Cold Creek Manor
Not a bad thriller not as scary or spooky as some. Similar to Cape Fear in some ways.

Signs (2002,  PG-13)
Signs
Not one of my favourite M.Night Shyamalan film's. Has a great idea, especially surrounding all the theories behind crop circles but overall the film fails to deliver what you hope for.
71
Hannibal (2001,  R)
Hannibal
The weakest in the series, with very lttle action as the FBI try to close in on Hannibal. Just not the same without Jodie, Red Dragon is much better.
72
The Butterfly Effect 2 (2006,  R)
The Butterfly Effect 2
A very good sequel if on a lower budget. Not as violent or dramatic as the first, but sexed up a little. Overall an enjoyable film.

Ransom
A very good thriller with a strong cast, set in New York as a top businessman has his son kidnapped. However he goes against the traditional way of dealing with kidnappers, but at what cost?
74
Payback (1999,  R)
Payback
An often overlooked film with an all star cast about a tale of revenge. Mel has to deal with con artists, bent cops, organised crime bosses and Lucy Liu as a domanatrix to get revenge on those who double crossed him. Quite violent at times but a cracking film. You'll like it if you enjoyed A history of violence or Running scared.

The Sentinel
Not as good as I hoped it would be, but still entertaining.
76
Snake Eyes (1998,  R)
Snake Eyes
An ok thriller set at a large hotel on fight night after the assassination of the Secretary of Defense. Makes good use of flash backs from different characters perspectives. Ok for a nights viewing.
77
Fallen (1997,  R)
Fallen
The idea sounded good, and Denzel gives a good performance as always but something was missing from this for me. A bit more action or darker storyline would have been better.
78
The Manchurian Candidate (2004,  R)
The Manchurian Candidate
A very slow odd film that takes too long to get to the point.....by which time it does, you won't care what is going on.
79
Freedomland (2006,  R)
Freedomland
A film that deals with race and class as a young white mother claims of being highjacked and having her child snatched while near the rundown area of the city. But is all as it seems?
80

Red Planet
A poor sci-fi thriller in which not a lot happens. Must have been straight to DVD.
81
Proof of Life (2000,  R)
Proof of Life
A cool drama as Meg Ryans fights for Proof of life for her kidnapped husband.
82
Open Water (2004,  R)
Open Water
Supposedly based on a true stroy, only a tiny bit can be from what happens. Even at 80mins this seems quite long and boring. Has a raw feel to it, filmed with hand held cams to be more realistic. By the end you'll be glad it's over. Not everyone's type of film.
83
Suspect Zero (2004,  R)
Suspect Zero
Sounded good, the idea of psychic profilers tracking serial killers but the execution of the film is pretty bad. Could have been great.
84
Three (Survival Island) (2005,  Unrated)
Three (Survival Island)
Classed as an erotic thriller, unfortunately failing on both counts. Kelly Brook does get naked for about 2 mins of the film and that's it. There isn't mush tension, or scares and it has a daft voodoo sub-plot. A similar and much better film, also starring Billy Zane, is Deep Calm.
85
White Noise 2: The Light (2007,  PG-13)
White Noise 2: The Light
A pretty good sequel dealing with near death experiences has a good twist if not groundbreaking.
86
The Gift (2000,  R)
The Gift
A cool psychological thriller with some neat twists. Great perfomances by all the leads, if you like thrillers like Sleeping with the enemy and What lies beneath you'll enjoy this.
87
The Return (2006,  PG-13)
The Return
Wasn't sure what to expect with this, but it's not like the The Ring or Grudge. Very short at just 76mins and not a great deal happens until the last 20mins. However after a slow start the ending makes for a good film with a slight twist, but not scary at all.
88
Rear Window (1998,  R)
Rear Window
An ok thriller, brings it up to date with all the modern gadgets. However it has a very simple story and it's quite obvious as to what will happen.
89
Jagged Edge (1985,  R)
Jagged Edge
A great, tense and violent thriller as a laywer defends a man accused of killing his wife.....and starts to fall for him herself.
90
Hard Rain (1997,  R)
Hard Rain
A cool story for this action thriller. A group of robbers try to rob an armoured van after it has collected a lot of money........but a local flood makes everything more difficult for everyone.
91
High Crimes (2002,  PG-13)
High Crimes
A good military, court room drama with a strong cast.
92
Open Water 2 (Adrift) (2006,  R)
Open Water 2 (Adrift)
Better than Open Water as it is a bit more dramatic but seemed quite easy to get back on the boat eventually?
93
The Beach (2000,  R)
The Beach
A pretty good thriller as a young backpacker travelling through Thailand learns of a secret island and amazing beach in paradise. However there are soon many moral and other problems between the group. Quite a strange film at times, and the location looks great. The later half of the film is full of tension as things go from bad to worse.
94
The Juror (1996,  R)
The Juror
A good thriller as a young single mother finally gets to do Jurory duty. Something she has always been interested in. Only for it to cause trouble for her as local gangsters try to infuence her verdict.
95
The Abyss (1989,  PG-13)
The Abyss
A cool sci-fi/thriller film as a deep submersible is used to check on a nuclear sub that seems to have been sunk. What caused it and what else could be that far down!?
96
Deliverance (1972,  R)
Deliverance
A lads weekend goes horribley wrong in this violent thriller!

The Bone Collector
A very good cat and mouse thriller as an ex-cop teams up with a rookie to investigate crime scenes to track down a serial killer.
98
Godsend (2003,  PG-13)
Godsend
A very average thriller with no real scares as a couple agree to raise a clone of their dead son. However is the new kid a pure copy? Hide and seek is a bit similar but much better.
99
Blow Out (1981,  R)
Blow Out
A pretty good old thriller. Shows its age a little now though.
100
The Black Dahlia (2006,  R)
The Black Dahlia
A good film, well made if a little confusing at times. Similar to L.A. Confidential.
101
Premonition (2007,  PG-13)
Premonition
A good film some may find hard to follow, due to different timelines. However it makes for a pretty good thriller and although it didn't end as expected, it probably made the film better for being different.
I thought Sandra Bullock was great in this and having watched Miss Congeniality 2 a few days before, it just goes to show she can do comedy, action or drama equally well!
102
Fracture (2007,  R)
Fracture
A great legal thriller with a strong performance from Anthony Hopkins, very sinister. Although I did realise how he did it straight away, but it has a good twist at the end to. Might be a bit slow in places for some.
103
Zodiac (2007,  R)
Zodiac
A very good film, if slightly drawn out, that follows the story of the Zodiac killer of the 70's around San Francisco. The fact it is all based on true events and evidence will hook you in even more. It can be a bit slow but you you like cat and mouse thrillers you should like this.
104
Sunshine (2007,  R)
Sunshine
A pretty good film, a sort of space disaster/thriller film as a crew set off for the Sun to drop a nuclear payload to kickstart it back to life and get Earth out of an Ice age. They are the 2nd team to set off, will they make it or suffer the fate off the 1st missing crew?
It has some good acting and SFX, the sets for the spaceship look very impressive and show some good ideas about the future of space travel. It's a bit slow to start but it makes up for this as things get more dramatic towards the end. Better than I expected it to be.
105
Eastern Promises (2007,  R)
Eastern Promises
This is very similar to A Histroy of Violence with the same director (David Cronenberg) and Viggo Mortensen teaming up again. It is just as violent and possibly more bloody and graphic. The acting is of a very good standard and although it is a bit slow at times you are likely to be engrossed in the story too much to notice.
A midwife delivers the child of a young Russian girl who dies at birth. Trying to trace her relatives she gets her Russian uncle to translate her diary which only uncovers a look into the life of the Russian mafia in London. If you liked A History of Violence, The Godfather you should really like this film.
106
The Illusionist (2006,  PG-13)
The Illusionist
A great film, with some fine actors and a great story that has a bit of a twist as well. Just as good as The Prestige and just as entertaining for different reasons. If you enjoyed that you should like this as well!
107
Firewall (2006,  PG-13)
Firewall
A very good thriller with a well chosen cast, hits all the right spots for this type of thriller. If you liked Hostage, Panic Room you should enjoy this as well.
108
One Hour Photo (2002,  R)
One Hour Photo
A good thriller with a great performance by Robin Williams showing he can do more than funny voices! He plays the role of a strange, creepy photo developer who makes up for his lack of family and friends by thinking of himself as an uncle to a family whose photo's he develops. Quite a strange film with a bit of a twist.
109
The Number 23 (2007,  R)
The Number 23
A very good thriller with Jim Carrey doing very well in a non-comic role for a change! If you like Stir of Echoes, Secret Window you should like this to!
110
When a Stranger Calls (2006,  PG-13)
When a Stranger Calls
A very good suspense film, but the end will leave you wanting more!
111
Breakdown (1997,  R)
Breakdown
A very good thriller, well acted and with a good story to. Has some great scenes, action and tension all the way. Quite a few well known faces in this surprised it slip me by!
112
Disturbia (2007,  PG-13)
Disturbia
This is a very cool, very good thriller. It's a bit like a modern day remake of Rear Window but with plenty of comic moments as well that it is also a bit like The 'Burbs, The girl next door. Overall a very enjoyable thriller and the pace really picks up towards the end with a few good "red herrings" along the way!
113
Copycat (1995,  R)
Copycat
A great cat and mouse thriller as a Copycat serial killer is on the loose. A great film worth checking out.
114
Detox (D-Tox) (,  R)
115
Mindhunters (2005,  R)
Mindhunters
This is a very good little know film. It's a mix of cat and mouse thriller with the FBI trying to track a killer at one of their training facilities. It starts as a thriller and soon becomes a horror as puzzles are put in the teams way similar to the traps in the Saw films. Along with an impressive cast and great setting this is worth hunting out.
116
Basic Instinct 2 (2006,  R)
Basic Instinct 2
Not a bad sequel considered it was torn apart by critics. Doesn't quite have the same steaminess of the original or quite as good a plot. However if you are a fan of thrillers you should enjoy the little twists in this. Also shows off some of London for a change.
117
What Lies Beneath (2000,  PG-13)
What Lies Beneath
I love these type of supernatural thrillers, very well made with a strong cast.
118
Mr. Brooks (2007,  R)
Mr. Brooks
A great film about a top businessman who has a dark secret, he is addicted to killing people! Definitely not the normal run of the mill serial killer film. The acting is great and the story is very good with some new ideas on the theme. Overall not the usual cat and mouse thriller but a very good film!
119
Joy Ride (Road Kill) (2001,  R)
Joy Ride (Road Kill)
A very good modern thriller that has elements from other great thrillers like Duel, The Hitcher. It was enjoyable and will have you on the edge of your seat at times.
120
Shattered (Butterfly on a Wheel) (2007,  R)
Shattered (Butterfly on a Wheel)
A pretty decent thriller, although not surprised it was straight to DVD. Saying that it does have a strong well known cast but just has a low budget feel to it. It's watchable especially if you like any of the actors but just not as intense or gripping as better thrillers. Called Butterfly on a wheel in the UK.
121
Disturbing Behavior (1998,  R)
Disturbing Behavior
This is a cool teen thriller. Suprised it's not more well know as I only saw it through a recommendation. It's good fun if predictable. Very similar to The Faculty and with a strong cast.
122
Perfect Stranger (2007,  R)
Perfect Stranger
Surprised at some of the reviews I have seen for this? I thought this was a very good thriller with a very good twist, for once that you can't see coming right from the start of the film. Maybe it's a bit slow to start with but has one of the best endings for a thriller I've seen in recent years! Go check it out!!
123
Red Rock West (1993,  R)
Red Rock West
A pretty decent thriller with a lot of well known faces. It's about a drifter making out to be a hitman, but things go from strange to worse when he finds out who the client is and and the real hitman shows up. Worth a look next time it comes on TV.
124
Ein unbekannter rechnet ab (Ten Little Indians)(And Then There Were None) (1974,  PG)
Ein unbekannter rechnet ab (Ten Little Indians)(And Then There Were None)
One of the best Agatha Christie films to be made! Featuring an all star cast this is a timeless classic that has inspired many other films, Identity and House on Haunted hill spring to mind. If you like a good murder mystery or are a fan of Agatha Christie check this out, now known in the UK as And then there were none.
125
Unknown (2006,  Unrated)
Unknown
A very good if short thriller about 5 guys who wake up in a warehouse with short term memory loss. They deduct that 2 of them are hostages and 3 are kidnappers, but who is who?
Great idea for a thriller and it has a fine cast and a couple of twists along the way as you try to guess who the bad guys are. Worth checking out.
126
Untraceable (2008,  R)
Untraceable
A pretty good thriller as a killer creates a website with Saw like contraptions that mean the more hits the site gets the quicker the victims die. A good idea and quite well done. Well worth checking out.
127
Awake (2007,  R)
Awake
A fairly good thriller if very predictable and seriously lacking in any tension or suspence. Quite gory surgery on show and the actors do a good job just far too obvious an idea really but still worth a watch.
128
The Watcher (2000,  R)
The Watcher
An average thriller about a serial killer who taunts the FBI detective who has been on his case for the past few years. Watchable, but pretty straight forward compared to most thrillers.
129
Cleaner (2008,  R)
Cleaner
A reasonably good thriller with a very strong cast. Not the best story and a little predictable but fine for an evenings viewing.
130
The Eye (2008,  PG-13)
The Eye
I have to say I have not seen any of the Asian originals of The Eye....yet. So I can't really compare it to that as yet. It seemed to have mixed reviews when it came out, but on here it seems to have got mainly good reviews.
I would say it is definitely more of a thriller than a horror. If you are expecting it to be like The Ring, The Grudge you might be a bit disappointed. It has more in common with the likes of The Return, The Mothman prophecies. Overall it's a good thriller, a little slow to start with, but with some cool imagery and a good conclusion.
131
El Orfanato (The Orphanage) (2007,  R)
El Orfanato (The Orphanage)
A great Spanish ghost story/thriller which I'm sure said it was directed by Guiilermo Del Toro? I saw the trailer and had to see this. It's very creepy at times, largely due to the spooky location. It's a very good story well told and directed. Reminded me of The Others, The 6th sense most of all, so if you like those you'll love this.
132
Shelter Island (2003,  R)
Shelter Island
A low budget thriller with a few recognizable faces in it, especially Patsy Kensit for UK audiences. The film poster makes the film look more interesting than it is. I was expecting more of a killer loose on a remote island, but it's not like that. Although not an erotic thriller it had quite a lot of nudity, by body doubles any how. Predictable but kind of ok for a watch once.
133
Pathology (2008,  R)
Pathology
A pretty decent thriller if all a tad too obvious, not too mention just slightly bizarre?! Very gory, gruesome in places baring in mind the title. Ok for a watch once but far from great.
134
Fear (1996,  R)
Fear
A very good thriller, I was very surprised I've not heard this mentioned before as it stars a young Reese Witherspoon and Mark Wahlberg. A little slow to start and predictable but a very good tense ending with some memorable scenes! Very enjoyable check it out if you missed it to.
135
Deception (2008,  R)
Deception
An very good cast, a good idea but a poor-ish execution only make this an ok thriller. I had high hopes for a lot more but the title alone really gives any idea of a twist away right from the start which was annoying. Hugh Jackman was very good in his role I thought and there are some sexy appearances from Natasha Henstridge (Species, Ghost of Mars) and Maggie Q (Die Hard 4). However it is all too straight forward to work out if you have seen any decent thriller before. Ok for a look but nothing special, you might prefer Derailed instead.

Femme Fatale (2002,  R)
Femme Fatale
A pretty decent sultry thriller directed by Brian DePalma. A jewel thief tries to cover her past but a chance photo of her alerts the people she has crossed before. Enjoyable if not quite a classic but I do like the ending and Rebecca Romijn suits the role to a T before her success as Mystique in the X-Men series.

Solstice (2007,  PG-13)
Solstice
This is a mix of thriller/horror with a few recognizable faces in the cast. Not the film I was expecting it to be, quite similar to What lies beneath, Stir of echoes. If you like those you might enjoy this as well.

Single White Female (1992,  R)
Single White Female
A very good sexy thriller which seems to have stood the test of time. A good story and idea for a thriller as a woman advertises for a flatmate. All seems well at first before the new resident starts to become more weird and threatening as time goes by. It has a good strong cast and it is a lot better than many recent thrillers that have tried to surpass it!

The Pelican Brief (1993,  PG-13)
The Pelican Brief
A very good political conspiracy thriller with an outstanding cast. Based on the John Grisham novel. This is a entertaining film with a deep plot, it can be a little slow at times and light on action but overall an enjoyable well made film.

The Flock (2008,  R)
The Flock
For a straight to DVD film this is actually a pretty good thriller. Gere and Claire Danes give good performances about a tough subject matter. They monitor sex offenders in the community, when a teenage girl is kidnapped in the area their suspicions are raised. A bit slow at the start but the second half of the film is good cat and mouse stuff. Don't expect much of Avril Lavigne in this though, a one scene cameo is all you get from her in this.

A Perfect Murder (1998,  R)
A Perfect Murder
A very good thriller with a great well established cast. Pity David Suchet didn't get a bit more screen time though. Has some good twists but nothing you don't really expect to be honest. Definitely worth a watch though.

Play Misty for Me (1971,  R)
Play Misty for Me
A great little thriller and the first film directed by Clint Eastwood. I imagine quite powerful in its day, one of the first obsessive, stalker thrillers. No doubt encouraged the likes of Fatal attraction and countless others.

Lakeview Terrace (2008,  PG-13)
Lakeview Terrace
A good thriller about a black racist cop who happens to be the neighbour from hell for a young inter-racial couple. It's an enjoyable film and the tension between the two lead characters is good as the incidents between them escalate throughout the film. It reaches a predictable conclusion in a bit of a rush towards the end, but it's still a worthy watch.

Pacific Heights (1990,  R)
Pacific Heights
A pretty decent thriller that is quite tense. The tenant from hell arrives causing chaos for a young couple struggling with there first house. Decent film with a good cast but a bit dated now.

Slow Burn (2007,  R)
Slow Burn
A pretty decent crime thriller with a strong cast. Not a lot of action but I thought it was a good story with some decent plot twists. In some elements it is like the usual suspects in the way the story unfolds with quite a few red herrings along the way. An enjoyable film that seemed to slip under the radar.

The Thomas Crown Affair (1999,  R)
The Thomas Crown Affair
I thought this was a pretty decent light hearted, sexy, crime thriller. More of a heist film to be honest. it's fun seeing how they did it, if the cops can figure it out and if he can get away with it. Strong cast and a well put together film overall.

Frantic (1988,  R)
Frantic
A very average thriller that is quite slow at times. Lacking a lot of action and suspense. It's starting to look quite dated now and I think I got it mixed up with Presumed innocent, also starring Harrison Ford, which is a much better thriller as I recall.
148
The Invasion (2007,  PG-13)
The Invasion
Another interpretation of Invasion of the body snatchers. This was an ok thriller, well made with a good cast. It just lacks any real punch, it's not tense, gripping or scary in any way. A missed opportunity really. I'd recommend The Faculty instead as that is a much more fun film, also influenced by the body snatchers.

New Town Killers (2008,  Unrated)
New Town Killers
A pretty decent low budget Scottish film. The idea is similar to Hard target, but minus the martial arts and this time given an urban setting. Two young rich men hunt down the lower classes desperate for money in a game of hide and seek. The plot can be a bit odd at times but it's a entertaining watch.

The International (2009,  R)
The International
I thought this was a good conspiracy action/ thriller with a good cast. It's a very entertaining film with a good plot, it's enjoyable watching all the plot lines unfold and the connections made to take them on to the next lead. The film is shot in many locations including New York, Milan, Turkey and almost has a slight Bond, Bourne ultimatum feel to it. The shoot out at the Guggenheim gallery in New York has been one of the best I've seen since Heat. A solid well made film that should appeal to action, thriller fans or fans of the similar films mentioned.

Just looking at this list gives me the creeps. How do you get the nerve to see so many horror movies? LoL, I'm a chicken, but anyway, I think you have a lot of good movies on that list. I strongly agree with your comment on Premonition. I loved that movie.
