We Own the Night (2007, R)
a look back at 1988 newyork, and 2 brothers 1 a cop operating a task force, played by warlberg, and a nightclub manager with small ties to crime, played by phoenix, as his club is the target for a bust and a hanging out poin for some dodgy dealings, by warlberg, phoenix must decide who his loyalties lie cwith,, family or business, interesting crime thriller going back to the time when neyork was loosinmg batlet on crime, warlberg stays close to his haractor in the departed, and phoenix gets all the good lines, duvall is reliable as ever as the cop whos seen it all, some great action and shootouts towards the 2nd half as well, including a nice little car chase in the rain, not to over the top and quite realistic, overall a good solid police story |
