Kate Winslet: Astonishingly talented. She is the youngest actress to score six Academy Award nominations, receiving her first for Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility (1995) and her latest for the Reader(2008).

The Reader (2008,  R)
The Reader
This is definitely one of her Kate Winslet's finest hours, she gives the performance of her lifetime. Strong and proud, yet so vulnerable. The Reader is a highly thought-provoking and engaging film, one that movie lovers must have in their library.

Revolutionary Road (2008,  R)
Revolutionary Road
It's a downright depressing movie. Their emotions so raw and real, finding that their marriage unraveling because of deception and greed. We have all been there sometime where everything seems great on the outside, but behind closed doors, it's a different story altogether. I suppose some would wonder are they Frank and April after viewing this.

Titanic (1997,  PG-13)
Titanic
The Titanic. Unsinkable, it was claimed until an iceberg changed everything. I don t think I will ever get bored of this movie. When it came out in 1997, I saw it for the very 1st time, I was in awe. Still am. The cinematography and the special effects kept me riveted. It gives you the feeling of almost being there on the ship itself. A visual grandeur indeed. The 2 leads were superb, amazing chemistry. To date, my favourite scene is where L.DeCaprio and Kate Winslet flying at the ship's front. The sinking of the great ship is no secret and certain scenes were so hauntingly sad .Every creak and groan of the ship was audible when watching it on a good quality DVD.

The Holiday (2006,  PG-13)
The Holiday
Once in a while, I like to suspend reality for a while and simply enjoy movies like this one. Sweet and entertaining and never boring, about two women who each have recently had problems with the men in their lives. They chatted online and decided to swap homes for the holidays.Once they both reach their destinations they are both pretty bitter about men, but each of them soon meets different men in their lives who means a lot to them and may make their holiday something to remember.
