! And one of the main characters sweats like no other. I really wish this had a legite dvd release! But if anyone ever finds a VHS copy, be sure not to read the back of the box as it telles you what happens to every character in this gem!

Deranged (1974,  R)
Deranged
A classic drive-in horror film. Based on Ed Gein. And possibly the closest adaption of him. Co-directed by Alan Ormsby of Bob Clark fame. And one of the first, if not the first, Tom Savini makeup jobs.
One of my favorite movies. Its so much fun.
5
The Toolbox Murders (1978,  R)
The Toolbox Murders
Starts ridiculously cheesey and then finishes ridiculously boring. It becomes a Cameron Mitchelle bore fest. The one unique thing about this film is that it co-stars Wesly (Will from the land of the Lost) odd!
Gratuitous nudity and violence doesnt help this from becomeing a real snooze fest!
6
I Drink Your Blood (1971,  R)
I Drink Your Blood
awsome drive in flick has some kid infect a hippie cult with rabies by injecting pot pies with it; then feeding it to them.

The Wizard Of Gore (1970,  Unrated)
The Wizard Of Gore
A fun gory fest from the Godfather of gore, H.G.Lewis. Its definatly one of the lesser films on my list of "good" H.G.Lewis movies. It tends to get a bit on the boring side.
17
Two Thousand Maniacs (1964,  Unrated)
Two Thousand Maniacs
My favorite H.G. Lewis flick. Connie Mason cant act her way out of a paper bag but thats the charm of a Lewis film. Great musical numbers by the Pleasant Vally Boys. I got the soundtrack just for them. IAm not ashamed!

Female Trouble (1974,  R)
Female Trouble
This is John Waters at his tasteless best! Divine plays Dawn Davenport. Teenage deliquent who runs away from home and turns to a life of crime, after not receiving a pair of shoes with ChaCha heels on Christmas day.
This film is sooo wrong on many levels. I love it!!
20
Desperate Living (Edited Version) (1977,  NC-17)
Desperate Living (Edited Version)
Divine is nowere to be found. But Edith Massey, Mary Vivian Peirce and Mink Stole are there for our laughing pleasure. The scene were the kid is in the refrigerator is soooo goddamn funny! Waters rules.
21
Sex & Fury (1973,  R)
Sex & Fury
you got to love a film that about 10 minutes into it....the female lead, Ocho is taking a bath when there is an assasination attempt on her life. Leaping out of the tub, only wearing her birthday suit and armed with a sword, she kills everyone in a awsome bloody mess! This basically sets the tone for the rest of this great film.
Sex and Fury is a great Pinky Violence film. One of the best forms of exploitation.
Also starring Christina Lindberg, star of Thriller - A Cruel Picture.

Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984,  R)
Silent Night, Deadly Night
Ultra sleazy x-mas film. I love it! The scene were the Grandpa is in the looney bin and doesnt say anything till the kid is alone is freakin creepy! And the sleaze factor doesnt stop there! Five more minute after that the kid watches Santa kill his parents.

Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things (1972,  PG)
Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things
Sometimes a bit too slow. But this pg rated zombie film is way better than most! From the director of Porkeys and A X-mas story. He made some of the best American horror films in the 70's.
37
Blue Sunshine (1976,  R)
Blue Sunshine
LSD has late effects in this creepy tale. Scary looking Bald people! Jeff Leiberman did horror well for his short time he was involved in the genre.

¿Quién puede matar a un niño? (Who Can Kill a Child?)(Death is Child's Play)(Island of the Damned) (1976,  R)
¿Quién puede matar a un niño? (Who Can Kill a Child?)(Death is Child's Play)(Island of the Damned)
Who Can Kill a Child possibly has the most grueling opening credits ever. Made up of documentary footage from concentration camp victims of WWII and other wars that followed. Mostly the footage contains child victims. My girlfreind was balling through the opening credits. God bless her for watching my movies!
Although the film starts out on a grueling note......which i too found extremly hard to watch, but focused on the subtitles, so i wasnt paying attention to detail...thank god......the middle drags a good bit.
A couple on vacation wants to get away from the tourist heavy mainland, takes a boat to an island 4 hrs. away. Once there, other than a few children the couple find the island "deserted" After a very long investigation of the island...and i mean long....the husband discovers all of the adults have been and are still being killed by the children.
This film is good but the slow middle and the frustrating decisions the husband makes prevent Who can Kill a Child from being a real gem. The husband by the way looks like a cross between "Andy Travis" from WKRP in Cincinatti and Peter Sellers. Odd.
The ending gets really fucked up as the question "WHO CAN KILL A CHILD" is answered......Andy Travis Sellers! Thats who!
The film is very gritty. And in no way is the lush style of director Narciso Ibanez Serrador earlier effort The House That Screamed apparent. But maybe it benifits from that? The House that Screamed by the way is a MASTERPEICE!
The major flaw of this film is its opening credit sequence and the hint through out of a political message.....like there would be no wars without adults or something like that. Its never a fully devloped point. And its a point that is totally unnessasary. But still the film manages to be an above average watch.
44
The Candy Snatchers (1973,  R)
The Candy Snatchers
A very odd mix of sleaze and camp. It was not what i expected when i first saw this film. I expected more of a straight sleaze film. But the camp adds another dimension to the film making it satand out from other exploitation film of the time. Well made and sick at times.
45
Lemora - A Child's Tale of the Supernatural (1973,  PG)
Lemora - A Child's Tale of the Supernatural
Lemora- a child tale of the supernatural is a very odd film. It has some moments of great atmosphere ( the bus ride). It subject matter is sleazy. with the part of the preacher who has fallen in love with his little angel. In fact this film is full of creepy characters.
Lemora is an ambitios film. You can really see the heart that was put into it by it director Richard Blackburn (II).
Great little latenight film with atmosphere.
46
Street Trash (1986,  Unrated)
Street Trash
This is not a film from Troma. But it feels like one. And if it were a Troma film, it would be one of their best!
This film is more about the lives of whino- bums living in a junk yard. But theres a sub plot involving a mysterious liquor called Tenefly Viper. That when drank, the drinker melts in glorious technicolor. This film is pretty offensive. Theres a scary rape involving a drunk girl and the whole community of junkyard bums. Were she then winds up dead, only to have her corpse raped by the fat ass who runs the junk yard!
One of the funniest scenes and my favorite part is the bum who puts chicken down his pants. Sooo fuckin funny.
47
Hostel (2006,  R)

Shriek of the Mutilated (Scream of the Snowbeast) (1974,  R)
Shriek of the Mutilated (Scream of the Snowbeast)
One of those sooo bad its good films. The acting is purly amature, the dialogue is totaly hammy and the Yeti suit is about as convincing as South Parks Mr. Garrison as a woman.
But i was entertained to the fullest. Pure Drive-in fun!

Hei tai yang: Nan Jing da tu sha (Men Behind The Sun 4) (Black Sun: The Nanking Massacre) (1995,  Unrated)
Hei tai yang: Nan Jing da tu sha (Men Behind The Sun 4) (Black Sun: The Nanking Massacre)
There are certain films ive seen in my short existence that stick with you. The films that give you the feeling of wanting to take a hot shower after watching them, so you can scrub the grim off. Films like Salo: 120 of Sodom, Cannibal Holocaust, William Freidkin's Cruisin. Men Behind The Sun is also one of those films. Its disturbing. The film is about a Japanese bacterial weapons experiment camp. Were they perform atrocities on the Chinese. Based on fact, this film shows that the Japs commited crimes of unspeakable horror. Its a notorious film that lives up to its reputation.
52
Mother's Day (1980,  Unrated)
Mother's Day
Mothers Day is a fucked up film! The story of three best friends from school who get together every year for a reunion. While on their retreat in the woods, they are kidnapped by a couple of pop culture loving brothers. Who, under the command of their crazy big nostriled mother, torture and rape the woman.
There is great dialogue to be had in this cult classic. And the sleaze is thick. One of my all time favorite exploitation films. Part horror part comedy and all trash!
"Ill get the Kodak!"

Let's Scare Jessica to Death (What Killed Sam Dorker?) (1971,  PG-13)
Let's Scare Jessica to Death (What Killed Sam Dorker?)
A big let down. Lets Scare Jessica to death is a bore fest. It should of been called Lets BORE Jessica to Death. Its a shame cause it started out great.

Legend of Boggy Creek (1973,  G)
Legend of Boggy Creek
well crafted film under the guise of a documentary. The film makers were smart about keeping the "Bigfoot" out of veiw for the most part. And the real life townsfolk interveiwed give this film an authentic feel. Creepy.

C.H.U.D. (Chud) (1984,  R)
C.H.U.D. (Chud)
exellent little monster movie. Daniel Stern cracks me up in this one. Hes got a major afro happening.

Phantasm
Psychadelic Horror.
"it wasnt any gopher!"
60
I Spit on Your Grave (Day of the Woman) (1978,  R)
I Spit on Your Grave (Day of the Woman)
Not exactly an enjoyable film, I Spit On Your Grave has perhaps the most greuling rape sequence ever filmed. It goes on and on and on. And that sequence is the catylist for the revenge plot of the film. Yet the acts of revenge commited by Keatons character never quite match the intensity or horror Keaton was put through during her rape. As a veiwer i wanted to see these men put through hell. I wanted to see them tortured and begging for life. Instead Meir Zarchi goes the route of just getting them offed and out of the way so he can end his film. Woman are portrayed as victims always asking for it and men are portrayed as animals always on the prowl.
yet amoung all this crap i have a love/hate relationship with this film. It is exploitation at its extreme.
61
Black Christmas (1974,  R)
Black Christmas
creepy as fuck! Clark does horror well!

The Howling
the best werewolf film of all time. great cameos from genre celebs.
63
House of 1000 Corpses (2003,  R)
House of 1000 Corpses
Zombie pays homage to 70 's horror. Sure there is nothing original in this film. Sure the dialogue is really forced. But i didnt care. I loved it.
64
The Devil's Rejects (2005,  R)
The Devil's Rejects
alright i think iam in the minority on this one. One of the sleaziest films to come out of the staes in 20 years. I loved it. Saw it 4 times in the theatre.
A huge improvment over House of 1000. Zombies sequel is destined to become a classic.
65
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974,  R)
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
so realistic! Incredibly powerful. I feel dirty evertime i watch it. One of the greatest American horror films ever made.
66
Piranha (1978,  R)
Piranha
A scary and amusing little film from Dante. Full of cameos from genre veterens. This will scare you out of freshwater like Jaws scared you out of the ocean! This is the best Jaws rip off! And it has held up better in the years than Jaws has.
Great scenes of Piranha nibbling on peoples fingers, toes, cheeks, nipples and asses! Brutal scenes. And no one is an exeption to the feeding frenzy. Little kids are on the dinner plate for the hungry little fish!
Classy little drive in film! Alot of fun! And scary.
67
Frankenhooker (1990,  R)
Frankenhooker
incredibly funny! One of those cult films that deserve its reputation as a wild ride loaded with laughs. I love this film! And the lead actor , James Lorinz, is one of the funniest actors ever. He was the highlight of Street Trash and he gets the lead in this. In fact if it werent for him this film wouldnt be as good as it is!
68
Basket Case (1982,  R)
Basket Case
odd little horror film. Very low budeget and LOTS of fun! Imean lots! "whats in the basket? minor classic!
69
Motel Hell (1980,  R)

Assault on Precinct 13
Gritty and offensive. Your not gonna see a little girl get blown away like this anymore!

Xtro
odd and fun. I remeber a really cool scene with the alien thats on all fours.
72
Black Snake Moan (2007,  R)
Black Snake Moan
I really enjoyed the hell out of this film. Its almost like an old school exploitation film. And it never went in the direction i thought it would go, multiple times no less.
Sam Jackson is pretty damn good in a role that suits him just fine. And Cristina Ricci is SMOKIN HOT! Let me repeat...Christina Ricci is SMOKIN HOT!!! This is probably the best role ive ever seen her in!
All in all.....a very entertaining time. Although iam sure this film will earn some haters.
73
Humanoids from the Deep (Monster) (1980,  R)
Humanoids from the Deep (Monster)
effective little monster film. Its like The Creature From the Black Lagoon needs to get laid!?
74
Maniac! (1980,  Unrated)

76
The Funhouse (Carnival of Terror) (1981,  R)
The Funhouse (Carnival of Terror)
One of the better "slasher" films. Hooper fills this with creepy sets and a creepy monster.
77
Dead of Night (Deathdream) (Night Walk) (The Veteran) (Whispers) (1972,  R)
Dead of Night (Deathdream) (Night Walk) (The Veteran) (Whispers)
This early Bob Clark horror film relies heavily on mood. A unique entry into the ghost/zombie arena. Early f/x work by Tom Savini. Creepy at times.
78
Ms. 45 (1981,  R)
Ms. 45
Abel Ferrara crafts a tight little film here. Ms. 45 is a pretty sleazy film. The first to rape sequences are tough to watch. Zoe Tamerlis's performane without any dialogue, because her character is mute, is flawless.
This film is better in the revenge dept. than I Spit on Your Grave. Her acts of revenge seem to be deleivered more beleivably. And the finale at the costume party is classic!
79
The Deadly Spawn (1983,  R)
The Deadly Spawn
Heres another one of those low budget gems that was made with all heart. The Deadly Spawn is a great little sci-fi horror flick. The puppets are great and remind me of giant monster penises. The scene were the baby spawn terrorize the group of old woman is great.
I love films like this. Sure its low budget and the acting isnt Brando but fuck anyone who hates on that type of shit. This is a film made with love and care from a true fan of the genre. Its pure homage to the great B films of the 50's and 60's.
80
Dirty Mary Crazy Larry (1974,  PG)
Dirty Mary Crazy Larry
This is an exellent example of the great american drive in film. Dirty Mary Crazy Larry is a total blast. High speed chases, great dialogue and the ever so hot snaggle-toothed Susan George. I can revist this one over and over. Good times!
81
Turistas (Paradise Lost) (2006,  R)
Turistas (Paradise Lost)
Turistas is like Hostel meets Doctor Butcher M.D. Typical mainstream horror fare. But not as painful to watch as most. I kinda had a good time with Turistas. Not a bad watch if theres nothing on and its on cable. Lots of hot woman who are scantily clad makes this film extra speacial.
82
Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! (1965,  R)
Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!
The perfect example of a Trash/Exploitation film! Faster Pussycat Kill Kill is fucking great. Its got a great score, great dialogue and enough imagry to keep me rubbing it raw! Lori Williams is smoking hot!! I would of loved to of seen her take on Tura Santana. What a great cat fight that would of been! but it didnt go that way.
You can totaly see how this film inspired Tarantino's Death Proof. Some of the funniest moments come when the muscle bound retard eats chicken. Great stuff.
83
Rabid (1979,  R)
Rabid
Ultra cool film with hot porn star Chambers who is actually good in this
84
The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane (1976,  PG)

The Brain That Wouldn't Die

90
Don't Go In the Woods (1981,  R)
Don't Go In the Woods
Absurd over the top slasher flick. Not very good if your sober but its a blast under the influence. So bad its good.
91
Brain Damage (1995,  R)
Brain Damage
Henelotter followed up his bizarre cult film Basket Case with this equally bizzare film. It has such an odd atmosphere to it. Maybe its because of the main character always being under the influence of Elmer.
92
Pembalasan ratu pantai selatan (Lady Terminator) (Nasty Hunter) (Shooting Star) (1988,  R)
Pembalasan ratu pantai selatan (Lady Terminator) (Nasty Hunter) (Shooting Star)

93
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986,  R)
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2
ok they made Leatherface a pussy for pussy. But its still a great film. And the most original sequel in the series. Dennis Hopper kicks ass as the bible spewing Uncle seeking revenge, and Chop-Top is one of the creepiest charcters ever! I love this cheez fest of a film.

Emanuelle e gli ultimi (Edited Version) (Emanuelle and the Last Cannibals) (Trap Them and Kill Them)
Hey its an Emanuelle film with cannibals..italian style. Anybody expecting anything other than a Emanuelle film should stay away. I love how D'Amato brings a real sleazy element to these films. I only like the Gemser Entrys.
97
The Burning (1981,  Unrated)
The Burning
Typical slasher film with gory kills thanks to Tom Savini. Slighty above average for a very tired genre.
98
Tenement (Game of Survival) (Slaughter in the South Bronx) (1985,  Unrated)
Tenement (Game of Survival) (Slaughter in the South Bronx)
Talentless Roberta Findlay delievers a very violent and mean spirited exploitation film here. There are rapes with broomsticks, stabbings, scalding hot water thrown onto people, throat slashings and a variety of other tortures. Its mildly enjoyable...if you really want a good laugh. Its so very badly made. Findlay is about as good at framing a shot as Stevie Wonder would of been. In fact her style reminds me of Stevie Wonders...there was an old episode of Saturday Night Live that Wonder hosted back in the early 80's. And he did one of the famous SNL commercials were he was using a camera to take pictures of a tennis pro. Thats exactly what Roberta Findlay is like behind the camera! She just cant capture a person on film with out cropping their heads off. If your gonna watch this, make sure there is a friend in the room and alchohal or other substances to enhance the "experience"

seriously a half a star film..but ill give it 2 because i laughed pretty hard watching it.
99
Foxy Brown (1974,  R)
Foxy Brown
Pam Grier is kicking ass and looking hot in Foxy Brown. It starts off pretty tame, but after the first 40 minutes or so it gets pretty good. As with most Blaxploitation films the white are the racist villians. Often reffereing to Foxy as Jigaboo and Spook. The film takes a pretty sleazy turn when Foxy is sent to "the ranch" were she is doped up and raped. The violence is pretty good too with castration, decapitation by airplane propeller, eyes raked out with coat hangers and gun shots.
Foxy Brown is not exactly what i would call a great film but it is fun and well worth the watch.

Rolling Thunder (1977,  R)
Rolling Thunder
Rolling Thunder is a odd film. On one hand its a very self aware Drama, and on the other hand its a mean vigilante film. It definatly distances its self from the Death Wish types. With Paul Schrader scripting, its definatly deeper than the usual.
William Devane gives a very subdued performance as Major Charles Rane. At first his performance bothered me a bit. He is very emotionless when at times he should be a wreck or filled with anger. But there is a key scene in the film that sums his character all up when he says something to the effect of having felt like he died and is just seeing the world pass around him. That line saved his character for me.
With a great supporting cast including Tommy Lee Jones and fucking Rosco P. Coltrane himself as a very mean and sleazy hoodlum, James Best.
The ending is very Peckinpah inspired. Two men who with a bleak future who have nothing to live for go for the payback with guns ablazing. The violence is great and the paybacks are worthy. Great stuff from the 70's.

Equinox (1992,  R)
Equinox
Equinox is a completely cool and imaginative little film. It is totally Lovecraftian and shares alot in common with The Evil Dead.
Very low budget it still manages to be a spfx extravaganza. The stop motion is pretty primative and crude. But that is also the one of many charming qualities of the film.
Well thought out and acted, Equinox is for the forgiving only. A perfect example of a drive-in classic.

The Midnight Meat Train (2008,  R)
The Midnight Meat Train
This isnt anything really new or original but its done well. Perhaps the best of its type. Thats not really saying much. Maybe its me and i prefer some sophistication brought to my horror, but iam so tired of this type of film. In its defense it does go to a place none of them have before...but its too little to late. I would liked to have seen this certain element brought in earlier and explored a little more. Its not that i need an explanation for every thing....its just there seemed to be a cool idea here thats really only glimpsed at for less than a minute.
I was completely suprised to see this was directed by the guy who made that shit fest Versus. Well hes come a long way, this was well done.

The Lost (2006,  Unrated)
The Lost
A well done adaptation of Jack Ketchums intense novel. Its extremly faithful to its source material. All the casted actors were perfect to the characters they portrayed. Its well acted, well directed and violent as fuck. It does have it flaws but its not a shit fest. Its a good film. When i first read the novel i thought to myself if they ever turned this into a film it would be impossible to do....well i was proved wrong. But i wish they ended it with the prison bitch senario.

Amityville II: The Possession (1982,  R)
Amityville II: The Possession
Decent prequel is loaded with demonic possesion and incest. This is a pretty damn sleazy film thats pretty much over looked in the genre. Burt Young is a slimeball who beats up his family. The possesion makeup is pretty top notch stuff. This film is actually better than the original in alot of ways. The dialogue is laughable at times and the acting from some of the players are something to be desired...but what the fuck are you expecting in a film like this, Marlon Brando or Robert Mitchum. Get fucking real...this is Amityville II for christ sakes! And its pretty damn effective! Creepy and sleazy, the way i like 'em.

The Strangers (2008,  R)
The Strangers
Pretty generic stalk and slash fare thats saving grace is well staged frights. It definatly had some creepy moments and they were all handled well by the director, but its nothing we havnt seen a million times over. I really liked the first half but the last half became monotonous with the same old terrorizing hijinx that takes place during the first half. The "strangers" were pretty creepy with their masks and ability to just appear out of nowere. The terror tactics they used were pretty damn effective. And those elements are really strong in the first half. Worth a watch if you can tollerate this type of stuff. Nothing to rave about though.

Friday the 13th (2009,  R)
Friday the 13th
Alright this IS a Friday The 13th film so anyone expecting the next big thing should seriously go rewipe their ass because thats were youll find it....smeared on the T.P.
This IS NOT a remake in anyway. Other than the opening titles were we are reintroduced to Mrs Vorhees demise the film plays out like every other Friday film. With Jason hunting and stalking a group of annoying teens. Exactly what i was epecting. Its one of the better 'sequels' The violence is pretty greusome and the 'new' Jason is fast and mean. At least they brought him back to the woods. I enjoyed it, iam not ashamed. Now lets hope this franchise doesnt take off.

The Ruins (2008,  R)
The Ruins
Predictable characters and lack of real suspense doesnt stop The Ruins from being a generaly fun film. Its truthfully better than most modern horror films. Its not a remake of a japanese horror film and its not a remake of a 70's-80's horror film, so right there it deserves more of a chance than anything out today.
The location is fun and the gore content is high! The leg amputation scene is fucked up and will have any seasoned horror hound wincing with unease.

The Town That Dreaded Sundown (1976,  R)
The Town That Dreaded Sundown
Oddity based on the true crime spree known as the Texarkana Moonlight Murders from the mid 40's. Directed with a psudo-documentary feel, Charles B. Pierce also directed The Legend Of Boggy Creek that also had the semi-documentary feel. The Town That Dreaded Sundown is entertaining in the low budget drive-in sense. The acting is at times laughable..even the great Ben Johnson has it rough in that dept. But Pierces eye for authenticity is amazing. Everything you see feels like its from the time the film takes place, 1946. And his use of having the real townfolk as extras adds to the semi-documentary feel.
The film really works best whenever the Phantom Killer is present. He has a whole Zodiac thing going on for him with his white hood and his victims being couples. These scenes are pretty intence and well done. Lots of scary imagry. And it gets pretty brutal.
. The Town That Dreaed Sundown is pretty hard to find these days, but if you ever stumble upon it and you have the taste for drive-in trash then check this one out.

Rogue (Rogue Crocodile) (2008,  R)
Rogue (Rogue Crocodile)
Theres only so much you can do with a giant crocodile film and this film is no exception. Other than the fact that it is shot nicly. There are some cool scenes involving the Croc stalking its prey. Rogue is fun. Not Great...but fun. Thankfully its Teenless. And the mostly adult cast make this more than just watchable. McLean still knows how to make a film look beautiful, taking advantage of its Aussie surroundings.

Drag Me to Hell (2009,  PG-13)
Drag Me to Hell
Drag Me To Hell is Sam Raimi's triumphant return to the Horror genre. Its been almost 20 years if you count the awfull Army Of Darkness. And With Drag Me To Hell Raimi out does himself. Its extremly entertaining. Full of jumps galore, frightening imagry, lots of foreign fluids in the mouth, loud creepy sounds, a wonderful Cristopher Young score and that unique Raimi visual style. The story is a good one and Alison Loman is so damn cute you instantly sympathize with her. And Raimi abuses the fuck out of her. He abuses her like he would Bruce Cambell!! In fact i bet when Bruce first saw the film he said, "it about damn time Sam did this to someone other than me!"

Slither (2006,  R)
Slither
Seriously fun film!!! Usually tongue in cheek horror sucks, but this is a damn fun film that definatly deserves mention along side the likes as Evil Dead 2, Bad Taste, Dead Alive and Shaun of the Dead. I wish i would have had my head out of my ass when this first came out.

Paranormal Activity (2009,  R)
Paranormal Activity
Annoying couple are haunted by Demon in this Blair Witch-esque horror film. Truthfully this isn't that bad of a film. Its effective and there are some genuinly creepy scares. Its alot better than Blair Witch was! I say that because when you see this you cant help but think of Blair Witch. Iam a definate believer in the unknown and supernatural, so films like this usually 'haunt' me for lack of a better word.
This is the kind of film that is best viewed with a large audience. I wouldnt revisit this film again. Once it started i felt like i had been there before and truthfully the whole 'real footage' gimmick ran its course a long time ago. But this is a decent creep fest and even though the couple in this film are about as annoying as a dried split lip, its worth the one visit to thiis haunted house.

Orphan (2009,  R)
Orphan
Better than expected but still its what i expected. Pretty familiar story has the added touch of being a little more creepy than its earlier predecessor's in the evil child catagory. Its no Omen but its no Good Son either. Isabelle Fuhrman who plays Esther the Orphan is spot on in the acting dept. Its pretty rare when a child actor is really good and this one has three kids in the film who were all pretty damn good. Orphan is sadistic, sleazy and borderline child abuse for the kids involved in the filming....or they did such a good job acting its seems that way!?
Still the storys got a pretty decent twist that isnt exactly a big suprise. And the ending is truly brutal. Not bad.

Death Sentence (2007,  R)
Death Sentence
Death Sentence is a fun sleazy vigilante revenge thriller. Its fast paced and never boring. Wan brings style to the film. There is a great three minute tracking shot that takes place in a parking garage as the camera zooms in and out through the levels. Wan is a young guy but he shows alot of promise with this film. There is an incredible amount of graphic violence here. Throat slashings, lots of shotgun blasts blowing holes and severing limbs, fingers being shot off and bludgeonings with bats. Wan never shys away from the violence, he just doesnt linger upon it. Everything is seen in all its graphic glory. Bacon brings alot of emotion to the role. And when its time for him to be a bad ass, watch out. He seriously fucks up alot of people. John Goodman has a small role as a sleazy father of the leader of the gang. And Kelly Preston plays Bacons wife. All involved are good. Except the chick who plays the cop. I found her character to be the weak spot in this film. And truthfuly she was just plain annoying.
The film isnt with out its faults thats for sure. Like i said the cop is annoying and there are time of just plain cheeseness. But its faults i can over look. Iam a total sucker for this crap.
