if the 80s happened for any reason whatsoever, this film was that reason. no wait, the 80s happened for plenty of reasons, but this film refined the action/adventure/comedy/road/buddy flick to everything that it could be. the script is near perfect, and de niro and charles grodin's chemitsry is something that can only be created in a lab. chock full of funnys, cool and heart. awesome!

finally, a batman film that gives us an accurate character study of batman, and why he's so fucking cool! and like all the best batman comics, is an awesome mood piec as well.

holy piece of absolute shite! don't get me started, no, really don't. bat-nipples and inflatable bane as ivy's henchman pretty much sums up this entire insult. i mean this one of the meanest guys in the dc universe. he figured out who batman was, destroyed his mind piece by piece, then when he was all done, stepped into the batcave and broke his back. just cos batman was there. he saw batman as some kind of challenge, just because he protected gotham city. and in this film, he is an inflatable gorilla who just grunts.

just the fact that this movie exists is fucking amazing! now i absolutely love the richard lester superman 2, but i'm the first to admit - it's bloody stupid. Here is a superman without giant cellophane s's, teleportation, and guess what? margot kidder is actually charming! for once, we can see why superman is in love with her. awesome!

not quite as good as the first one, but still definately has its charm. especially vanilla ice doing his ninja rap, and the ridiculousness of the super shredder. would have benefited from casey jones and april being in it though.

you have to admire a film that has the ability to rip you apart like this...

its not often that you finish watching a movie and think "wow, i didn't know that movies could do that", but this sure the hell is one of them.

another one of those awesome disney films that should, and maybe in 20 years, be condsidered an absolute classic.

a much underated disney film that was really funny and well made, as well as playing around with narrative conventions a bit. plus, patrick warburton is AWESOME! he is the archetype for big, dumb, easily lead but well intentioned henchmen.

can family entertainment get any better than this? no, no it can't. a fairy tale filled with heart, humour, adventure, morality, and smarts to boot!

ultimate climax to the longest bloody movie ever! i really think that lord of the rings pushed cinema to a new level in terms of scale, what can be done, and what we now all expect from ecip films.

man i could watch this film over and over and over and still be amazed at how it all fits together. really takes film format and self-conciousness to somewhere that i had never seen before, and have never seen since.

a beautiful, romantic, quirky (in all the right ways) film. it looks and sounds amazing, the only superbit dvd i have!

nowhere near as good as the first two spy kids films.its quite obvious that rodriguez used this film to test out his technology, and to test his 4 year old kid as a screenwriter. if you listen closely, you can hear rodriguez off cammera saying "man this 3d thing is sooooo cool". but having said that, it's still a bit of fun.

(sigh)... don't get me started. ok revenge flick, falls flat on its face and breaks its nose wide open as a punisher film. someday, somewhere, someone WILL make a cool punisher film.

should have been so much cooler.

i think i actually pissed my pants laughing the first time i watched this film. only a little dribble, but it was there! unfortunately it does hold up too well to multiple viewings, but deserves some credit for being the only 100 minute in-joke i've ever seen.

for the type of film it is, and for the time it was made in, i think this film was near perfect. it pushed the field of special effects, making way for countless science fiction films to come, the violence in it is shocking every single time i watch it (isn't it wierd how kids love things that they have no idea about? i remeber loving robocop when i was about 7. or loving the idea of it, i never saw it til i was 16.) and that last line is one of the best payoffs i can recall!

i absolutely loved this film the first few times i saw it, but it kinda fell a bit flat when i watched it recently. the concept is what science fiction dreams are made of, but the execution just seemed... to obvious. damn, i hate it when that happens. which is why i can never watch beavis and butthead again- i loved it sooooo much at the time, and i can just tell that its going to suck if i watch it again, and the 15 year old me would be very pissed.

i will defend this film to the death. or maybe until i'm just hurting bad. It is visually amognst the most compelling films i've seen, the rouges gallery here is fantasic, to see that amount of awesome actors together and under makeup is great, i have absolutely no problems with the story or its pacing, and i think the direction and performances are exactly what is required for a title such as dick tracy.

man john travolta is such an awesome bad guy! why couldn't he do something like this in the punisher (aside from having a pretty average script)? good fun, good fun indeed.

awesome concept, one that i'm still quite in love with. it handles the mix of animation and live action well, and bill murray is fantastic, but it is just missing that special something.

a beautiful transition from tv show to film - works well with the time frame and story, devolops and spends plenty of time with all its characters, and introduces a new one. its a pretty tough ask i reckon, and so many fail, but this one does it beautifully.

i don't think i have ever luaghed as hard as when i was watching this film for the first time. it was my friend mardo's birthday slumber party, i was in grade 6. everyone was getting pissed off with me cos i was laughing for too long, and they missed half the lines.

once you get used to how damn weird everyone looks, it's pretty enjoyable, getting to the heart of what makes christmas movies great. but thats what i come to expect of zemeckies though.

great energy and action sequences, and johnny depp's permance is friggin hilarious, but the story is really all over the place. i love rodriguez, but he really should have taken on a screenwriter for this one. or even told the third chapter of the mariachi trilogy rather than the fourth, since it was the third movie.

grouse genre film, even better is robert rodriguez's commentary and 10 minute film school, the most inspiring thing i've ever heard to get out there and make a movie.
