Sunshine have references to 2001: A Space Odyssey, Alien, Planet of the Apes and Silent running, but still looks like Event horizon. starts as SciFi ends like Hellraiser. Too bad with so many good actors. it could have been a good film. But it was boring and too long.

Verdict
This movie is labeled as a comedy. I didn't laugh at all. It is more a drama movie. The jokes are stupid and very predictable. The story is simple and so predictable(SPOILER His kids don't like him, because he is always busy. than he is building an ark and all his kids love him again, so cliche)
There is totally no on screen chemistry between Lauren Graham and Steve Carell. and they are playing a married couple.
A complete waste of talent and money. This movie costed 175 million dollar to make and it only earned 93 million. It really bombed at the box office and Universal Pictures already canceled the releases in Asia.
For the first time on flixster. i don't give any stars to a movie. THIS MOVIE IS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!!!!

 Verdict
This movie begins where every thriller/horror begins with. Some people in the middle of nowhere, arguing about why they left the interstate and now driving somewhere they don't belong. They end up in this creepy motel and than hell breaks loose when David and Amy see this creepy video where people get killed, the twist is that the room where they are, the stage of the creepy video is.
Sounds scary!!! But it is not. The role of Kate Beckinsale is 90% of the movie irritating. At the end of the movie she is superwoman and kicks everybody's ass. Really, yes Really. I couldn't believe that was happening. The role of Luke Wilson was alright, but whay happens to the character at the end is a typical hollywood ending.
This movie is a waste of talent, like Kate Beckinsale(Underworld, The Aviator and Van Helsing)
This movie could have been much better with a better screenplay and directing!!

VerdictI saw this movie last week and i heard from friends that it was very good movie. It really sucked and i was disappointed because i like Mark Wahlberg and the directing of Antoine Fuqua(training day and the italian job). When Danny Glover and Elias Koteas ask Mark Wahlberg to plan an assasination scenerio to kill the president. You just know already he will get double crossed by them. There were no twist and no suprises in this movie, Just a normal action movie, nothing more. If Mark Wahlberg wasn't in this movie. It would never hit the theatre's. My final verdict: Just rent it on DVD or wait till it is on TV, but don't waste your money for the movie theatre.

Verdict
First of all, i saw the trailer a few weeks ago before seeing BeoWulf. The Trailer of the Golden Compass was awesome and i wanted to see it instantly. The beautiful special effects and of course the presence of Nicole Kidman and Daniel Graig. Today (14/12/2007) i saw the movie in theather and i was really disappointed.
Let me give you the list:
1) The screenplay was terrible. Characters weren't properly introduced and the main character was shallow. The ending of this movie really sucks. when you think now the good stuff is coming, it already ends!
2) The casting of this movie was terrible. Dakota Blue Richard is just a pain in the ass. Her acting was soooo bad. she supposed to look an innocent sweet girl, but she isn't.
The screen time of Daniel Craig was so little. I think i saw him in the 113 minutes, only 5 minutes acting with 1 page of text. This is also for Nicole Kidman.Christopher Lee i saw only 20 seconds, Eva Green 10 minutes and Sam Elliot also 10 minutes.
3) I already fired the editing room. My god, there is no smooth editing between scenes, sometimes the editing goes that fast. you get sick.
4) The color technique was nice for a thriller, but not for a kids movie. I almost thought i was watching Miami Vice.
5) Special effects were nicely done, Bear fight was cool, flying witches and the bear running with the girl on his back was to close shot, so the CGI was poorly
6) Art direction of the city was well done. My only plus point of this movie
7) This supposed to be a kids movie, there is totally no sweetness about this movie
I hope the book is better, because Chris Weitz did a pretty worse job adapting the screenplay and directing this movie. What was New Line Cinema think of hiring a director who only did comedy movies like American Pie and Down to Earth. I think this movie would have been better if it was done by Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings) or Chris Columbus ( Harry Potter 1)
Please don't give him the job for the second one, if there is one coming. New Line Cinema was very disappointed that the movie didn't earn enough money in the first week (26 million) The movie was 150 million, but with overseas box office. i think they will earn there money. For me, it was the biggest disppointment of the year.
My tip: Re-edit the movie and show it in the IMAX with 3D

I saw the movie last night i the IMAX theather. And i could only come to more titles for this movie: I am boring, I am bad with creating CGI monsters, I am bad writing a screenplay with holes, I am making this movie to damn long, I am messing up the editing of this movie, I am doing the movie Cast Away in New York.
Are there good things to tell about this movie. Yes, there is. There is one scene in a dark warehouse where the acting of Will Smith is so good and the atmosphere at his best/ dark and scary. The scenes that were shot in NY were so scary. All alone in that big city!! Good work for the director on that part. The acting of Will Smith was very good in this movie, but it couldn't save this movie. I was expecting more action and more entertainment, but it is taking too long when it is getting interesting and the CGI monsters were so bad. See only this movie in cinema when you want to see the shots of an empty NY or for the 5 minutes of scare. Go see it at home for the rest of the movie. Sorry Will, I am Disappointed!!!!!

I just saw it in in the IMAX in 3D. I had to put special glasses on. The special effects in this movie are very well done. Some characters were nicely done, like BeoWulf and from Angelina Jolie, the other characters would have been better if there was more time put in it. The final act was spectacular. There the good news ends. Now the bad news:
-The screenplay sucks;
-Some scenes were so messy, you don't see what happens.
-The ending sucks
It could have been much better. Than the final verdict. For visual effects i would have given 5 stars, but because of the poor...worse screenplay, i give it 1 star.
No rating for acting and you know why. It is a cartoon;)

Disappointing horror movie wit a few scares. The screenplay was slow. This movie cold have been better if the movie was re-edit to a 90 minutes movie instead of 100 minutes. Ending sucks.

The final act in the Shrek Trilogy. It is good that this will be end of Shrek, because this one wasn't funny at all. Shrek 1 was original and very funny, but now the fun and the orginal is off. this movie is so cliche. I was expecting more.

Worse verdict first. Worst Batman movie ever, George Clooney were you drunk when you sign for this shit movie. Bad cast overall.
Good verdict. Great art direction like Batman forever, that was much better than this trash.
