    20H17 RUE DARLING (2003)
    directed by Bernard Émond
starring Luc Picard, Guylaine Tremblay, Diane Lavallée

One evening, a man walks home and has to tie up his laces and misses his bus. When he gets home he sees his building on
...( read more)fire, an explosion occured and he realizes that if he hadnt missed the bus he would have died in the explosion. He starts looking for an answer but falls back in old patern of alcoholism and befriend with a single mom who cant see her kids anymore.

20h17 rue Darling is a poignant drama with extreme depth. Not much is going on cause its mostly about one man's journey to find out why he is still aline but there is no reason for that, its just a coincidence. He doesnt start living life to the fullest he becomes even more depressed than he actually was befiore but will grow a lot with the events in the end. Its always intriguing and somehow disturbing cause Bernard Émond is a former documentarist and he shoots his film with lots of realism.

Luc Picard is strong as usual and he looks ugly and tired like his character. He is compeltely commited to his character and it shows. Guylaine Tremblay is suprising here, cuase was mostly known for comedic roles but she pulls the troubled mom very well. Very deep and thoughtful.
