Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999, PG)
I think this is probably my favourite star wars film. It still has the amazing plot and fantasy to it but the special effects and lightsaber battles have improved so much. Although you've just got to love the puppets I think special effects helped the film a lot, and the lightsaber battles are so much quicker, believable and have more emotion than in the old films. The pod racing was brilliant and actually built a lot of suspense, and the new characters are a lot more enjoyable and can also be enjoyed by younger ages now, mainly because of the clumsy Jar Jar Binks. Darth Maul is an incredibly cool character and I would watch the film, literally just to see his battle at the end. |
