great debut, from neil marshall( desent) a group of british soldiers, including brit actors kevin mckidd, sean pertwee, are sent on a training mission out in the woods, but discover, a platoon of soldiers, cut to pieces, as they get the wits about them, they discover the deaths are caused by some kind of werewolf creature, some get killed the rest take refuge, in a farm house which may hold more questions than answers, nothing new on show here, rverything youve seen ben done to death, but this film is really gory, and perhaps more inportantly, very funny, great action sequences, people getting bitten stabbed, and anything else. and great one liners, a good film before marshalls foll up the desent, another horror thats different, but just as good, you love this if you like, eil dead and from dusk till dawn

2 early roles from catherin zeta jones, and a english acented ewen mcgregor in a supporting role, not a original film but all performances are good especially these two and showing there talent, but story, about raising money to keep a surfer cafe open in cornwall is engageing enough, with some nice british humour, and zeta jones is pretty hot here too,which helps

how do you make a great futuristic action film with a message, just ask dog soldiers, the descent director neil marshall, get inspired by, 28 days later, madmax, aliens apocolypse now, braveheart, gladiatorand even the bad, postman, waterworld, robinhood, the future, scotland is hit by a virus, but gets so out of hand, the rest of the u.k and world turns its back, and blockades the country in, with a very inpressive wall, left to die, forgotton, 30 odd years later, in london, the virus reemerges, and its thought as there may be people running around in glasgow, a scottish city, a cure can be found before its too late, so a unit is sent in to find a man, who was working on a cure, played by malcolm mcdowell. and here starts a film full of susence action, gore, great set pieces, as once its known glasgow is not derilect, a mad group of outcasts living there life there way, dont make it easy, a great opening five minutes, setting up story, and situation, a litle charactor set up, and then set piece after set piece, one moment were in a future gone bad, and a little action later, were in medievil scotland, not literaly, but great seeing why this is, more set pieces follow, and more over the top violence, but great to watch, marshall really knows how to stage a set piece, wether its a action scene or party scene, this you gotta check out,,, anyone for a sean pertwee leg,, and the finalmadmax style chase will leave you breathless, if theres one flaw, its the use of south africa standing in for scotland, its so ovious, but the chase is still spot on, marshall, is a major talent, going directly oposite to last film the descent, a great example of how action films should be staged and executed
