  Rather prophetic film that nevertheless bored me to tears.

  Truffaut basically tries to make a Hitchcock film, and even uses some of his famous trademarks. Oskar Werner does a good job as the timid fireman, and Julie Christie shines all over in her double role. The f/x are a bit dated.
