guy richie is back aparantly, but for me when he does gangland england, hes never been away, yes swept away was a disaster, but not a film he should have made, but lock stock, snatch, were classics, and revolver, is just not apreciated, and shows that when david lynch confuses people, he is praised, richie does it hes slated, whatever revolver was it was certainly stylish. now with rocknrolla were back in london, but id say more the london of producing partners mathew vaughns film,,,layer cake, than snatch, but certainly these charactors pop up and are vital to plot, again from the get go were in richies world, a great voice over which sets the scene perfectly, and introducing charactors. again a lot of criss crossing of charactors throughout. and comes together quite nicely when the end credits near, gerald butler in a way replacing vacant jason statham, is a typical richie charactor, who leads the plot along with various others, including bad businessman played by tom wilkinson, superb comedy and edgy moments combined throughout, with the plot running along smoothly, great score also, and violence, great, looking at this, theres more in the works, following charactors created in this film, especially the so called rocknrolla of the piece, cant wait
danny boyle jumps ship on 28 weeks later, but does something v different, a great sci fi film, with a message, great visuals, and a good looking cast, all the usual danny boyle quirks, music and cutting are top notch
daniel craig is great in the beginning as a big shot movie star, fading away, and harry eden as his younger self, living in england, and getting a sexual awakening, and eventual tragedy coming into equation, great acting all round, especially from craig and eden, a interesting way of doing flashback, all in one big chunk, and helps greatly, and of course craig now bookending the film, a intereting choice post bond, but anyone who knows his career before bond, will tell you, hes had some great parts
guy ritchie brings a lot to holmes world, with loads of his visual style, and junior and law make exellent holmes and watson, with a eye on future films
emily blunt shines as victoria, as we see her in her year before and after she becomes queen of england, and the struggle for her to come through and not pass pover duty due to her age, and the eventual marriage to prince albert of belgium, as usual with these kind of films, it looks very nice to look at, great locations, and a slice of british history, worth knowing, blunt, finally getting the role she deserves after shining in everything shes been part off
a good role from decaprio and russell crowe from far away, in a film relevent to today, a good story, with some nice touches, ridley scott doing tony scott, doesent pay off fully, but a good film
okay, cant give review of this, simply because i dont know, what happens, but wanna defend it anyway,
jake green (straithern) is out of jail, wanting revenge on crime boss, dorothy(ray liotta) with a little help from avi(andre benjamin) and zach(vincent pastore),
basically thats realy all i know, but this is very well directed, by guy richie,(lockstock, snatch), and i think because its richie doing this he was really slated for it, nobody gave this film a chance, simply because it doesent make sence, now heres the thing, david lynch does it, hes aplauded, wins awards at cannes, gets 5 star reviews in empire, even though reviewers dont get it. richie does it, its a embarresment, which is wrong, i think theres something in this and furthner down the line, it will emerge, and maybe become a classic, straithern as usuall, is great, again after lockstock, snatch, a great partnership, with richie, great visuals, and music. give it a go, so you wont understand it, so what, its just great filmmaking, hey watch it again, maybe just maybe youll understand it, oh and if you do tell me about it.
a good role for frances macdormond, as a down on her luck nanny, who gets to spend a day pretending to be a social secretery for a wannabe actress played by amy adams, here she sees the other side of life nd the love life of vthe young actress, and cant help but helping putting her life straight. both actresses do good work and make the film watchable throughout, and although it does desend into french farce at times, its enjoyable, even the predictable 3rd act where sadness sets in.
