Yes, this is something I would love to see
it luks SUPER interestingg..definitely NOT gonna miss this movie. esp da 3months trained packs.. wooooootttt . and gerard butler..
This movie is off the scale of excitement. Kept my full attention throughout the whole movie. I would see it again when out on DVD.
This movie was sooo freakin awesome!!! i loved it!!!!!!! i would deff go see it again, and again!!!!!!
no words for this movie.....the moment you are in front of the screen you wish to be one of the characters and go to fight in this place 2500 years before..
Great movie. Nothing like a bunch of half naked men when they look that GOOD. Oh and the fighting was good to......
gotta go along with 'Icummer' Get a Life! If this is to be taken as propoganda maybe we should be looking for the message in Winnie the Pooh or Fantasia. This is a great movie, never going to be an all time classic as someone has pointed out but like they said it's not supposed to be. If you lked Sin City then you will love this, if Gladiator made you feel pumped with testosterone then this will do the same, and ladies and some chaps there have never been an assembly of finely chiselled pecs and abs gathered together in one place ever, I felt like i ought to be sitting up and sucking i nmy gut :-)
Enjoy it it's great film making and better viewing.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice bodies in this film, 0_o Great movie + acting!! if this is the direction movies are going im excited to see what else is coming our way, if i were to imagine a battle epic i certainly wouldn't have come up with this DAmn that is talent and imagination!! David Wenham was awesome in this...... very nice to look at as always.. ')
Visually stunning, a work of art. Not an epic but wasnt meant to be. Quality! Iv seen it twice an im still ready for more.
omg 300 was and always will be the greatest movie of all time
all awards given to other movies should be stripped and given to this movie
omg
i had an orgasm with every swing of a sword, and every word spoken, and the speeches given made me cry
GREATEST MOVIE OF ALL TIME!!!
People, people! How can this movie be right-wing propaganda? Seriously? The invaders in this movie aren't the heroes? Those brave Spartans are fighting for "liberal" freedom from outside oppression.
Note: in reality, they were heavily-invested in slave economy, but did believe highly in their own freedom, like much of early America.
If this movie makes anyone look good, it promotes "freedom fighters" and the defense of one's homeland. But, it does neither. It's not propoganda; it's a movie based on a comic, based on a personal fantasy, based on a historical event.
This is like calling Star Wars left-wing propoganda, because it featured freedom fighters against a tyranical empire. I'm prepared to be flamed here, but this is just nonsense. Worse, it's nonsense perpetuated by the media just so they have something to write about.
Is Leonidas symbolic of Bush? Is Xerxes? Aren't those silly questions when both of them were real individuals "pumped up" for this story.
This film is nothing short of subversive and somewhat frightening right-wing propaganda. Stop dressing it up under the cloak of 'entertainment', open your eyes, and see this film for what it really is. For more, read my review.
at last frank millers comic book is put to celluloid . zack snyder comes up with one hell of a movie which will go down in history .FLIXTANS TONIGHT WE DINE IN HELL.......
frickn sweet man!!1 i love those 50 pound shields and the brutal ways of tha spartans i ish i were part spartan now
Film was fantastic!! Ever since I saw the trailer on it's release day I have wanted to go and see it.
I have now seen it and I understand the enourmous hype surrounding it. I think it is the best film I have seen for months.
The story is great I love the action and the sparta principles, plus I do love historic films in general but this film is to anyone not just the majority who like historicaly based films
For all of u who said this was rubbish u dnt know wot ur talkin about it was brilliantly made Gerry was subereb and it was historically accurate (as it can be) and I should know I'm a student in ancient Greek and Classical civilisation. "straight faward plot was too pridictable" it's a Greek legend...what do you expect!!! these people ate their kids and married their brothers and sisters, all men ever thought about was battle, and they were ALL mad. It's a very good film and that's that!!
For all of you who say that this is not based on truth, you are right and wrong at the same time. This battle really did happen, it is called the Battle of Thermopylae.
The difference between this movie and the real thing is that, in addition to the 300 Spartan troops, there were about 6,000 to 7,000 other Greek troops. They did make their stand at the Hot Gates, against a hugely superior (in numbers) Persian Empire. The number of troops the Persians had is widely disputed, and is thought to range anywhere from 300,000 to 2 MILLION soldiers, so the movie was not that far off in that respect. Where the herioc stand comes from is that, when the Greeks realized that they wouldn't win, they decided that they needed to retreat to defend their homes more directly. The Spartan 300 and about 1,000 other Greeks volunteered to stay and fight to hold the army up. The movie is actually quite accurate, just a little exaggerated.
I thought the movie was fantastic. Just the meaning of the movie was great I will definately buy it when it comes out on dvd. Let's put it this way for those of you who hav not seen it like gladiator see 300 girls if you like buff men lots of tight abs in this movie lol and like action plenty and for those guys out there it shows how powerful men are and what then can do even with odds against them.
300 is AWESOME !
while some people might say that it is a very gory movie,
I do believe that the movie will give a very very good understanding on why - sometimes - a man gotta do what a man gotta do.
favorite lines:
Persian Emissary: This is madness!
Spartan King Leonidas: Madness? This is Sparta!
Spartan King Leonidas: This is where we fight. This is where they die.
Spartan King Leonidas: Spartans! Enjoy your breakfast, for tonight we dine in Hell!
Spartan King Leonidas: A new age has come, an age of freedom. And all will know that 300 Spartans gave their last breath to defend it.
This is a Frank Miller novel. People seem to forget that. Does everyone think Sin City was supposed to be real as well? Truly awesome viewing seeing as everything is done in a studio and not on location. Breathtaking. I defy anyone not to be blown away by this movie. Gerard Butler in his most convincing role to date.
yes, this movie was AWESOME and great with a lot of thing to watch. i'm really intrested in these kind of historic movies, but...
But are u sure about its TRUTH, was it entirely based on truth. when i watch it for the first time i confused!! i didn't undrestand who are persians who are spartan's troops, 'cuase as far as i know persians are not like those shown there. it is good to show a country SLAVE and MURDUR becuase a NATION (just a nation!!) dosen't like it to develop!!!
any way i wish when u are watching this wonderful movie in effects and many other thing remember that this not based on TRUTH.
TIME WILL SHOW IT!!
Not seen it yet, but eagerly anticipated. therefore read many comments, vast majority of which have been positive, describing a highly entertaining film (surely the primary intent of its makers). Nonetheless, some criticisms I have come across, not least in the international press, I believe to be profoundly flawed.
Lets see: a mighty, demonic aggressive empire wages war against a militarily inferior opponent. The USA(the great Satan) vs any one of numerous countries, any-one? Imperial Britain against any one of numerous post-colonial countries, any-one? The power of the metaphors, made possible by the use of "stereotypes" and "one dimensional characters", is undeniable and inescapable.
And so the wheel of history turns, ancient aggressors become modern day victims. The fight for freedom against oppresive empires is age old, and continues today.
So stop with all the deep analysis and just enjoy the damn film and be entertained, just as its makers intended!
