Wow....what a beautifully made, heart-breaking film. The trailer and Synopsis make you think the film is about one thing, but an unpredictable twist at the end completely changes everything. Debra Winger is brilliant in this film, just as she was in Terms of Endearment. I cried my heart out. What more can I say?
What a gripping film about kids left to fend for themselves. With a mother who is neglectful, it is up to the eldest daughter to be the new mother figure. And it is truely beautiful to see the sacrifices the eldest daughter made for her siblings.
I really liked this film because it had lots of twists and turns all the way until the very end. It is also interesting to see a film made about a sub-culture I know very little about.
When I first looked at this movie, I thought it was porbably just a wannabe Mean Girls film. However, it was excellent. I recommend it to every girl in school and the book as well.
