Worst Movies I've Ever Seen

Sure, there are movies out there worse than what I have here, but most you can tell straight out that they're going to be bad. These are films that I THOUGHT would be good (sometimes because I'm a fan of the actor or the franchise), but weren't.

This is one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

I don't know if that's because of all the hype I had heard about how great this movie was supposed to be, or because despite being a big Hollywood movie it plays out like a cheap made-for-TV flick. It has names, and these names can act, so it leaves me wondering if this movie is as bad as it is INTENTIONALLY!

Though, all of that said, I have to say it has the single greatest sex scene I have EVER seen in a non-pornographic movie. :)
So, that's why I gave it 1 star instead of half of 1.

I'm surprised so many people rated this movie so high. That just goes to show that mixing hot actors and special effects will sell a movie all on its own.

This movie doesn't have much in common with the comics in which it is based on. Then again, I suppose I'm so bent because they took the greatest villain in all of comics (according to years worth of polls by various comic magazines and websites) and turned him into nothing more than a businessman with a metal mask and an ability to... I don't know... shoot lightning?

Now, somewhat off topic, what really gets me is that studios can abuse a franchise when they turn it into a movie, doing whatever they please through "creative liberties", and because it is a summer blockbuster, it sells. Maybe it could have sold more if it were done right, but their target audience isn't fans of the comic series, but people who just like action movies with hot actors. But... since it made money, this must be what we ALL want, right? So, they make another one, abusing their rights even further. ARGH!

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008,  PG-13)

I was hesitant to see this flick, but being bored and having a night out, I tried it out anyway, despite all the warnings from friends who had - I mean, hell, it has Jet Li!

But, while I had a feeling everyone was right, I didn't know how right they were in what way. God, it's like the movie has two themes - one action and one kid-level corny. Unfortunately, there is a lot less action and a lot more time filling, boring, has little to do with the plot, bad dialogue moments. It was painful wading through this movie. So much so, that quite honestly, I walked out and traded my ticket for X-Files after 45 minutes. :P
