Wow. I haven't seen a movie with this level of graphic bloodshed since I last saw Saving Private Ryan. Other than that, I thought it was a great shot in the arm for vampire movies- seriously, if Will Smith had gone up against THESE guys in I Am Legend, NO ONE would have complained about the monsters in that film (in fact, it could have made it one of the best films of the year!).

This was a scary flik. I felt the hopelessness & terror these ppl felt. I kept waiting for the sun to rise to kill them off or scare them away but it NEVER came! They were smart too not your average "Let me suck your blood" vampires. They were scary, intense, intimidating, powerful, Etc. A truly cool flik. I've seen just about every horror flik from the 50's to now & have only felt that fear for the ppl in the flik in a few other fliks. The Shining was one of them.

Finally a very bloody & brutal vampire film with an original story to the this genre that feels like a breath of fresh bloody air.Creepy atmosphere,good pace & few cool death scenes.Good performances by the cast, specially from Josh Hartnett.Even a good ending that i wasn't expecting just to make this film one of the best horror films of 2007.

the only thing i did not like was... why the goddamn vampires suddenly were gone? they didnt fuckin die?

I don't know why people say this movie was shit.
This is one of the best vampire movies ...
I do agree the vampires don't look real, but what do you expect? Real looking ones? ... theres no such thing as vampires, so don't expect real ones, but they could be more realistic.. and stop looking like office people.. I found this movie quite good in my opinion..
all the other vampire movies are so old and suck nuts.. and the new ones, are quite boring, for example.. van helsing.. and.. dracula..Blade was alright though. Ben Foster! He's such a good actor (and quite hot!) I didnt know that he was in 30 Days Of Night but when you look carefully at the hobo that comes into town at the beginning you'll notice! He looks completely different as a hobo! lol kinda freaky! Everyone watch Alpha Dog, Ben Foster is pretty good in that film and you will find yourself laughing at some of things he says even though its a drama.

30 days of shite more like, vampires invade an isolated northern village where it stays dark for a month in the winter, sounds good but somehow the film makers managed to make it so boring my girl fell asleep twice during it - a few people hide in a loft for the duration of that time, only to randomly wander out in the street to get killed by the vampires every few weeks to try & stop the audience dozing off. a few nice axe decapitation's give it half a star. AVOID

I liked the movie. It brought back the old vampire image. Vampires are not nice they are in pain and need to feed and that is what this movie reminded people. I thought the ending was sad, but it had to be.

This movie was bad and lame. So many loopholes and times where it didn't even make sense.
Good thing I <3 <3 <3 Josh Hartnett because he was the shining force in this movie. Gets better towards the end, but horrible ending. >___<
