Good movie...
After hearing a lot of bad reports on this movie I was pleasantly surprised when I finally saw it. The acting is good, Kevin Costner's bad guy is great, it's well filmed with a lot of excellent cinematography, combined with absolutely perfect use of the soundtrack from minor audio cues right through to the explosions. This is not a sophisticated movie, but in its genre it is excellent.
I love it.
I love this movie, I have been waiting for a match-up of this calibur for a while and Costner and Russel are perfect in this heist movie with a mucked up getaway during an Elvis festival in Vegas. Also, the music in this movie is solid.
brilliant. Thats the only word for it. I didnt think i'd like it as much as i did but it was belta the cast was great. The cast was great especially Kurt Russel and Courteney cox they were a great on scren couple even though i lovwe courteney nnd david but there was deffo chemistry.
Five ex-cons have decided to ransack a casino dressed as "The King." The gang consists of their mean-spirited leader Thomas J. Murphy (Costner), the goofy Gus (Arquette), the tense Hanson (Slater), and the brutish Franklin (Bokeem Woodbine). They meet up with Michael Zane (Kurt Russell), an ex-con who is a bit more level headed than his pals. The five men hit the casino with all they've got and make their getaway in a helicopter piloted by Howie Long. While counting their cash at a local motel, things start to unravel. Tempers flare, words are spouted, and guns are pulled. Through a series of unlikely events, people are killed, backs are stabbed, and the money is taken on the run. Even Zane's new "girlfriend" (Cox) and her eight-year-old son get in on the action. It's soon obvious that Costner is the bad guy and Russell the good guy, and it's a cat and mouse game to retrieve the stolen loot all across the desert plains. Costner's usual limitations -- his dead-tone surfer's voice, his inability to use his body expressively -- are still on evident display, but he's a lot looser and focused than usual. Almost everything he does here is unexpected; he's learned to trust his instincts, to take chances and quit worrying what the general public might think of each and every one of his on-screen moves. The way Michael's been written, and the way the never-better Russell plays him, he's too smart for his own good, and it's in his willingness to introspect and admit his weaknesses that eventually make him an irresistible character. The love that develops between him and a sexy single mom (played by Courteney Cox) comes off as completely believable, because the writing throws their relationship arc a few curves, and both actors not only match up well together but actually listen to one another -- you can believe there's something genuine going on between them by their reactions and the words being held back. 3000 Miles to Graceland isn't any kind of classic, but looked upon in retrospect, it's much more telling about our current society's skewered moral sense than its naysayers will likely ever give it credit for.
Great Cast but I felt the acting could have been better......Another movie with Courtney Cox and David Arquette. Great story.....stunts were okay!
I could be a bit bias on this film cuz i was raised on this kind of film; action with a bit comedy, drama, romance, and suspense. So, I find this movie to be quite satisfactory. In fact I kinda regret watching it in 2008 when I could have watched this alot earlier. The Elivis theme really fooled me in thinking this was a drama film with no action. The only thing I didnt like about this movie is Costner. My dad really had him pegged when he said Costner cant act, he just has a great agency. As cool as he was in this movie, he doesnt give off the vibe that he is the baddest mofo alive.
love this movie. with the scene of kevin costner and the cop on the road.. and the cops eternal spinning barrel of his gun.... love that part.. i think it is like 14 seconds spin.. i really want one of those pistols
Kurt Russell stars as Michael Zane, fresh out of prison and ready for his next big job - posing as Elvis impersonators to steal money from a major Las Vegas casino, along with his old 'friend' Thomas Murphy (Kevin costner) who may or may not be the illegitimate son of the King himself!
Soon however, Zane finds himself against his old friend, trying to stay alive and keep the cash he stole along with Cybil (Courtney Cox) and her young son.
'3000 Miles to Graceland' is an entertaning film with a lot of bloody action and some quite comical moments as well.
It is interesting to see Kevin Costner in the nasty bad guy role.
Costarring Christian Slater, David Arquette and Jon Lovitz, '3000 Miles to Graceland' has a good cast, an interesting and funny story and, overall, is an enjoyable fiilm.
This was such a different take on the whole fanaticism over the King...that is was just a freakin' awesome story altogether....and how it unwravels?
Review...TBC.
Jag vet inte varför jag gav filmen en femma själv, jag diggar filmen sedan första gången jag såg den.
Vad finns att inte gilla?
Pure action, drama. komik och Elvis Presley
I hope that Elvis never had to see this hunk o' burning crap. The action scenes were just alright, and the whole idea of them dressing as Elvis impersonators was cool. Perhaps I should blame the acting, or the general storyline. I can't decide. Kurt Russell was a punk, and Kevin Costner couldn't fit the shoes of being a really big, bad toughguy. I've seen both of this guys in better movies. Well, everyone seems to act in one bad movie at some point in their career. Guys, add this one to your list of flops.
Killer movie. Kevin Costner and Kurt Russell are both badasses in this movie. Awesome shoot out scene near the end of the movie.
If you haven't seen it, you need to cuddly up in front of the TV and check out this flick, it was filled with action and great one liners.
Funny, funny, funny! Nice concept for a heist flick, brilliant cast (even the kid - and I'm not a fan of kids in films like his usually) - and Kevin Costner playing a bad guy! This is the first time I've enjoyed watching him!
This one showed a whole lot of promise to me, but blew chunks near the end. Decent soundtrack though.
I didn't think I'd like this movie because I'm not an Elvis fan, but it's awsome! Kurt Russell at his finest since Big Trouble in Little China!
I saw this movie awhile back, a billion times. It was great. Kurt Russel rocked out this movie! Elvis would be proud.
It was a better film than I thought. Kurt Russell does impersonate Elvis Presley better than Kevin Co-Star. Probably since he has been performing this role much longer- in at least 2 other films- (1979) Elvis, voice for the character in Forrest Gump- and a 3rd- his debut film with the real Elvis when Russell was a child- It Happened at the World's Fair. If I saw more of Costner in this film, I would probably have rated it lower- I expected him- not Russell- to have the key role.
I love Kevin Costner but at times I wasn't sure whether this movie was supposed to be serious or just funny. I thought the casting seemed off for the supporting characters and there seemed to be a large amount of over-acting (perhaps this was intentional? once again I was unsure as to the directors' intent) and I thought the script was pretty weak, especially towards the end.
ALSO, the soundtrack was noticeably bad. Film's about Elvis so I was expecting songs a little less... TECHNO-Y?! The musical choices made gunfight scenes look like some demented version of the Matrix. Probably not watching this again unless I want to just want to relive the stupidity and laugh about how much it sucked.
Saw it on TV today--never saw Kevin Costner play evil, man he was a BAD dude. Liked Kurt Russell in it. Pretty rough flick even on TV, pretty good I guess, but won't watch again.
A decent waste of an afternoon. Watching Kurt Russell and Kevin Costner fight over 3 million dollars.
I had to come back and amend my review and add that It's amazing in movies when trained SWAT teams with laser sights can't shoot squat while the bad guys hit everything without them. I'd fire who ever calibrates the SWAT teams guns.
i loved this movie. i didn't know much about it but my bro saw it in theaters and he said it was action packed, and hells yea it was!!
Typically I don't care for Kevin Kostner, but he does play an excellent bad guy, and he's pretty ruthless int his one, plus it's got Kurt Russell, who's always good, so you've got yourself a pretty enjoyable movie here.
