This is a list of 56 of the 74 “video nasties” that were heavily censored or banned outright in the UK in the 1980s due to their violent content. I have only seen a handful of these films. Some of these films, especially those featuring graphic scenes of torture, rape and animal cruelty (among other atrocities), I do not care to see. Others, I have heard, are really not that “shocking”; their reputation precedes them. Still others remain banned to this day due to their deviant and taboo subject matter.
