Sorcerer (1977,  PG)
4
Scarface (1983,  R)
Scarface
Very violent and chainsaw sequence still chills, even in the cut version.
5
Against All Odds (1984,  R)
Against All Odds
Good thriller and love affair story. Aussie Rachel Ward seems bloody hot and sexy in her naked scene.
6
Dead of Winter (1986,  R)
7
No Way Out (1987,  R)
No Way Out
Tense and racy thriller in Pentagon. Sean Young's hotter in naked when she asked her close friend to borrow her apartment for a night.

D.O.A. (1988,  R)
D.O.A.
This remake of a 1949 film noir has Dennis Quaid, given a slow-acting poison, setting out to find his own murderer before it's too late. It is an involving and entertaining little picture from start to finish. Quaid is at his caustic best; and he is sadly one of the most underused talents in Hollywood. His then beau Meg Ryan also appears with him, but as is usually the case, doesn't really make much of an impact.
And this was the second film of real-life ex-couple, Quaid and Ryan.

Lord of the Flies (1990,  R)
Lord of the Flies
I read William Golding's powerful novel when I was a Year 9 student. In this film version, they're know-all American military cadets, not English schoolboys from the following novel.
10
Body Parts (1991,  R)
11
Cape Fear (1991,  R)
Cape Fear
Average thriller with big revenge. I see there has three stars of the 1962 version, Robert Mitchum, Gregory Peck and Martin Balsam, appear in cameo roles, acting some of their younger brethren off the screen.
12
A Kiss Before Dying (1991,  R)
A Kiss Before Dying
This truly risible thriller, a remake of the 1956 film, is rendered even worse by Sean Young who, by playing twins, is doubly dreadful.
13
The Vanishing (1993,  R)
The Vanishing
This US version remake is getting much better than Dutch film because it shows what is happening more at the final scene.
14
A Bucket of Blood (Dark Secrets) (The Death Artist) (1995,  R)
15
Diabolique (1996,  R)
16
Ransom (1996,  R)
Ransom
What a riveting thriller in the stunning performances by Mel Gibson and Rene Russo, they reunite again since Lethal Weapon 3, as millionaire parents whose son is kidnapped.
17
A Perfect Murder (1998,  R)
18
Nightwatch (1998,  R)
19
Gloria (1999,  R)

The Thomas Crown Affair (1999,  R)

Eye of the Beholder (2000,  R)
Eye of the Beholder
Superb... dark and disturbing... beautiful and entertaining... chilling, emotional and thrill-packed between Ewan McGregor and Ashley Judd on their journeys around USA. Stephen Elliott's considerable skills as a filmmaker ensuring that this very classy thriller is not only exciting visually but also bold and original.
23
Under Suspicion (2000,  R)
24
Original Sin (2001,  R)
25
Unfaithful (2002,  R)
Unfaithful
I see Diane Lane's slow-burning, fiercely erotic performance charges the movie.
26
Insomnia (2002,  R)
27
The Truth About Charlie (2002,  PG-13)
The Truth About Charlie
This remake of 1963 movie is great, full of thriller by finding the truth.
28
Ripley's Game (2003,  R)
29
Wicker Park (2004,  PG-13)
30
The Stepford Wives (2004,  PG-13)
31
The Manchurian Candidate (2004,  R)
The Manchurian Candidate
This blustery Oedipal update of the harrowing Cold War thriller is alternately tense and ridiculous.
32
The Wicker Man (2006,  PG-13)
The Wicker Man
Really strange haunting and mystery story I ever watched. But I haven't seen the 1973 British original film yet.
33
The Departed (2006,  R)
The Departed
This is the best American crime classic film of the year and this US remake version has some familiar scenes to Hong Kong's Internal Affairs. I like Leo DiCaprio in his outstanding performance as an undercover cop with the mob as what I think he is just like Tony Leung's role in 2003 Hong Kong film. Also for Jack Nicholson is the bestest performance as the crime boss character than Robert DeNiro in director Martin Scorsese's past crime films.
34
The Hitcher (2007,  R)
The Hitcher
Great little scary, but more thriller in this remake film and little different to the original. Wonderfully black characterisation by Sean Bean as the hitchhiker from psycho-hell.
35
The Invisible (2007,  PG-13)
The Invisible
Superb spooky supernatural mystery in the tradition of the 1990's Ghost. This film boasts excellent performances all round - most notably Marcia Gay Harden, Chris Marquette, and Justin Chatwin himself, who helps the audience sympathise with his confused character.
36
Sleuth (2007,  R)
37
Funny Games (2008,  R)
38
Possession (2008,  PG-13)

13 (2009,  Unrated)
