This movie has no explosions, no aliens, no dinasours, and no cliffhangers that make you yearn for a sequal, like some movie's do (i.e. the first time you saw The Matrix). This movie is atmospheric. It moves at a pace that is slower than most movies. This is a movie that makes you think, ponder, and want to explore. This is a movie that pulls you in, it does not suck...you in. If you don't have a brain to speak of then you will probably not like this movie!

Truly astounding! ESPECIALLY, as a true story, or as a movie based on true events. A VASTLY underated horror film! And it gives some interesting insight into the Haitian culture and their level of immerseness into voodoo.

I gave it three stars bc I am not a fan of unhappy endings & this movie does NOT end happily...

A brilliantly acted, directed, & scripted film, to say the least! And although Downey may have not been acting so much as playing himself, he gave soo much of himself to play this role that one can not question his abilities as an actor. And if you do then you are a fool!

...dk798 IS WRONG! Although this is a dramatic script, this movie is filled with hilarity, but primarily only of the slapstick & sick humor kind. If you don't like that sort of thing then stay away from this movie! But if you can appreciate that, then this is something that you should definitely see!

I see Jeff Shannon didn't screw this one up!

This was a damn good film that was beaten up by many ppl who think the sequal should never have been made, when they probably didn't even see this movie.

I need to watch it again. It was awesome though! If & when you see it respond on here & let me know. I would like to know about anyone who thinks that he did or didn't do it & why. Personally, I think he's guilty as sin!

Seeing this movie explained, well, .... A LOT about the man who did so much for comic books, & the industry as a whole, at a time when we probably needed it most.

A vastly underated & virtually unknown movie. I found it interesting that there were two version's of the movie, each with their own screenplay, which seems to be quite similar to a regular version and a directors cut. Isaac Asimov wrote the screenplay for the American version & that was probably the version that I saw and I would love to see the original version. A great movie all around! If you don't have a sense of humor then go to walmart and buy yourself one, ...I hear they sell'em cheap!

An excellent film! It is about a man who loses his wife, early in the film and, in their marriage. And he spends the rest of his life wondering "..what am I suppost to do with the rest of my life?". And it truly is an excellent piece of work. The ending makes me wonder...

This movie was hysterical! I can't believe that so many ppl didn't like it... what a bunch of morons! Box office disappointment my ass! This movie is awesome and is vastly underated!

This movie was really awesome! DOZENS of times better than Final Fantasy, which came out around the same time, but, ironically, bc Final Fantasy had the name recognition, it did quite well in the theaters and THE STORY SUCKED!!! Whereas Titan A.E., with no name recognition at all, excellent animation, and a great story, first rate actors, all of that not withstanding, did terrible in the theaters....wtf!?

I sincerely hope that this movie is an accurate description of its inspriation, for if it is not a good & true accurate description of history then truly this movie sucks & history is perhaps worse, or better, & perhaps we will never truly know. I know for a fact that I would not enjoy the movie very much if it was largely fiction.

A character driven story to be sure, it is FAR FAR superior to it's remake which was mostly just a waste of my time.

It's been forever since I've seen it, but what I remember about it is that it is a very hardhitting movie with a very sad ending.

The original was a good horror movie. I saw the first sequal and it sucked soo bad that I wanted to get a lawyer and file a lawsuit against the stupid bastards who dared make such a piece of garbage and furthermore to rob me of 90 + minutes of my life....

Just watch the original!

This movie is awesome....

A highly underated film about love and family. Being Irish myself & interested in my own geneology this is perhaps something that I have waiting for me. The story surrounding the flashback can be distracting at times but it is not without merit & took away little from the film. A gem to behold...

An underated, purely character driven, poignant & funny tale of love & relationships in the modern age. I especially love the scene where the character Lisa mistakes Jeremy's character for the character of Ray and Jeremy gets laid!

An interesting chore to handle & sit thru. This movie actually made me angry with questions like "WTF is this movie about!?!". Tho I found the plot to be very good, as I sat there & grappled with the subtitles this movie played & I found it more than interesting while I found it to be more than a little suffering from a lack of character development!! I was surprised actually that the acting was so good since the character development was so poor.

I'm praying that this movie is remade with Delroy Lindo, Christopher Walken, Angelina Jolie, & John Cusack,...

I was AMAZED at how good this movie was! Obscenely dark fucking funny!

Jeff Shannon is an idiot! This movie is awesome! It is a character driven story, about characters dealing with an immensly powerful technology that could very literally be the end of the beginning or the beginning of the end for human civilization as they, the characters, know it. A powerful, and immensly underated, film.

In a way it's a shame since this movie did have a lot of potential, not much of a story unfortunately. He does go buckwild with that shotgun, that's for sure!
