An exciting underwater adventure from James Cameron which owes more to Close Encounters than Aliens. Harris and Mastrantonio spark off each other well and it debuted the SFX technology that brought the T1000 to life in Terminator 2. And despite what I'd been told, the special edition brings nothing more to the story except some overlong and unnecessary detail and a rather trite message about war being bad. No shit.
