bale is superb as a magician in 19th century london, who feuds wih fellow magician hugh jackman, great direction by nolan, and a great ending which will make you think and think, and caine is lovable as ever,

after lord of the rings peter jackson was on top of hollywood, and he choose a all time fav of his, a film that made him wanna be a filmmaker, a remake of 1933s king kong, it comes off well, great 30s setting newyork looking great, the cast are great, especially jack black, as the orson welles type director, kong him self looks stunning, superb work, and check out the scrap between him and 3 t rexes, superb. but if anything dampens film, its to many really dodgy effects, the stampeed is badlty done, talk about bad blue screen work, and a few others, but over all at over 3 hours its a thrilling ride, superb set pieces, and a few scary bits, especialy on skull island, check out extended version, it adds some nice little scenes, including a great river attack by a monster, just dont laugh when you watch stampeed attack, or do, it is funy
