"The French Connection" won five Oscars including Best Picture of 1971 and also one of the highest grossing films of that year. Other boxoffice winners were "Shaft","Billy Jack","A Clockwork Orange","The Last Picture Show","Harold and Maude","Willa Wonka and the Chocolate Factory","Fiddler on the Roof",and also to point out one of the highest grossing independent film of that year "Sweet Sweetback Bad Ass Song". Also to point out,"Diamonds Are Forever",marked Sean Connery's final appearance as James Bond.
