The Shining (1980,  R)
The Shining
heeeeeeeeeeeeeres johnny! Yes the famous line. Amazing performance by Jack Nicholson. Now this movie had changed alot of things compared to the book; like the murder weapon. But all in all the movie still became a creepy, scary, amazing film.

28 Days Later (2003,  R)
28 Days Later
You get scared in the fact that you can feel what he is going through
3
Stir of Echoes (1999,  R)
Stir of Echoes
This had a sad yet great story. It all ties out till the end. Leaving the story in suspense and still making you jump and shiver at scenes. A great performance by Kevin Bacon. Koepp had some really interesting scenes in here that really will frighten you. Some including the stop and go motion that looks really freaky when dead people are involved.
4
The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005,  PG-13)
The Exorcism of Emily Rose
This movie was done very well. The story and acting was great. Plus the movie was scary as hell. You get really freaked out. The whole concept was to make something better than the exorcist. I think they may have pulled it off in my eyes, but maybe not in others.

The Eye (Gin gwai) (2002,  R)
The Eye (Gin gwai)
This movie had a great story. It was almost a really great piece of work for a horror film. But some parts kind of took the scare out of it. The full creepiness of the film was amazing. Showing you that you do not need all that gore and blood to make something scary. The movie was mentally scary with some added suspense. The cast was really good also and made the movie very enjoyable.
6
The Evil Dead (1981,  NC-17)
The Evil Dead
Kinda scary and a great B film
7
Flatliners (1990,  R)
Flatliners
Pretty good movie about the afterlife...well trying to get to it
8
Gothika (2003,  R)
Gothika
Great performance by Halle Berry and Robert Downey Jr. The movie had a good story like. The movie lacked being scary but did have some great creppy parts. They use the really fast stop go motion in here and that is very freaky.
9
The Grudge (2004,  PG-13)
The Grudge
Pretty freaky movie. Great make up and there is a sound they use in the film that will haunt you. One problem with the whole movie though. Lack of story. You find yourself very confused. You have to watch the original Ju-On to understand it all.
10
The Omen (1976,  R)
The Omen
The movie had that 70's style and feel to it and it is hard to get use to it. But you have to look at it as a whole. The movie and story were pretty good. The kid really scared the hell out of me. He just did a great job of being creepy. It is great how the movie pans out.
11
Cujo (1983,  R)
Cujo
Very creepy feel. Now you would think that a dog would not make a scary film, but it did. They really did some great make up and coloring on this dog to make him very furious looking. And you could really feel scared too because if you were in the cast's situation, it would be horrible.
12
The Grudge 2 (2006,  PG-13)
The Grudge 2
This movie was just like the first, a little worse acting, but some great jumping and freaky parts. Good make up and nice story. Still a bit confusing, but this sequel actually explained more and helped fix holes from the first.
13
Ju-on: The Grudge (Ju-on 3) (2003,  R)
Ju-on: The Grudge (Ju-on 3)
This movie had one thing better than the American version and one thing worst. The better part was the story and all movies need a good and not confusing story. The bad part was the fact because there was so much story to cover, it lacked scary scenes. But overall was pretty good.
14
The Ring Two (2005,  PG-13)
The Ring Two
They seemed to get rid of the suspense in this one and just relied on the girl being scary. One part was very crazy and it had to do with the well. The rest was just ok and I think it could of been made better.
15
The Ring (2002,  PG-13)
The Ring
This movie was very suspenseful which is great for a horror film. Great work on the scary girl. She really made the movie. The story lacked a lot. And they tried to entertain you with jumping scenes instead. The make up for the dead faces is probably some of the scariest I have scene.
