Bamako (2006,  Unrated)
Bamako
A current issue told from the point of view of the people who face it everyday. Story is very touching, just a tad too long and distant is some parts. I don't know much about the director to fully understand what is trying to tell or where his views stand. Still a must see just for the educational value of it.
9
Kill Bill: Volume 1 (2003,  R)

Moving in some cases, too bad it didn't delivered what it was aiming for and don't even get me started on the length of the film. Still a good movie though.

Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope
This one was probable my first epic film experience. You know the one with the WOW-factor. After seeing this I was hooked on sci-fi.
As much as I love the first three episodes, I just can?t stand the prequels.
39
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980,  PG)
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back
The Empire Strikes Back is my favorite Star Wars film. The first one was full of hope and innocence and this one is just the opposite.
Here we truly see how dark the force can be. I think it was also the first movie with a cliffhanger like that. Possibly the best sequel ever made.
40
Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983,  PG)
Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi
The last chapter of the best trilogy ever, before Lord of the Rings hit the big screen.
I loved the final showdown between father and son. It all fitted well together, except those Ewoks. Too bad they don't make these kinds of epic sci-fi movies anymore.

Even if it wasn't the greatest movie ever made in history, I still would have loved it too pieces. I can't believe that it took me 23 years before I laid eyes on this film. Orson Welles is a pure genius.
45
Spider-Man (2002,  PG-13)

Amelie (Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain) (2001,  R)
Amelie (Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain)
This film is one of the most positive films out there. Amelie is so refreshing and so full of life. I wish I had a look of life like hers. Cinematographically speaking it is top notch and mind blowing. Every colour matches the feelings of the characters. Audrey Tautou brings Amelie with so much energy that you just can't help fall for her. Actually this is one of the few movies that really deserve the term Romantic Comedy. All the others are just cheap knock-offs. The balance between drama and comedy is well balanced. I haven't seen a lot of French Cinema but this is my favourite so far.
58
The Fifth Element (1997,  PG-13)
59
Primer (2004,  PG-13)

63
Tampopo (1985,  Unrated)

Koroshiya 1 (Ichi the Killer) (2001,  R)
Koroshiya 1 (Ichi the Killer)
I always thought I had a strong stomach until I saw this.
I was watching it during normal boring Sunday afternoon, while eating my lunch . Of course I heard I about how gruesome it was and stuff but nothing prepared me to what I was about to see. It was also my first Takashi Miike film. Basically I felt like I was thrown into the lions den and ripped apart and spitten back.
I couldn't watch it in one go but when I finally finished it I was left confused and slightly nauseous with a big grin on my face. And that was my initiation to Takashi Miike's world.
