)el. The show opens with Greg, Anthony, Murray, Jeff, and Captain Feathersword, clad in striking Christmas pants and accompanied by dancing "Wiggly" reindeer on a colorful stage, bursting into the silly song "Captain Feathersword's Christmas Dance." John Fogerty (guitar and vocals) quickly joins the group with a celebration of home and family in a country-inspired "Christmas All Over the World." Sam Moran sings a traditional "Baccarole" with new lyrics depicting the first Christmas morning, and Ross Wilson (King Mondo) performs an original song about the birth of Jesus that's accompanied by video of young babies with their parents. A somewhat amateurish mariachi band performs a song about the Lady of Guadeloupe and joins the Wiggles in a Spanish/English version of "Silent Night." Interspersed between guest appearances are several typically Wiggles-sounding songs about Henry the Octopus's new post as Santa's wrapping helper, Dorothy the Dinosaur's penchant for receiving roses as gifts, and Wags the Dog's incessant barking one Christmas Eve (featuring Barry Williams). Typically, guest artists augment the range of musical styles and tempos in a given performance and add a new sense of excitement and diversity. Unfortunately, the musical selections in this 45-minute program feature an overwhelming sameness of sound and mood that proves rather monotonous and fails to live up to the Santa's Rockin' title.
